O'Learys Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
O'Leary's is a seafood favorite in a seafood town. Creative fish dishes abound, with seasonal specialties to choose from. Even devoted meat eaters are likely to find a seafood dish to tempt them. Demitri waited on us our last visit and his recommendations were all spot on. We each chose a different entreé -- honey basted salmon, crispy rockfish, blackened tuna and whole black cod -- and each thought ours was the best -- which tells us we've got a sure winner.
Anniversary...came from Charlotte to DC and travelled to Annapolis, MD do to the recommendations. We where NOT disappointed!!!!! Small and cozy restaurant with an excellent service. The waitress was accommodating to all of our requests. We will be back shortly guaranteed!
Denise is THE BEST. Personal & professional, she'll make you feel welcome whether it's your first visit or a familiar regular. My wife and I just celebrated our 13th anniversary at Oleary's. There are many fine dining establishments in downtown Annapolis. (some on the same block w/ Oleary's).
Because of Denise , her fellow servers and the management/ ownership, we hold Oleary's at the top of our list for that "special occasion" venue.
From the moment we arrive, to being seated next to an open window to enjoy the beautiful evening breeze and view of the moon, our server Jennifer was highly informative, attentive and prompt in seeing that we were continually being well cared for -she was excellent. our entrée's of shrimp and scallop was succulent; and the lobster risotto with crab outstanding. our calamari appetizer was served in a broth that could have been a full meal. we brought home the apple bread pudding for the next day, which was delicious. O'Leary's is our "go to" place for special events .

I drove 660 miles to see a football game and also to eat at O'Leary's. The game was awful O'Leary's was its normal self that means maybe the best seafood house on the East Coast. Great menu but be prepared for a full meal and for god's sakes do not expect to be able to finish the deserts, they are amazingly good but very rich and after a full O'Leary's meal good luck. For O'Leary's nothing special means a great meal they never disappoint you.
Great spot for great food and a quiet intimate dinner. Wine list was pretty good as was the service. The menu is seafood oriented which is what you would expect and the prices are in line with the Annapolis area. Waitress was attentive but not intrusive. Parking limited.
Great seafood. Meal was very good. Service not so good. Bartender running around and took long to get a drink. Also, over charged us for a high end vodka when we where served vodka from the well.
Ordered a glass of wine before my dinner was to come out. Received the wine when I was don’t with my meal. Also, I don’t under stand why they ask if it a special occasion and then say nothing to you !! Don’t bother asking !! We would return for the food and hope the service gets better
This was kind of a "date night" as we were by ourselves in Annapolis. O'Leary's is truly one of our favorite restaurants here. Our table was not ready at the reservation time, but there was room at the bar and the bartender let us taste the wine before we bought a bottle we intended to drink with dinner. The bottle was transferred to our table bill. There are always wonderful specials here, but we ordered from the regular menu. Crab cakes for my husband, and a starter of grilled oysters. I had fried green tomatoes then the tuna tartare appetizer, which is quite enough food for me. What is wonderful about O'Leary's is how fresh everything is, no matter what you order, and it's all really good. For light eaters, two appetizers are fine. The regular entrees are a lot of food, but even the sides are great. Worth a visit and the final tab. One of the great wine lists around, also.
Great fish and oysters. Friendly staff and prompt courteous service. The food came out hot and tasted very fresh. The gremolata went well with the Barramundi without overpowering the fish. The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. We we from out of town and felt lucky in our choice of O'Leary's Seafood for dinner.
O'Leary's aims for the casual elegance market and the prices reflect it. The ambiance is nice and the service attentive. The food, however, is not wonderful. The menu was the same as on our last visit 2 years ago, reflective of the fact that most of the fish is not local. Farmed baramundi, bronzino and salmon may be fine in Des Moines, but this is Annapolis. Oysters on the half shell were local but totally dry as though they had been shucked in the afternoon and kept on a rack in cold storage. The dishes we had were overworked and overly salty, the product of a kitchen staff rather than an a chef.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food and great service. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was delightful. The fall soup- squash and zucchini- was one of the best I'd ever had. They had our table ready for us and gave us some complimentary champagne. The bill for the both of us was $117. We went to celebrate buying a new sailboat. I would highly recommend It.
We were a party of four, three of us had outstanding fish or seafood including two of the evening specials. The fourth person in our party had the 1 1/4 pound lobster with risotto special and was profoundly disappointed. The presentation was fine but it was impossible to find any lobster, no chunks or discernible pieces were to be found. I guessed they were shredded into the risotto?
It was the most expensive entree on the menu and sooooo disappointing. It brought down the entire evening to have one person unhappy and everyone else enjoying. 😞
Simply fabulous! The service was outstanding - very engaging waitress. The meals were outstanding -- three of us and we each ordered one of the specials -- none were disappointed. The wine selection is outstanding as we enjoyed a Chianti Classico. Highly recommend this intimate restaurant that delivers outstanding entrees coupled with great service and venue.
