Olio Ratings and Reviews
We were seated quickly on a Saturday evening as per our reservation--2 couples. Parking was a challenge.
The atmosphere was pleasant and very attractive. Unfortunately a table of 8 with one very very loud talker was seated next to us in an otherwise empty side dining room--Just one of those things. The waiter was competent although he introduced speacials without stating prices, something I dislike intensely. The wine prices were exorbitant for both bottles and glasses. The food was tasty although our waiter gave us an unnecessary heads up that they were out of duck and the owner was calling another restaurant of his to see if he could get the duck there. He could and it arrived in timely fashion without a wait so we didn't understand his warning. We shared salads that were not split in the kitchen. There was no salt and pepper on the table until we requested it. The bread was excellent.
Entrees were good but not deserving of the high prices. The evening was fine but not exceptional and not worth the $100+ price per couple for only one drink order, no appetizers, shared salads, and no dessert and coffee.
We had a very enjoyable dinner at Olio. The godfather flatbread is amazing! Service was friendly and accommodating. The house bread is also very good. My only complaint was our wines by the glass were not from a fresh bottle. When charging full price, reatauarnts need to open fresh bottles every night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience at Olio. The filet were delicious and cooked perfectly. The Caesar Salad was yummy as was the Calamari. The Escargot appetizer was OUTSTANDING. The wine list had many reasonably priced choices. Looking forward to returning to Olio.
Took elderly parents and was so pleased when they honored the reservation time. Nice table, plenty of room and not tooo noisy which was great, although it was sunday night at 7. Food was good but not great for price. Given that it was DelRay beach in season, enjoyed the meal and would go back.
This was one of our worst experiences eating in downtown Delray...from not having the bottle of wine we ordered to waiting over an hour for our main course which was cold and only 4 of 6 entrees were served. The meat sauce lacked meat. When asking to see the manager he said sorry and walked away. Eventually the waiter offered us dessert. Too little too late! Overall a terrible evening!
Are you kidding?? Olio is a "FIND"! ... starting with champagne and caviar (which is hard to find at all in Delray Beach, especially choices of champagne) .... the menu was FANTASTIC and everything tasted very good. Best carpaccio and French Onion Soup I everrr had!! I will be back weekly!
Food very good. Flatbread quite tasty. Pappardelle pasta and shrimp plentiful. Lots shrimp. Pasta cooked just right.
Server rude. Angry we already had drinks. Threw silverware on table. Angry we were splitting dishes and said"we don't split dishes, you'll have to do yourself" . Brought most meal at once and when I complained, no apology.
Not one "thank you" all night.
Brought wrong check at end of evening and argued I was wrong.
I told him was lousy service.
His answer was it was New Years Eve.
Again, no thank you or apology
I usually don’t review restaurants, but the service here was HORRIBLE. There was no host, so we waited for several minutes before anyone seated us and then sat at a table without any menus or place settings. Then we waited over 5 minutes until someone even came over to our table, when we finally flagged someone down. Service continued to worsen, as it took almost 2 hours for our food to come out. After complaining to the manager who could care less, he sent out a different staff member to talk to us, who was only slightly more interested in us. Will not go back again.
This was our 2nd visit. Our first visit was outstanding so we decided to bring our friends. We wanted to sit outside and the music was too loud and not appropriate for that time of evening. We therefore had to sit inside at a table in the front for 4. The restaurant was not busy yet they sat another couple right on top of us - they listened to our every conversation and it was very uncomfortable. On top of that the service was horrible. Three of us received our appetizers and one was not delivered until we had finished our appetizers (calamari). The waiter was not attentive at all - such a disappointment. The food was good. I will not come back to the restaurant.
The meals were very expensive for what was given. Nothing special about the food for the expense of $75.00 per person with a drink. Meal was not described appropriately. Veal piccata was breaded which was not mentioned in the menu. Pasta was limp. Noise level was so high you could not carry on a conversation.
Wait staff were not very attentive and un-interested when we said the piccata was a problem being breaded for a gluten issue.
Never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee or tea after our meal.
Would not return. So contrary to what was advertised in our local Delray Magazine as a nice quiet restaurant off the Avenue.
Very nicely appointed restaurant just off Atlantic where many restaurants vie for business. Its a tad quieter. You can sit in or out depending on weather and preference. Menu was very nice, complete and offered enough diversity. Meals were well cooked and healthy. Server was very friendly and knowledgable. We can recommend this establishment.
Enjoyed dinner here several time previously. Really missed the mark this time.
Service was abysmal. Only 5 tables in the dining room were occupied yet it was a full 30 minutes between courses.
Octopus was cold, mussels portion was small with five not opening.
Server asked for our entree order while holding all our appetizer plates. One person asked for the rice to be held in their curried shrimp. It didn't happen.
Overall a real disappointing evening
I made a rsvp. for 7:00 pm and they asked me if I wanted to sit in the inside or the outside. when I got there, I was told a wedding had reserved the entire inside and there was only outside seating. I was disappointed. they should have told me when I made the rsvp. However the food was excellent.
Bread was great, and the server was appropriately attentive. Outdoor dining venue was also very nice. However both of our entries were weak. My Maui Maui was very dry and my wife's pasta was bland. With so many restaurant options in Delray, we will not be back. I don't doubt that some of the only other entrées may be excellent.
The best service staff in Delray! Always accommodating and impeccable service, especially at the bar. We were a party of 6 and ended up at the bar after dinner to watch the final half of a March Madness game and they stayed open late just so we could finish watching the game! Good food, great drinks and awesome atmosphere! Highly recommend!
