Olio Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely love this place. Went to Olio with friends and family and had a great time! Started with shrimp cocktail, dumplings, and caprese salad - all amazing. I had the seared tuna, and HIGHLY recommend it. Every employee that passed us was friendly and happy, as always. We opened some wine and had cocktails as well. Stayed on the outdoor patio a while, and will definitely continue to come here.
The food was fabulous but took a long time to come out of the kitchen. Inside was very loud but outside on the patio was a lovely place for a leisurely date night dinner. It’s off the ave so it’s a little calmer and there’s not a million people walking by. Our server Michael was FABULOUS and really made the night great.
Second time here & second chance was no better. We chalked the first try to underwhelming but worth a redo, but this was not the redemption we hoped for.
The place is crowded, no way around it. You’re flanked with other patrons on every side in cramped tables. The service is overbearing & unresponsive. And the dinning room is so loud that we couldn’t carry a normal conversation.
The food was okay, with the scallops being a hit, but the escargot being over cooked and the veal dish being mushy. Can’t comment on dessert because the waiter was seemingly trying to evacuate tables & abruptly dropped the check as dinner plates were cleared
Overall, I’m certain we won’t try again. It’s a shame as this place should be great.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for the hearing impaired. The noise level was not energetic it was torturous. That said, the food was okay, could have been great but who would know when they add about 10 more tables than the room should hold, and not one sound absorbing architectural feature in the whole place. Waiters bumped me about 100 times. Couldn't wait to get out of this place. Not going back, except maybe on a Monday in August when Delray Beach is deserted.
Although the food was very good, I'm not sure I would return. The noise level was so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk. We found that to be very annoying. I was disappointed because the food really was delicious. I guess if the weather was ok we could always sit outside. I'm assuming that would be better. There's seating at the bar as well but I don't like to eat at the bar.
We were seated quickly on a Saturday evening as per our reservation--2 couples. Parking was a challenge.
The atmosphere was pleasant and very attractive. Unfortunately a table of 8 with one very very loud talker was seated next to us in an otherwise empty side dining room--Just one of those things. The waiter was competent although he introduced speacials without stating prices, something I dislike intensely. The wine prices were exorbitant for both bottles and glasses. The food was tasty although our waiter gave us an unnecessary heads up that they were out of duck and the owner was calling another restaurant of his to see if he could get the duck there. He could and it arrived in timely fashion without a wait so we didn't understand his warning. We shared salads that were not split in the kitchen. There was no salt and pepper on the table until we requested it. The bread was excellent.
Entrees were good but not deserving of the high prices. The evening was fine but not exceptional and not worth the $100+ price per couple for only one drink order, no appetizers, shared salads, and no dessert and coffee.
We had a very enjoyable dinner at Olio. The godfather flatbread is amazing! Service was friendly and accommodating. The house bread is also very good. My only complaint was our wines by the glass were not from a fresh bottle. When charging full price, reatauarnts need to open fresh bottles every night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience at Olio. The filet were delicious and cooked perfectly. The Caesar Salad was yummy as was the Calamari. The Escargot appetizer was OUTSTANDING. The wine list had many reasonably priced choices. Looking forward to returning to Olio.
Took elderly parents and was so pleased when they honored the reservation time. Nice table, plenty of room and not tooo noisy which was great, although it was sunday night at 7. Food was good but not great for price. Given that it was DelRay beach in season, enjoyed the meal and would go back.
This was one of our worst experiences eating in downtown Delray...from not having the bottle of wine we ordered to waiting over an hour for our main course which was cold and only 4 of 6 entrees were served. The meat sauce lacked meat. When asking to see the manager he said sorry and walked away. Eventually the waiter offered us dessert. Too little too late! Overall a terrible evening!
Are you kidding?? Olio is a "FIND"! ... starting with champagne and caviar (which is hard to find at all in Delray Beach, especially choices of champagne) .... the menu was FANTASTIC and everything tasted very good. Best carpaccio and French Onion Soup I everrr had!! I will be back weekly!
Food very good. Flatbread quite tasty. Pappardelle pasta and shrimp plentiful. Lots shrimp. Pasta cooked just right.
Server rude. Angry we already had drinks. Threw silverware on table. Angry we were splitting dishes and said"we don't split dishes, you'll have to do yourself" . Brought most meal at once and when I complained, no apology.
Not one "thank you" all night.
Brought wrong check at end of evening and argued I was wrong.
I told him was lousy service.
His answer was it was New Years Eve.
Again, no thank you or apology
I usually don’t review restaurants, but the service here was HORRIBLE. There was no host, so we waited for several minutes before anyone seated us and then sat at a table without any menus or place settings. Then we waited over 5 minutes until someone even came over to our table, when we finally flagged someone down. Service continued to worsen, as it took almost 2 hours for our food to come out. After complaining to the manager who could care less, he sent out a different staff member to talk to us, who was only slightly more interested in us. Will not go back again.
