Just fantastic! I would highly recommend the falafel appetizer. My scallops dinner was also wonderful as was the lamb/moussaka dish.

Our waiter was also very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. I will return here often!

The food was terrific and very unique. I'd advise against ordering too many pret-a-manger dishes; my husband and I ordered the olives and the hummus, and on top of one shared appetizer and two entrees it was too much. Overall, this was a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday! Don't forget to try the nonalcoholic minty berry drink too.

Creative, subtle and exotic dishes maintain Oleana's place as one of Boston's best restaurants. I had the Zucchini Pancakes with Green Tomato-Nectarine Salad & Haloumi Cheese appetizer and Flatiron Steak & Cheese Borek with Slow Roasted Tomato, Cumin & Lovage entree, both really excellent and engaging, while my wife ordered the signature Deviled Eggs with Tuna & Black Olives and Duck Gyro with Whipped Garlic, Broccoli & Greek-Style Potatoes. The duck was a bit bland, but the milk-boiled garlic in the sauce more than made up for this.
Although I abstain, the dessert menu is the work of a true artist, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Sweet Corn Ice Cream with Blueberry Crisp & Petite Corn Soufflé .
A fine 9th anniversary celebration!

I went there with my significant other and we both love it. The waiters are professional and attentive and the environment very relaxed. The food was cooked to perfection I was very satisfied. BTW I am usually hard to please and they definitely met my expectations of how a restaurant is suppose to cater to its customers.

Finally I had the great pleasure to experience a delicious meal and the warm, friendly service of Oleana. Every word of praise I read is true. We had the vegetable pate, watermelon salad, baba ghanoush and seas scallops paired with a pinot noir from Oregon that was suggested by the waiter. The fresh ingredients, inventive flavors and superb preparation made the dinner a culinary treasure. Hopefully it won't be too long before I return.

Overall the dining experience was very good. My only complaint is that the tables are too tight for a pleasureable dining experience. It is difficult to get in and out of the seats along with having to to raise your voice so that you can heard by your tablemate/s. This increases the noise level. While it appears energetic it is very distracting. I would hesitate to return again. This was my second visit and I felt the same way on both visits. When one is celebrating a special occasion, a more intimate setting would be preferrable.

Despite a good meal, as expected, I was very disappointed with my latest experience at Oleana. I had arranged our reservation on behalf of our party of six celebrating my good friend's birthday. Our seating was delayed 45 minutes, which is particularly frustrating since there's no comfortable waiting area for a party of our size. I realized while waiting that a very similar thing had happened to me a past time at Oleana. However, in that occurrence, management had repeatedly apologized and followed up with free appetizers for our table. I don't think we even got a heartfelt apology this time around. Add on top of this a waitress who didn't make much of an effort to be pleasant or helpful, and I'm left without much desire to return.

Words really can't fully capture just how wonderful an experience it is to dine here. Try their tasting menu (either the vegetarian or the carnivore) - It just may change your life.

This restaurant was a recommendation from a friend. It has excellent service, and amazingly prepared food. The waitress was able to describe everything that we had a question about, and even able to answer some of my questions about the farm that they get their vegetables from. Oleana is highly recommended!!

Our anniversary dinner started out superbly (the short rib appetizer is to die for), and ended superbly (we loved the baked alaska). Our initial choices of main dish (the Broiled Lamb with Moussaka, which we ordered both rare and medium rare, were unacceptably tough and chewy. When we complained and asked for another choice our waitress Erin was absolutely terrific: she could not have been more professional and helpful. Our second choices, the Fish Stew and sliced Plank(?)Steak, were both wonderful. SO overall, with a brief hiatus in the middle, we had excellent meals, drinks and experience at a very fair price, and will be more than happy to return and recommend Oleana! :-)

MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE WITH MY ENTREE. THE APPETIZERS WERE DELICIOUS BUT THE SWORDFISH ENTRE WAS DRY AND EXTREMELY SALTY. IT LITERALLY TASTED LIKE AN ENTIRE SHAKER
WAS EMPTIED ON TOP OF IT. IVE BEEN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT A COUPLE OTHER TIMES AND THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. I WOULD DEFINETLY RECOMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT BUT WOULD STEER CLEAR OF THE SWORDFISH.

