olea - New Haven
Excellent service, diverse menu, delicious food beautifully presented.
Chef Manuel Romero has done it again! An amazing meal. I love that the menu at Olea change seasonally, and during this meal we had a variety of courses and despite having come here often over the years each course was new and delightful. We usually order the tasting menu and are always glad we did. This Chef has a wonderful gift for melding different flavors in new and delicious ways. The service was impeccable, always available but never intrusive. The original cocktails are always great. Cannot recommend this restaurant strongly enough. It is my absolute favorite for any and all occasions.
Beautiful space, our table was the best for a special occasion, the service excellent. The food delicious.
So yummy. The food is clearly a step above most restaurants. The Foie Gras is amazing!
The restaurant is modern and well decorated. The service and food was very good. The waiter was knowledgeable. The only downside is that the cocktails are expensive and VERY WATERED DOWN. If you are going for a meal, don't order a cocktail....you'll feel a little ripped off. Everything else was great.
The absolute best Spanish restaurant we've encountered outside of Spain! The food is amazing and authentic and the service is simply spectacular! We can't wait to go back!
Food and service were EXCEPTIONAL. We celebrated our friends’ birthdays at a great window table and our server thoughtfully brought out our desserts with candles.
Delicious food, excellent service, nice ambiance
The food was excellent, the service was exceptional, and the experience was exactly what we were looking for.
Flawless meal - every dish comes out perfect. Not your typical Spanish restaurant - this is an elevated meal experience
Great Spanish food and attentive service. I will definitely go back for more.
Great restaurant, the food was outstanding and the ambiance complements the entire dining experience. I will deffinitevely come back and recommend this restaurant.
Fabulous food and superior service always a pleasure to dine there
Great food, good service. A little hard to understand the waiter.
Always a wonderful dining experience. The food is superb and the service outstanding. I feel welcomed as soon as I walk in, and cared for during the meal. The chef has a real gift for combining flavors to make each course delicious. The presentation of each dish is exceptional. The cocktails are also amazing.
The food is amazing!!! Great service!!!
There was a large group, VERY NOISY, & acting like they owned the entire dining room! It was a private group, but no separate room, no barrier of any kind!! I ask the manager to please tell them to dial down the noise as there are OTHER PAYING guests in the dining room & some of us are SENSITIVE to noise level!! They should have either booked the entire restaurant or the restaurant should have informed other guests!! I would have NOT booked there had I known!! The restaurant did nothing!! I eventually told one person from the group how obnoxious their noise level is to OTHER guests!!!
Great ambience, service and food, and all within a few steps of Yale’s great museums. Highly recommend.
I've always had fabulous meals at Olea. This time, I was celebrating with a friend. The menu had new options along with some of my favorites. Every dish was intriguing
and delicious - a feast for all the senses. Service was prompt, friendly and unobtrusive. Definitely a place to enjoy a special occasion.
Overall a great experience. Excellent service and food! It was our anniversary and they made a special little celebratory dessert for us! I’d definitely recommend Olea!
Olea is always superb from the food, wine, cocktails right down to the service
Food: so good that it makes the world stop for a moment -- you take a bite and just slow down and enjoy. Service: attentive but not fussy.
Atmosphere: How nice to eat in a place that's quiet!
Always great food with superb service. Especially good for before going to a play at the Shubert.
Hands down best resturant in town
Great food and service. The croquettes were exceptional. Lovely personalized dessert plates. Definitely coming back.
The food here is wonderful. The space is great. Service is adequate.
Reservations are suggested as the place fills up fast. Beautiful restaurant, very classy decor and waitstaff. Food was amazing. Not an extensive menu but plenty of choices. Fully stacked bar and plenty of drink specials. We really enjoyed our night out there. Would definitely go back again.
Beautiful place food was absolutely good but the amount of food they serve for the price wasn’t worth it.
Love this place!
Dinner was outstanding. We had the short ribs which were very tender and flavorful and the tenderloin which was cooked perfectly.
A wonderful new Spanish restaurant has emerged in New Haven from the ashes of the old Ibiza. Whereas Ibiza was more oriented towards tapas dishes, Olea brings a bright, energetic approach to a wide array of wonderfully cooked, fresh Spanish dishes. Great wine list, too.
Given that Olea is a Spanish restaurant, I was expecting to find more Spanish flavours on the menu. I would say the offering is closer to French. The food was very nice on the whole but missing the X factor and sometimes the flavours weren't well balanced (such as the sfera dessert.) The wine options were great and the service was impeccable.
Four of us dined on a Tuesday night. It was a wonderful menu, good wine, great service. The restaurant is quiet- no music at all, which is great for discussion.
We had halibut, ceviche, ribs and butternut squash ravioii- all were excellent
Went for Mother’s Day, they opened specially on Sunday for it. The restaurant was comfortably full, and the service was excellent from the start. They took our coats, sat us immediately, and we had a perfectly paced dinner from water to dessert. Everything was immaculately cooked, with perfect textures and interesting flavors. We skipped the Mother’s Day prix fix, and had the red snapper special and some pork dish I forget the name of. All the appetizers were exceptional and the presentation of our entrees was flawless. The wine list was interesting and had a nice range of prices, we got an incredible reserve red from 2012 for $62 - one of the best bottles I’ve had out ever. Only complaint is we felt the cuts of meat themselves were not exceptional, but they were only slightly below the standard set by everything else.
Excellent restaurant. Still one of the best in New Haven.
Beautifully presented and delicious cuisine.
The food is always delicious and the staff is always accommodating and friendly.
Can't go wrong at Olea. Not the cheapest restaurabt in town, but superbly creative menu, knowledgeable wait staff. Wine list is very good.
