Had a wonderful light dinner with my boyfriend. Pemaquid oysters were so fresh, Scallops appetizer melted in my mouth. Enjoyed a lovely glass of Fess Parker Chardonnay. Really nice menu, great waitstaff.

Portland is a very competitive town for restaurants. This place anywhere else you would always have a line out the door

The raw appetizer with lobster, shrimp, oysters and clams was superb. My fish and chips was excellent; my wife's swordfish was cooked more than she liked and thinner than she thought it would be but she still enjoyed it.

I never have a bad experience at Old Port Sea Grill. The food is predictably excellent, the drinks are well-made (thank you, Ian!), and the service is quick and spot on. It's a great place to bring people from out of town--good for visitors--and the location cannot be beat. Oysters are great, the chowder is a-MAZ-ing, the smoked salmon "butter" is addictive, and the calmari is over the top. I recommend this spot for any occasion. It's a tad on the loud side, but that brings energy and fun. Open Table was a great way to make reservations. A lovely night!

We initially had a long wait due to a large group that night, but the manager was extremely attentive and provided some free appetizers & drinks in the interim. Food was excellent, worth the wait, and I would not hesitate to return next time we visit Portland.

Our first time here, and I think we will return. Clearly, you have to like seafood, because there are not many other choices. Everything seemed fresh and tasty, with four choices of sauces for broiled seafood.

We met friends who came to Portland on a cruise coming into the Ocean Terminal. Restaurant was a short walk from the dock. They said all they wanted was lobster, which they loved. Lobsters were between soft and hard shell, so very easy to eat. They also had clam chowder and Ceasar salad - everything that we had was great. My husband and I had delicious grilled swordfish and I had fresh clams. All in all a very positive experience.

We arrived a little early and they were able to seat us which was nice. The service was excellent, can’t remember our server’s name but she was from Greece and she was attentive and friendly. Bread with a yummy salmon Pate was complimentary. We both ordered the halibut which was delicious. It came with green beans and potatoes but I substituted Brussels sprouts for the potatoes and loved the entire meal!

My husband I visited this restaurant for our Anniversary dinner while in Portland. The food was excellent, the server was great and the atmosphere was very nice. If you are looking for local and fresh seafood I would highly recommend. The prices were not out of line with the other dining spots in the area.

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge in our hotel. We gave it 5 stars. There was a variety of dishes to choose from. Everything was presented very nicely. The meals were delicious. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and come back.

I was disappointed. The restaurant was not particulsrly busy but it felt like we were rushed through. Very unwelcoming service people. Ambiance tended toward school cafeteria. Waitress was quite cool. Yet as pricey as any in the area.

OPSG has curb appeal and looked inviting …online - but dinner was a disappointment -zero ambiance and food that was just so-so. Average wine list . We both had whole lobster
that had not been fully drained before plating so the plate was a mess and my roasting fingerling potatoes became mushy before I could finish . Bottom line - will not return, and will not recommend .

We discovered Old Port Sea Grill on our first trip to Portland, maybe 12 years ago. This is a great place. It always seems to be underrated for some reason. Consequently, we always can get in. Last time we ordered the large sampler with a Caesar salad. We ate at the bar, excellent food and excellent service. The seafood was terrific, cooked and chilled perfectly. We will be back!

Went a few nights ago expecting to have a really nice dinner. Our outcome was more like Ok considering we are talking $30 plus plates I was expecting more. The raw bar was excellent, but besides that none of our plates really impressed us.

We were in Maine for a family dinner before my son left for the army. Based on the reviews I was really looking forward to dinner. Unfortunately it was disappointing. We waited quite a while for the waitress to come over. She was so quiet and had no energy. It was hard to even hear her. The food was ok. Nothing special. Menu was limited. I had to send my mussels back because it was covered in red pepper and was way too spicy. They did make a new one and it was fine. Overall unremarkable

Not great, fair. Greens served practically raw, very crunchy. Grilled shrimp too saturated with. butter. Lobster pasta dish too heavily sauced. Hey we all know to cut butter/grease/heaviness of sauces. I am more tempted to stay away from restaurants now because they just don't get it. Simplistic, unsaturated dishes are so much better tasting if you start with good ingredients and are better for you.

When we arrived at 12:30 it was empty...a bad sign since the town of Portland was hopping with the high season tourism in full force. We quickly understood why: it was a while before a waitress came by. She was engaged in conversation but eventually remembered us. From then on service was actually quite good and the food was very good. But the prices were the other problem: $3.50 for oysters is extravagant. But the sticker shock put us in a bad mood since, frankly, the oysters didn't have to travel very far to get on to our plate. So, an empty restaurant should provide fast service and the prices on oysters reconsidered. And another thing: since we had a party of 8 there was an automatic gratuity calculated - which is a common practice. But old Sea port grill determined that their gratuity should be 20%. We left feeling a bit ripped off given the initial neglect.

The food, location, service and ambiance were great. Definitely bring a warm sweater- it was cold... maybe because of the raw bar. Great selection of Maine oysters- delicious!

We were on vacation and had dined at several top restaurants in Portland. The Old Port Sea Grill was as good as those restaurants. We started with clams, oysters and shrimp which was amazing. Our fish entrees were cooked perfectly. Our server was very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
