Old Tbilisi Garden Is The Only Georgian Restaurant In Greenwich Village, New York City. Old Tbilisi Garden opened on July 4th, 2014. Since then, it has been one of the only few restaurants that offer authentic Georgian Cuisine in Manhattan. Winemaking is deeply rooted in Georgia’s history, culture
and economy. The world’s first cultivated grapevines are
thought to have originated in the country’s fertile valleys
some 8,000 years ago. Georgia’s long winemaking history
has given rise to unique methods of production, such as
the “Kakhetian rule”. Georgians make wine that is aged and
stored in a special cone-shaped clay vessel known as
a Qvevri.

It was our first time trying Georgian food and was very good! We ate in the garden, which is covered but there is ventilation. We wil go back to try more things.

Love their food! It may get quite pricey though. Khinkali are great, but more often than not they don't have lamb option.

Still the best Georgian restaurant around. The stuffed bread topped with an egg is really terrific here.

Cozy ambiance in the garden, great hearty food, very friendly staff. I think it was the owner's (?) birthday, they sent us some of his amazing walnut chocolate birthday cake. Highly recommend.

Both Me and my husband had really bad stomachache after this restaurant . Restaurant was empty on Friday night , no wonder why.. I love Georgian food and was very exited to visit this place , however , it was just disappointing. Lobio tasted like it’s made of conserve beans ; fish kebab didn’t taste like kebab at all... They seated us on a tiny table, however there were plenty of empty big tables around us . Very poor experience. ;(

Food was great but because of the service don't think we'll be back.

Place was empty, we had a party of 4. Wanted to sit at the table for 6 but they have moved us with explanation " it is not us, it is the manager". A manager was standing few steps aside but did not help.

inattentive service.

It's the perfect place to surprise date with not mainstream cuisine.
Hinkali is my favorite, but it's a common dish. I advise you to try their meat dishes - spices and herbs make my mouth water even then I write a review.
Khachapuri are great, but I get full with a quarter of a portion.
I rarely go with wine, but their Mukuzani is awesome.

I really want this place to succeed but the service was bad. Slow, entre before app, slow, no drink, slow, wrong check, slow. I will probably go again because I’d like this place to succeed; it’s good for the neighborhood.

It’s my fourth and last time in this restaurant. Every next time I go he value goes down. Now it is to the point where I don’t care to come back anymore. Service is not good. Dishes are tiny and overpriced. Wine mark up is ridiculous . ( think 10 dollars bottle for 60 $+). Used to be a good place and a good value. Not anymore. Food... not that good ether. Love Georgia food but not there

Food was awesome! Except the fact that all cooked pork in USA taste more like a plastic. This is not fault of any restaurant but the way animals grow in US and what it takes to grow them.

Nice place, first Georgian restaurant I have been to. We had some appetizers that were good— the crusted bread with cheese and egg (sort of a white pizza) was delicious. We shared a chicken dish in a creamy garlic sauce— the garlic was overwhelming and it just wasn’t good. The servers were polite, but very inattentive and service was very slow.

Food just was not good. That was not my first time in this restaurant. I used to love the food. And I was quite disappointed this time. Lamb shish kebab was so dry that we had to send it back. Chechen appetizer was also very dry despite the walnut sauce. I guess on sundays they give reheated leftovers from Saturday.

I was excited to try Georgian food. The place was nice, clean and back outdoor space was heated and in closed during winter. I made reservations and noted it was a special occasion. When we got there the hosts sat us in the middle or a crowded area when half the restaurant was empty. I asked to possible sit outdoors, she just said no. We ended up moving to front of place for room. Bread was amazing. Main entree was tasty but lamb was room temperature and no much to each as a side. My boyfriend got the kebab and it was dry and cold. Service wasn’t the best.

We enjoyed the food. The service was problematic: our waiter disappeared often. We asked for a fish to have the bones removed, different waiters delivered different answers (one returned the fish to the table saying they could not do it).

Our dinner entrees were disappointing, as the lamb kabobs were overcooked (medium + vs. the requested medium rare). The chicken dish (shkmeruli) did not have a lot of flavor and the "creamy"garlic sauce was rather thin, not at all creamy.
