The Old Oyster Factory was a very pleasant surprise for my wife and I on our night out celebrating my birthday. The food was very good overall with great presentation and creative combinations. However, the highlight of our visit was the service rendered by our waiter, Petey. He was very accommodating and attentive. Just a great overall experience and we'll be back!

Once again we had a fabulous meal. The smoke salmon for a starter is still the best around. For a main course we had the pecan crusted grouper with rice and vegetables. Afterward a side salad. We would have had coffee and desert, but our waitress was not available. This was our only complaint of the evening. We had several different people wait on the table, so things went smoothly until we were finished with the salad. Still this isn't going to stop us from returning again.

The place is very nice with good local seafood options, however not everything on the menu was available. The oysters were great, though vegetables were basically raw, which was unexpected. The service was very good and personable. Wine is reasonably overpriced. So, overall good with some hiccups.

Dinner for new year eve. Not very busy. Did have reservation. Husband enjoyed the salmon and I had bone in pork chop wasn’t cooked well done but left the pinker pieces. Would have liked the ice cream for dessert but too cold out had key lime pie instead.

Excellent service from James. Very friendly, attentive and informative about the menu. Kept our water and beverage glasses full without being asked to do so and without being intrusive. Food dishes superb and very delicious!!

Oysters well played, fish fresh, crabby crabcake. A fine place with reasonable prices and ample quantities.

Our favorite restaurant on Hilton Head Island. Always prepared perfectly from one of their friendly and capable staff. We love being able to reserve a table on Open Table too, we’ve never had an unreasonable wait to be seated.

Cannot get fresher sea food and Service is always excellent! Friend them on Facebook to find their events and specials which are not always listed on their regular menu.Very accommodating for handicapped. There is a wheel chair elevator. Many times I plan my trips from N.Y. to correspond with their events.

We loved the atmosphere and the food was wonderful. We had a table overlooking the water and enjoyed the lights over the waterway but I would recommend dining during daylight hours if you want to get the most enjoyment out of the view. I would definitely make a return visit next time I'm on Hilton Head!

We had a great experience. Service was very good. The food was very fresh and very good. The hush puppies were killer. They were so delicious, best I have ever eaten. I was told to go to watch the sun set. But when sunset is at 5 PM, we had to settle for going when it was already dark. The tables were spaced very well so you could not overhear other conversations. We would definitely go back.

Fabulous setting and gorgeous sunset. Service was efficient, though a little too quick for European tastes. The main course arrived before the starter plates had been cleared. Would go again.

Booked a table for a sunset view. They have a reduced price menu for sunset dining since it was off season and early evening. Nice selection of items to choose from but was disappointed that the crab cake platter only had one crab cake as an entree. The crab cake was tasty as was the gumbo. They give you a large basket of hush puppies for the table, which were very good. Restaurant has large glass windows overlooking Broad Creek which gives you a great view of the sunset. Well worth timing you dinner or drinks at the bar to see it.

Crab and artichoke dip was one of the best I’ve ever had. Old Fashioned cocktails a must. Tilapia was average and could have used more of a flavorful topping to make it really good as it can sometimes be a bland fish. Was hoping for more of a selection of oysters considering.. from VA, so wasn’t interested in getting my regular old reliable James River pearls for twic what I usually pay at home. I would still go back and try it again...

A friend and I went to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. First of all we got a server who was young and must have thought two women together wouldn't leave a good tip. First he rushed us and then he ignored us and waited on bigger parties. I tried to wave him down a couple of times with no response. Finally I followed him to the back area and told him exactly how I felt. He tried to make excuses but they weren't good enough. Another female server or many a supervisor overheard and she sent a female server who did do a good job. But the food was mediocre to say the least and for the taste of the food was overpriced. By the way I have been a server although a number of years ago and I am a good tipper, but not when the service is poor. I can overlook poor food if the service is good although. I left a good tip for the new server. But someone needs to explain to this young man that he should treat all customers the same and not overlook a party of two, gender or not. I have waited on big parties that didn't leave as good a tip as a party of two.

Went for Thanksgiving Dinner as we were on vacation and didn’t want to do all the cooking ourselves. Restaurant is lovely and the location does have amazing views of the marsh and waterways. The Thanksgiving menu had enough variety to suit everyone st our table, and the service was excellent. Our server went out of his way to be great with our kids and mother. All the food was excellent, except for the turkey, which was a pressed together “breast”. That’s the only reason it gets 4 stars. If a particular item is the star of the day, it’s best to go for the whole thing, and not cheap out on it. Everything else was excellent.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner if I had one complaint it would be too much food, it was very good but after the first two courses I could not enjoy my main course as much as I wanted too. No complaint really just wish I had eaten only half of the first two courses so I could have eaten more of the three course. I guess this is a nice problem to have. We love the Old Oyster Factory and hope to return next year.

Our Server, Brittney was amazing- so friendly & attentive. Her manager Bob was especially knowledgeable about the various oysters; and even brought 3 different ones for us to try, on the house! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was great! Looking forward to returning in a week!