We had an outstanding meal on Tuesday, 9/8/09! I have dined at Oleana many times but it was a first experience for my guests. They marveled at the diversity of the wine list and the wished we could order "one of each"! The menu was little changed from my last visit three weeks ago -we had a difficult time deciding what to order and in fact "forgot" to order appetisers due to our many questions about the entrees and pret a manger offerings. But, all was not lost....we had more room for desserts - which are outstanding and truly unique. The food is not "spicey", just wonderfully spiced with seasonings unfamiliar to most "foodis". Our server was outstanding and the pleasant surroundings capped a memorable dinner.

I love Oleana, and I love sitting out on their patio, which I was fortunate enough to do this past Labour Day. I have always preferred the patio ambiance vs. the ambiance inside. The food and flavours are always wonderful - the tamarind glazed beef never dissapoints; the fried mussels and the heirloom tomato kibbeh appetizers were absolutely divine. Unfortunately, the lamb steak was just very average - probably my first ever disappointment at Oleana. We had attentive, friendly service, however I found the dishes came out too quickly successively (i.e. took forever to get the pret a manger of hummus, and then the heirloom tomato kibbeh came 30 seconds later, and our table was small). The wine list is great with many affordable options.

We ate at Oleana on Labor Day and in spite of really superb food, the experince was really poor and I would not want to dine there again. We were seated at an awful table in the main hallway, with a 3/4's empty dining space. When the bottle of wine we wanted was unavailable the waitress guided our choice. Whe we did not select the 2X more expensive bottle she brought one she had recommended(it was lousy). We also ordered dinner at the same time. The wine steward spilled wine on the table as he poured and after apologizing never wiped it up. We then received all the apps and our bread within 5 minutes of ordering. Dinner came quickly as well and we were done in 40 mins. The most helpful person was the busboy. Not an enjoyable night dining.

Most of the upscale restaurants in the Boston area have few interesting vegetarian items on the menu - usually just one option, and often just lasange or pasta primavera. So, we were very pleasantly surprised to find that Oleana has a vegetarian tasting menu, along with multiple other options. Of course, there are also many non-veg options, including a fabulous swordfish, but the care and attention given to the vegetarian food was just spectacular. My partner got the tasting menu, which consisted of four courses marked by freshness, enticing presentation, and delicious, creative flavor combinations. My favorite was the spinach falafel, delicate and perfectly cooked. The heirloom tomato kibbeh was spectacular too. Highly recommended!!!!

An outstanding restaurant. Creative mediteranean food (Morrocco through Turkey). Service was skilled, knowledgable, and very informed. The wine list was broad, well chosen, and perfect to the food. The kind of restaurant where you will want to go through the entire menu. I could not be happier with this choice.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner out on the patio. Note: they have a separate reservation system for the patio which you have to show up in person to get on. If you want to be seated on the patio on a busy night you need to either show up for the first seating (which probably means being in line no later than 5:15pm for a 5:30pm seating), or you have to get on the waiting list for the second seating. That's what we did. It was the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. I showed up at 5:30pm and was first in line on the waiting list for the second seating. There was no line behind me at that point. We got seated soon after arriving back at 7:15pm.

The food, as always, was outstanding. The thing that made this particular evening so special was our waiter, who made excellent suggestions about food, and especially the wine. He had a very sophisticated knowledge of the nuances of several wines, and was able to recommend a wine that was delicious with both fish and rabbit. He then brought a card with the name of the wine and the distributor to the table, and had a lot to say about the quality of wines from that distributor. He was attentive without being cloying, and left us alone unless we seemed to need something. He should teach aspiring waiters how to keep his clients happy without annoying them. A+ for this man.

Loved, loved, loved this restaurant. Was here from out of town. My wife and I both had the 5 course vegetarian tasting menu for $36 and didn't regret missing out on meat at all. Everything was super fresh, very flavourful and cooked perfectly. Interestingly enough, we were each given different dishes, so were able to try 10 different dishes instead of 5. Very pleasant service and nice drinks. Value was great.

I would return without any hesitation.

Food was ok, nothing to write home about. The hummus starter with bread was the best part of the meal. Wine was just ok, and the salad with melon and feta was overpowered by the feta. Tuna entree left much to be desired and was a VERY small serving. The chicken was too large a serving and the cheese pancake was bland. Didn't stay for dessert.... The seating was terrible to top it off. Felt like I was having dinner with the two couples on either side of me and could barely get out of the booth and squeeze by the table without hitting them with my rear. Waiter was un-attentive and lacked personality.
