O'Learys Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Second time here and consistency of food was great. Waitress very helpful in selections and ambiance was cozy even with a full house. I had Bonzini with a spectacular presentation. The Mediterranean side was so flavorful with feta, olives, red peppers and Israeli couscous. Delicious!
Great service, love the decor, menu was unique- great restaurant. I only have one negative thing to say- and I only write this hoping the chef will take note- all our food had too much of a heavy hand on the oil. I had a beet salad that was too greasy -and a scallop risoto main dish that was also too oily- no need. The food could have been prepared lighter without any sacrifice on flavor or appearance.
It is hard to overstate the pleasure of dining at O'Leary's. We have met our friends there for New Years Eve the last five years and very time has been a jewel of a memory. We never feel rushed. We always feel welcomed. The food is delicious but the atmosphere for this special occasion could not be more magical and warming. For people with extremely poor hearing some sections of the dining room may be difficult. But if you state your concern ahead of time they will help seat you in one of the more secluded sections. Really... wonderful.
We had a wonderful dinner there on a busier than average night - right after The Military Bowl, so basically a home football game for Navy.
So they were busy, but you’d never have known it by the level of service, the speed in which the drinks and food were served, etc...
Three of the four of us ordered their crab cakes, which were excellent and the fourth really enjoyed his fish special.
The cocktails were a hit too!
Our waitress was Beatrice and she did a great job.
O'Leary's remains a uniquely special dining experience in Annapolis with particular emphasis on sea food It has become a dining spot where we to seeking an exceptional dining experience and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere, variety and imaginative presentation of their menu choices is strongly complimented by superb and genuinely personable service. Enjoyed the lobster over risotto and it met our every expectation.
The evening went smoothly but it was not spectacular as I had expected from the reviews that I read. Service was okay, perhaps a little on the slow side. Parking was very good and easy, which is relief in downtown Annapolis. The food was adequate but nothing was extraordinary, considering the cost it is just an okay value.
We had Salmon and the seafood pasta for dinner. We asked to have the salmon cooked medium o medium rare. We said this twice and the waitress repeated the order. It was my mothers 87 th Birthday, so she didn't speak-up when her meal came out well done, if not burned.
When I saw her cutting the salmon and noticed the poor job cooking, I called the waitress over to complain. All she said was," I'll tell the chef". Nothing was done to correct this issue.
Of course for a birthday, I wasn't going to complain. But nothing!!! Poorly done Mr. owner and chef!
My wife and I went to O'Leary's for Sunday brunch. Wife had shrimp and grits and I had fish taco's . The shrimp and grits had a nice portion of shrimp and andouille sausage. She said it had a good taste. The fish tacos featured mahi, guacamole and salsa. It was a very good combination. Service was good but customers were few. Parking on site in Eastport.
I hate to write such a stellar review because I don't want the whole town to find out about this gem of a spot for a perfect Sunday Brunch.
Without a doubt the best Bloody Mary I have ever had! Gorgeous, loaded with surprises and delicious!
The Scottish Egg wrapped in a Crab Cake over hash browns was inventive and again, superb.
The service was impeccable, the waiter was personable, attentive, but not overly so.
I will be back very soon!
O'Leary's is a seafood favorite in a seafood town. Creative fish dishes abound, with seasonal specialties to choose from. Even devoted meat eaters are likely to find a seafood dish to tempt them. Demitri waited on us our last visit and his recommendations were all spot on. We each chose a different entreé -- honey basted salmon, crispy rockfish, blackened tuna and whole black cod -- and each thought ours was the best -- which tells us we've got a sure winner.
Anniversary...came from Charlotte to DC and travelled to Annapolis, MD do to the recommendations. We where NOT disappointed!!!!! Small and cozy restaurant with an excellent service. The waitress was accommodating to all of our requests. We will be back shortly guaranteed!
Denise is THE BEST. Personal & professional, she'll make you feel welcome whether it's your first visit or a familiar regular. My wife and I just celebrated our 13th anniversary at Oleary's. There are many fine dining establishments in downtown Annapolis. (some on the same block w/ Oleary's).
Because of Denise , her fellow servers and the management/ ownership, we hold Oleary's at the top of our list for that "special occasion" venue.
From the moment we arrive, to being seated next to an open window to enjoy the beautiful evening breeze and view of the moon, our server Jennifer was highly informative, attentive and prompt in seeing that we were continually being well cared for -she was excellent. our entrée's of shrimp and scallop was succulent; and the lobster risotto with crab outstanding. our calamari appetizer was served in a broth that could have been a full meal. we brought home the apple bread pudding for the next day, which was delicious. O'Leary's is our "go to" place for special events .

I drove 660 miles to see a football game and also to eat at O'Leary's. The game was awful O'Leary's was its normal self that means maybe the best seafood house on the East Coast. Great menu but be prepared for a full meal and for god's sakes do not expect to be able to finish the deserts, they are amazingly good but very rich and after a full O'Leary's meal good luck. For O'Leary's nothing special means a great meal they never disappoint you.
