As always, the food was sublime. No Hampton's hustle bustle. An early spring oasis before the area's summer madness begins.
They were empty but had run out of several dinner options including some of their regular menu items. Only had 3 choices of red wine to choose from. Never go back again.
On the expensive side for the type of food. Odd combination of Greek and steak as if they did not know which way to go. Restaurant is literally an old house. Such places cam have a rustic charm but not here. You are pretty much aware you are having dinner in an enclosed porch. The steak was cooked perfectly and they let the meat do the talking. It was not overly spiced and grilled perfectly. The steak sauce is excellent. The creamed spinach was too creamed and the garlic mashed were no better than Friday's or Applebees. Overall for the price ($52 for a Tbone) does not meet the standard it should.
such underwhelming food, I went two years ago and it was passable, but this was barely edible (and may have even made me sick) and the prices were high.
Consistent, solid place. Always delivers a great meal
It was closed !
This was very aggravating and ruined our evening!
Both Open Table and Old Stove Pub should be ashamed
Nothing special if interested in steak. Can't review anything else as that was what all of us had. Baked potatoes on small size, and creamed spinach is really lots of cream with some spinach thrown in. Uneatable.
This place has decent Greek food although I was a bit disappointed they weren't offering octopus the night we were there. Anyone who knows Greek cuisine understands a properly cooked octopus dish is a mainstay in Greek dining. Change that and our server's less than enthusiastic attitude, and I'd return for a second shot.
Greek dishes and salad excellent. Monster steak fine for three-flavorable , but a little tough. No coffee available for end of meal. Dessert enjoyed by all.
Just that we had a great waiter, delicious food and it was fun! We had 7 for dinner.
Always great food and great time at "the Stove". George is a great host and we are always taken well care of.
Food was great
Always an amazing meal in a great environment!
It is always pleasure dining at Old Stove Pub. The The food is excellent and the staff is quite gracious. It can get a bit noisy, but we are usually through with our dinner by that time. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
Cannot wait to go back again.
Food was very fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. Would definitely return.
always reliable, owner and staff are very friendly and inviting
The food was OK, but not good enough to justify a return visit anytime soon. The service was dreadful, apparently the result of some confusion as to who was to wait on our table. Of our order for 4 drinks, 2 came out together (after being told - after the order was taken - they were out of the beer they were featuring), the other 2 had to be requested again. Of the 4 dinners, 2 came out... small lag... then another... small lag... then the last. Our waiter disappeared to cover outside tables with no one picking up the slack. Had to request our table to be cleared, and the check. C'mon guys, this is your season: make it count.
Great relaxed atmosphere and food without any pretense. A fantastic place to unwind on the weekends. The horsehoes and other games in the yard for the kids to play with is an added benefit.
One of our favorite places on the East end. We love everything about it including the hands on attention to food, service, clientele given by George, the boss and family member.
This is a review of OpenTable. You confirmed the reservation and the restaurant was closed. We drove all the way there for a surprise for my wife. Last time I use your service.
Service was terrible
Maybe it was due to holiday weekend staffing issues
And cold rainy weather
Will not return on a holiday weekend during the summer
Food still very good, service solid but décor is extremely tired. I'm hoping that they put a little $ into some much needed improvements. Will not recommend until that is done.
Excellent table in the porch area provided great ambiance on a hot summer night but cool inside. Food was very good and our party of 4 enjoyed everything. Also had very good service.
The steaks are the best by far than any other place in the Hamptons. The staff cannot be any friendlier. A definite must is the baklava at your meals end. Better than any Greek pastry shop.
I miss the sign of my youth "When your fed up with the chic come to the Greek.
Our group has an amazing meal, all the Greek classics are to die for. The world class steak is outstanding. Welcoming and great for groups (although I have to admit first hand I know it's also great for dates) awesome vibes super good energy the food is truly delicious, all around a 5 star experience can't wait to go back
Mediocre food and horrible waiter. Wouldn't tell us all the specials, took our order, and then ignored us. Twenty minutes to get a drink. Luckily the manager stepped in and took over. He was terrific, but I won't be back.
Fantastic food , fun , great service ! Owners make you feel welcome & want to please! Fun for large groups / they like to break plates- a Greek tradition !
Had dinner here twice this summer and both times food and service were excellent! Had one past experience a couple of years ago where service was a disaster -- but they have fixed themselves. Manager George is charming and on top of things. Greek specialties and steaks are excellent. Nice ambiance inside or out. Able to accommodate "real" gluten allergy (celiac)!
Always a great meal. Recommend going on the later side as the place gets very lively towards the end of the night!
I love this place in the Winter. Because of the Hamptons crowd, in the Summer, the noise is unbearable. If you don't mind that, then go there. The food is outstanding.!!!
The place exceeded expectations. The people running the place couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. The food was also excellent. Very down to earth -- in Sagaponack of all places. Great places.
Food was fantastic....delicious. The fun started at 11PM....breaking plates and dancing!!!
Come with friends for a memorable night!
Very disappointed. Wait staff friendly but disorganized and inattentive. Thought we were going to a Greek restaurant, but it is more steak, burgers - only some of the appetizers, two gyro options and moussaka. I've eaten far better moussaka at Greek diners, for a lot less money than Hamptons pricing. Sorry to say but we'll pass the next time, there are too many other good restaurant options in the area with better food and more attentive wait staff.
Food was great as always and by nites' end, we were breaking plates with George.
He was a pleasure to have as waiter/owner.
Went here last weekend after not having been for a few seasons. The food was delicious! Highly recommended - great place to take the family for Greek food.
One of the few restaurants that stay open after the summer crowd has gone - pre fixe is a good value, nothing fancy but reliable and good food
Haven't been back for years, now with a new owner who really seems to enjoy what he does!!! Great (dbl great) Greek salad, warm grape leaves (never had them warm)....Moussaka , delicious ...even though not a fan of cinnamon...wine excellent and reasonably priced for a very nice "pour"... Will definitely be back!
After driving by for years decided to give this place a try. Disappointed on all levels. Food is mediocre.
Had the gyro and a Greek salad. Salad was big enough for three and gyro was large with a generous helping of fries. Overall food was very good. I sat outside and as the sun set there wasn't enough light for me to see my food on the plate. I had one tiny candle on the table. I didn't want to get up so I suffered through. Quite expensive for what is was. Had a glass of house wine and desert and bill was over 100 with tip.
We were pleasantly surprised by this classic restaurant. Lots of windows, nice bar, fireplace, and great food. Steak was delicious.
