Old Tbilisi Garden Is The Only Georgian Restaurant In Greenwich Village, New York City. Old Tbilisi Garden opened on July 4th, 2014. Since then, it has been one of the only few restaurants that offer authentic Georgian Cuisine in Manhattan. Winemaking is deeply rooted in Georgia’s history, culture
and economy. The world’s first cultivated grapevines are
thought to have originated in the country’s fertile valleys
some 8,000 years ago. Georgia’s long winemaking history
has given rise to unique methods of production, such as
the “Kakhetian rule”. Georgians make wine that is aged and
stored in a special cone-shaped clay vessel known as
Mushroom with Georgian Cheese

Old Tbilisi never disappoints. Beautiful space, delicious food, and great service.
We really enjoyed our time at Old Tbilisi. We sat by the garden while it rained at it gave it this nice feeling to it; hearing the raindrops while eating.
We ordered the Ajaruli Khachapuri, a bread shaped as a boat with an opening that is filled with cheese, an egg, and butter. It’s mixed together and it’s amazing, for those cheese lover, it’s a must.
We also ordered the dumplings, the beef and pork. AMAZING! The meat has a little zing to it, authentic to the taste.
And our final food item was the Chicken Shish Kebab. The chicken is well-marinated and was delicious, it was very herbal with minimal zing to it and juicy. All 5 pieces of the chicken were juicy and taste wonderful.
For drinks: we had endless amount of Aperol Spritz because, why not! LOL
The food and service were excellent. The sunroom was cosy and comfortable with AC.
Fantastic food, ambience and service. Put the Old Tbilisi Garden at the top of your list.
Amazing! I will be going back
It was an interesting restaurant to try. We loved Georgian wine but we did not get lucky with our lamb kebab. Came out too dry. We would probably come back again to try something different on a menu . Atmosphere in garden area was very pleasant.
Food was nothing like Georgian food. For the price they charge there you can have phenomenal meal anywhere else. Eggplant with walnuts was with parsley what parsley is doing in it I don’t know and also why 3 slices of eggplant cost 18 dollars I don’t get it. Khinkali is the same with parsley. Georgians don’t use parsley most of the dishes. Pork was raw and that is very dangerous for health reasons. Very disappointed.
Great place!! Went with a huge party excellent service and dog friendly
One of my favorite places in NYC! Excellent food!!!
From khinkali to khachapuri, everything is delicious! Good selection of Georgian wines and Georgian sodas. Two thumbs up!
Love this place. visited many times. i take my friends that visit NYC every time.
Excellent service, great atmosphere and some of the best food I’ve tasted !
Many many thanks
Great service and amazing food! Really authentic and special. Feels like home. 💓
Awesome food! I had never had Georgian cuisine before and was really pleased with the quality. Service was decent - I had booked what I thought was a table in the beautiful garden out back, but when I arrived I was told that it was reserved for a private party. We ended up sitting indoors which was fine, but the garden is really beautiful! All in all a good experience.
Many many thanks
Quick service, delicious food. We had eggplant with walnut, khachapuri, dumplings & chicken stew which were all delicious, flavorful, totally enjoyable. We would visit again without hesitation
Many many thanks
Great service, beautifully peaceful rear garden, and absolutely phenomenal Georgian food.
Many many thanks
Tasty food and good atmosphere, but certainly pricey. The 20% tip that was added by default (party of 4) left us with somewhat of a bad aftertaste (we would certainly left a good tip by our own choice).
We had never been to Old Tbilisi before and had never had Georgian food either. It was delightful. The back garden is lovely. The food was amazing. We ordered far more than we could eat so we had some great “doggy bag” leftovers at home. The sources are very distinctive and we highly recommend the cheese boat appetizer. All in all a lovely Mother’s Day choice, made all the more special by the very cordial staff.
Excellent Georgian cuisine, however little to know guidance from wait person led to over ordering & wine list is brutally overpriced.
Interesting experience, but do your research in advance, & maybe skip wine for a more reasonably priced evening
Overall was good but reservation for garden was useless because it was first come first serve
Lamb stew and kharcho tasted home made - like there is a grandma cooking it for you fresh. Georgian cheese bread was tasty - salty and savory. Honey cake was good too, if a little dry - but went well with sweet Georgian wine.
Amazing Georgian restaurant with amazing food! The wait for food is a bit long but it’s worth it!
Many many thanks
I was excited for food but it was quite dissapointing. Lula Kebab was very dry. I asked for adjika which was also very peppery and not really what i expected (i have had adjuka many many times before).
The khachapurri was quite good though so i would come back for that but probably wouldnt venture out for other menu items after my experience.
I love Georgian Food and the place fulfilled my expectations, the location was good, the food was amazing and the ambience was cool, there were a lot of tables which speaks highly of a restaurant. I will try to come back whenever I am back in Manhattan.
I did not know that Georgia was the birthplace of wine and it was pretty neat that they have a great variety of it on the menu.
Outstanding food and service
The georgian cheese bread was so good. I'm sad they will be closing next weekend, I will definitely look out for the new location!
Closing? Wrong information!
First, Georgian cuisine is wonderful. Second, the food at this restaurant did not disappoint. The flavors were wonderful while at the same time not heavy.
Food was great. Service was very good. Back garden is a nice space and tables were adequately spaced.
The famous cheese bread was absolutely declicious. Truthfully, it appeared somewhat undercooked and was very doughy - but I really enjoyed that. The pork ribs were also very good but it was deep fried pork, so, what's not too like? Our entrees were extremely disappointing - the lamb in the lamb shish kebob was dry, my fish "kebobs" were actually three strips of a catfish like thing with heavy seasoning. Service was satisfactory but nothing special. We spent over $100 for two without alcohol or dessert which seemed unusually steep for what we were given.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was flavorful and delicious! 🤤
A unique cuisine to have in the city, happy it is here!
This is a charming place to experience traditional Georgian food with a beautiful outdoor garden!
I had a wonderful lunch in the heated garden. The beet soup, salad and fish kebabs were all excellent. And the napoleon (for dessert) was just terrific. The service was excellent and the prices most reasonable. A wonderful, unique dining option in Greenwich Village.
Delicious! Food and service beyond spectacular!
Was a great experience - food was awesome! Hope to go back sometime.
Delicious food. Adjaruli Khachapuri is the best! Nice and warm patio in the garden. The only issue was they didn’t had bottled still water and looks like they are not really strong with sauces which is the whole part of Georgian cuisine. Chicken shush Kebob was amazing and properly marinated, but the sauce was really very moderate, tasted too vinegary and when I asked for the pomegranate sauce (narsharab) they said they don’t have it.
Overall love this place and good and will be back soon.
Lovely ambience and great heart-warming stews/dishes.
Amazing place! Great garden, delicious food and great service!
I loved it! Wine was so good
Beautifully decorated. Excellent cocktails. Superb Georgian cuisine
Great place for Georgian food.
Nice food, nice place, good stuff.
