Olio e Limone Ristorante
Olio e Limone Ristorante, located in downtown Santa Barbara's historic arts district, serves artisanal Italian cuisine. Meaning “oil and lemon” in Italian, their restaurant’s name reflects husband-wife team Alberto and Elaine Morello’s philosophy: rely on the integrity of the ingredients and quality of the preparation to provide Santa Barbara diners “simply sophisticated” Italian cuisine served in an inviting atmosphere with European hospitality. Start with eggplant souffle, then tuck into a plate of house made duck ravioli. And be sure to take home a bottle of their own olio, an organic extra-virgin olive oil made from Sicilian olive varieties.
Bonus: their Milano-styled Olio Crudo Bar, and authentic pizzeria next door at Olio Pizzeria.

All good.Very enjoyable
My friend and I came here for dinner while on vacation. We were seated outside which we asked for. Outside seating was under cover with space heaters. They served bread with olive oil. We asked for balsamic vinegar abd it was brought to us. My friend ordered the pomodoro pasta and a side of veggies which were both excellent. I had pumpkin ravioli with cream sage sauce. The ravioli dough had pumpkin in it and the filling was pumpkin. I enjoyed my dinner, but felt it leaned a little too sweet especially by the time I was finished. I would have liked more fresh sage taste. I think the pumpkin ravioli would be great to split for starters and then one of the more savory meat dishes to go with.
The service was very good. They were very attentive. Refilled our water. They took care of all our dining needs.
I would recommend. Enjoy!
Great experience! Loved the hostess and entire staff!
Amazing little spot, great outdoor experience but a very nice indoor dining room as well.
The food was very good as well as the service. Excellent desserts and premium coffee .A real gem of what a restaurant should be.
Definite must try !
Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Olio E Limone has always been a top notch restaurant, and they pivoted during the pandemic as well as any restaurateur could. The food remains excellent. I had a special of swordfish sauteed in breadcrumbs on top of home made ratatouille, and my lunch mate ordered the lasagne which was also incredible. Very quality ingredients and plating of dishes, attentive service. My only concern this last trip was that the outdoor parklets, thoughfully distinguished with white tableclothes for Olio E Limone, but not on adjoining tables from nearby restaurant, the elegance of the place is lost a little. However, that is true across the restaurant industry. With little separation between Olio and the adjacent (Olio-started) Crudo bar (?) there were more casual, and loud, diners contiguous to our table area. But - everything is outdoors, and based on the Italian roots of Olio E Limone owners, this couldn't feel more like a plaza in Venezia or Milan than any other place in Santa Barbara.
While our table was outside in a reclaimed traffic lane, the bush barriers well-insulated diners from traffic noise and vision. The heaters kept outside diners comfortable. The food was great. The caprese was fresh and light, and the mozzarella nearly melted in my mouth. Ravioli di zucca and duck ravioli was very tasty and light, and the grilled salmon was flaky and flavorful. The pear tart for dessert was delicious. Olio e Limone has always been a favorite of yours, and it has stepped it up lately. A memorable meal.
Had a delightful pre-concert dinner. Shellfish pasta dinner special. Great service. Good location.
Food and service outstanding!
No one minds paying if the quality is there…..
They never miss.
Their special (barreled) Manhattan cocktail was the best ever.
Most delicious meal! The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. Can’t wait to go again.
Good food. Great service. A bit pricy. I would return here again.
We haven’t been able to return here for a few years as it seems we are always in Santa Barbara on Mondays. So glad we were able to have a lovely dinner last night. We enjoyed crab cakes and a wonderful burrata salad for starters, a quail sausage pappardelle and a spicy seafood linguine. Tried not to fill up on bread but it is wonderful with their house olive oil. Lemon tart and chocolate and hazelnut gelato finished our meal. Will be back whenever we can swing it!
One night in Santa Barbara
We were seated outside with some heaters. We were never cold and the ambiance was very romantic. The service and food were excellent. This is a great a great restaurant that we’ll revisit when we’re in Santa Barbara again. It made our getaway perfect.
Food was great, service was very good, menu offered a lot of variety. Fish was terrific, pasta excellent. Seating on outdoor patio was very nice. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
I was surprised that even with a full house, the noise level was very low! I also was pleased that I did not hear ONE dish being out down with a heavy hand.
Food, service, the whole evening experience was a perfect beginning to going onto the theater afterwards.
We’ll be back!
Great and delicious establishment. Portions vary depending on the dish you get, with ravioli's served around 7 or 8 per dish. Definitely need an appetizer to round out the meal. Service was spectacular and the host was kind enough to accommodate our additional guest to our reserved party last minute. Overall a great location for a date or anniversary, I would not recommend for a larger party, as the food may not be enough for everyone to be satisfied.
We were very disappointed. Expensive for the quality of the food. We would not go back there since there are so many fine Italian restaurants in Santa Barbara. Look at the current menu before you go because the prices are high ex: salad $21, scotch on the rocks $17 etc. Service was very good and ambiance was pleasant.
We definitely recommend this restaurant. Because we had our dog, we sat outside which was fine. White table cloths, heaters, and water for our dog. Everything was wonderful!!
Wonderful. Great service
The food was mediocre
Excellent as usual. Food ambiance and service all impeccable. Definitely recommend.
Great evening with friends. The service was spectacular and our dinner was amazing!
Best restaurant in Santa Barbara!---a little pricey.
The food is always excellent. You can count on a beautiful meal with great service. Can’t go wrong at Olio e Limone. Highly recommended
Great service and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!
Excellent food. Had the carpaccio and halibut and finished with the lemon tart. Nice Santa Barbara wines too.
I thought the food was decent, but not great. We ordered the "special" salad of arugula and peach and the peach was hard and not at all ripe, and the salad too salty from the nuts on top. The veal scallopini portion was plentiful, but the meat was tough. Best thing about the mean was the potatoes.
Any time I am in Santa Barbara, I make absolutely sure three weeks in advance to book a table at Olio e Limone, one of my favorite restaurants anywhere! Try the pappardelle with the quail sausage and mushroom! Exquisite. Such a gem of a place and can't wait until my next visit.
Food is outstanding. True Italian
Everything was spectacular. The service, the food, the ambiance.
service was excellent food was excellent-lucky to have this wonderful restaurant in Santa Barbara-loved the peach arrugala salad-desserts amazing!
The food was great and the wine list complete.
Delicious food in a thoroughly pleasant setting. Portioning is surprisingly generous given the excellent ingredients used in the food.
Had an excellent dinner here on a trip to SB! The food was delicious! We started with a peach and burrata appetizer special that was so good. My husband had the duck ravioli and I had the Pappardelle with quail and mushroom ragu. Everything we ate was authentic Italian food, like eating in Italy. It was all delicious! Their wine list was diverse, with lots of Italian options. My only complaint was that the Brunellos were over the top expensive, with the exception of one bottle. Maybe work on getting some more mid-range Brunellos. Otherwise, it was a wonderful dining experience!
We’ve eaten here several times over the past several years. The food is consistently good, the service attentive, and the wine selection interesting. It’s a small, cozy atmosphere, which we like
Olio is the best restaurant in Santa Barbara. Period. Hard stop. It's such a pleasure to dine there and always a warm, inviting and authentic experience.
Yes I'm biased. I've been going there for years and years and years. No, I have no economic or any other affiliation - it's just a great jewel and I'm happy to say so.
