Family dinner night couldn’t have been any better! Thank you to your fabulous staff for always making us feel at home and taken care of. Food was excellent as always, we will be back!
Great food, beverages, and Customer service. From the front to the back the service was excellent.
A great local steakhouse. Food was amazing and drinks were strong.
We both ordered the fillet. Mine was medium and my wife’s med-well. Both were over cooked and not very tender. If I had not know better I would have guessed it was a sirloin instead of a fillet.
Now with that said we have eaten at Old Stone many times before and it was delicious. Last night their games was off. They had a very large party on the outside and we think that may have stressed the kitchen.
We will definitely go back - just thought last night was not their best.
For the cost involved I was very disappointed with the food. Atmosphere was great and service was pretty good but what I ordered and what my wife ordered were not worthy of the price charged. Our friends ordered steak and I tasted it and it was pretty good. Still lacked a little flavor. Really enjoyed the time but wish I could give it a better review.
I was pleasantly surprised, I did not expect that type dining and service in Belmont, Nc
Food / wine outstanding. Our server was so attentive and courteous. We sat outside with the fireplace. So beautiful.......such a nice evening with friends (and masks)
Food was good. Will come back again with family
Very nice place to take customers, warm and professional staff.
Great atmosphere. Our food was great. The service was very good.
The food was really great, however, it would have been nice to have bread with the meal.
First time visit and after combing through the many reviews was excited to visit. Unfortunately, the food wasn't what I expected. Appetizers were served at room temperature or cooler and the soup, Tomato Bisque, was really just a tomato puree. Overall our party of three left unimpressed, but maybe just an off day for the restaurant.
The quality in food has gone down tremendously, my sons chicken fingers were terrible and they used to be really good. My chicken sandwich was just strange had a chewing ground meat taste not a usual chicken sandwich. The wedge salad was always wonderful it has changed and I was disappointed in it along with the Mac n chez. I’m all about changing the menu around but your basic good staples shouldn’t change. A different variation in entrees is always nice and don’t go down in the grade of the food.
We were celebrating a special birthday
The meats were delicious. I had a filet and my guest had the ribs. The filet was cooked to my requested temp and the ribs were tender. The sides on the other hand left much to be desired. The sautéed mushrooms were dry and a little burnt, the mashed potato was dry, the charred Brussels sprouts were not charred at all ... a few had brown edges, but mostly just mushy. All in all a mixed bag. Delicious meats, but mediocre sides do not match the premium price that was paid for the meal.
Very good as always! Thanks
Just a wonderful night out with my sister. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The only thing I didn’t love was the wedge salad. Cranberries and ranch don’t go well together.
Had dinner here for our anniversary. Food was great and so was the service. Ambience could have been better.
We have eaten at Old Stone several times within the last year and have not been disappointed. The food is excellent and the wait staff very accommodating.
Loved the restaurant. Didn’t realize our reservation was for out side dining, but they had heaters and the space was comfortable.
First of all the service was excellent! Honestly, that will always bring me back to a location. But the food was great also! My steak was cooked to perfection and the sweet potato was delicious! It had been awhile since we had visited Old Stone (even though we live in Belmont 🤦🏼♀️), but I am glad we went. We will be back sooner than later next time!
Rather pricey for lunch and small portion of main entre. Taste was excellent kind of made up for small serving size
A must dining experience whenever I'm in the Charlotte area. The food is excellent, the staff attentive, and the service impeccable. A great steak and smiles from the server and hostesses made my evening. Well done!
Both times that I have been there, I was with major chefs. (one from NY, the other from Turkey). Both eat everything and loved it. I myself really enjoy the food.
Looking forward to my next visit.
I have dined her several times and it is one of the best restaurants in Gaston County. I was a little disappointed this visit. The portions seemed extra small to me. My baked potato was the smallest potato I have ever seen. I did get the small filet which tasted fantastic but it seemed extra small to me as well. Salad was delicious. I don't remember them not having bread in the past but they did not offer any bread. Enjoyed the experience but seemed a little pricy for what I received.
The food was good, but not great. I was told it was one of the best places around. The grits were cool, not hot in both the shrimp and beef dishes. The pasta had a piccata sauce that was watery, like the pasta had not been drained well.
Great Value!! Steak and sides were amazing! And can’t beat the free wedge salad!
Really enjoyed my filet! Perfectly done every time and great service from Tyler. Owner Matt stopped at our table (always does) to ensure that we are enjoying food and service. A great dining experience every time!
I've enjoyed trying out some of the eateries/pubs in the Belmont area but mostly the very casual ones. I was hoping that by name alone, I would have a more upscale version here. As soon as I walked in, I realized it felt more like a very small chain environment. I accidentally had my mask in my pocket and when I quickly remembered, while reaching for it, the hostess said not to worry about it. That didn't exactly make me feel too comfortable about safety precautions. As a bourbon drinker, the offerings were very subpar and I had to opt for one I don't care for but it was the best of the worst. We ordered calamari for an app and it the portion was really small. I had to hold back so we could split it somewhat evenly. It lacked flavor, especially in the seasoning (or lack thereof) and was room temp. Batter was very plain without much texture or color.
At that point, I knew I wasn't wasting money on a steak I would be disappointed with, so I just opted for a grilled chicken Caesar salad which is pretty hard to mess up. It was actually good with an ample amount of chicken but again, a pretty small portion for the price. My date also ordered a salad and wasn't blown away with it. Overall, our bill was close to $100 without tip for two salads and two drinks each. I'm in Charlotte and I know that for this price tag, we could have had an amazing meal at one of many quality restaurants here. The drinks and salads were way too overpriced. That selection, including the appetizer which wasn't that expensive, should never push $100.
It was a date and despite asking for an element of privacy, it's not happening in this place. We were seated right by the entrance to the bathrooms and kitchen. I was in a chair and my date in a mini booth with a ton of passing foot traffic. I can't recommend going here and certainly not worth driving from south Charlotte to. Didn't help their sister place, The Jailhouse, wasn't open so we had a great experience next door at Sammy's.
The service and food was pretty good. The only thing I have an issue with is the 3.95 up charge to switch from the wedge salad the the Caesar salad. It doesn’t make since when the Caesar is only a dollar more on the menu. Gotta watch this place they will nickel and dime you for every little thing.
Delicious meal, great service. Only complaint was that they were out of the wine we ordered.
Always a delicious dinner and great atmosphere. I was there for a girls night and we all enjoyed!
Brought a friend here for lunch for the first time and he was pleased with the food and selection of beverages. I have been here several times in the past and have brought many other friends who also were pleasantly surprised with the food and service.
Bonus note: there are two charging stations for Tesla cars on the side of the outdoor patio-I drive a Plug-in Prius which does NOT fit the Tesla charging stations but it is great to see establishments preparing for the future of electric vehicles!
Great steak, salad and price. Bar service had great martini.
Delicious meal as always! Brett was our server and gave excellent service too! Quality...quality....quality!
Best steak I have ever had! The fried green tomatoes appetizer was to die for!!
Good food with a varied menu.
Everyone can find something they want!
Try the chocolate creme brûlée - best dessert that isn’t over the top sweet!!!
Our steaks were good. Mine was overly salted (Rib eye). Husbands Filet was fine.
Wonderful place we love the food and service. Always outstanding.
Great place. Food was excellent, good service and reasonable price.
