Old Oyster Factory Ratings and Reviews
Great dinner, when in the area we will certainly return. Food and view were of an inland waterway. We ate outside, had a small dog with us and it was perfect. Even though we sat outside we were still offered the .50 cent bar specials of shrimp and oysters. The also had early entrees that included soup or a salad a drink and an entree. The Maui Maui was delicious. Sorry I couldn’t wait for the camera, the photo is partially post consumption!
We went for Valentines and had a late reservation so it was quiet and we had a nice table by the window. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was good. We really liked the local oysters, crab and asparagus soup, crab cakes, and the marscapone dessert. The waiter wrote Happy Valentines Day on our dessert plate which was a very sweet, nice touch.
This place has the best “Happy Hour”! Where can you get fresh oysters on the half shee and shrimp for $.50 each? No where else but here and then there is the discount on the drinks, too. And the wait staff - especially Eloise out in the bar - is wonderful. We love the place and go frequently for the sunsets, too!
Great view. Friendly staff. Nice presentation on plate. We went for early doing, very reasonably priced...but, our soup and vegetables were lukewarm. They had been sitting for some time. Overall, I thought it was very nice, just disappointed in the food temperatures. I would have asked for the soup to be heated, but no one came until time to clear the bowls.
We choose to dine during the restaurants Blue Moon Bonfire Oyster Roast but ended up sitting at a "normal" table for our dinner. We ordered off of the normal menu and even though the place was packed inside and out, our service and meal arrived promptly. We love this place as it is set on Broad Creek and has beautiful sunsets as well as great food!
The food and the service were outstanding. Our waiter filled us in on all of the specials for the day, answered all our questions about menu items and was very attentive to our needs. The meals were delicious and the staff was concerned that all was good. when we mentioned that one of the vegetables did not come out hot, they were immediately replaced with a fresh, hot serving and we were given a heart-felt apology. The way all was handled did not detract from the meal at all and only added to the good feeling about the staff and management. We will be back and hope to bring friends along to taste the great selections from a very good menu.
We ordered Australian Sea Bass & it was spectacular! Low country boil with crab legs, shrimp, mussels and clams (crab could have been more). Two steaks and one was ordered medium and came rare. Sent it back and they only took back the steak 😏 Oysters on the half she'll for .50/each in the bar for happy hour were great! Desserts were to die for!!!
Gorgeous view, great service! Menu was awesome, but execution was poor. We had apps and entrees, nothing quite worked. This was our first time at this restaurant, so maybe it was just a bad night. The bar looked very popular, so maybe the bar menu is a better way to go.
Old Oyster Factory never seems to disappoint. Great food and service. When I made the reservation online I had checked that we were celebrating a birthday and to my surprise they brought a wonderful desert to the birthday girl at the end of our meal. Such a sweet gesture. Love this restaurant and would recommend to anyone.
We normally love old oyster factory, but this time food was mediocre. My risotto was cold and our waiter seemed curt and a bit overwhelmed. We had to ask for the bucket special menus and were asked if we needed another drink— not sure what was up that night as it is one of our favorite places
My wife and I spent our 40th anniversary out to dinner at this wonderful place. The food was excellent. The waiter was great and helpful. The scenic view was beautiful. Also the atmosphere was vibrant. The only bad experience we had was that OpenTable somehow did not get our reservation to them. But they got As in quickly regardless.
Every party member thoroughly enjoyed their entre’ choice and it’s presentation. Our waitress was truly attentive and efficient (Party 7) and always pleasant and smiling. The noise atmosphere at first was a little distracting but after a large party departed it imrproved considerably. Our guests thought the view was particularly beautiful as the clear sky evolved and was star and moon light. Hush puppies always get 5 stars!!!!!
The Old Oyster Factory was a very pleasant surprise for my wife and I on our night out celebrating my birthday. The food was very good overall with great presentation and creative combinations. However, the highlight of our visit was the service rendered by our waiter, Petey. He was very accommodating and attentive. Just a great overall experience and we'll be back!
Carrie, our server, was very well mannered and knowledgeable regarding menu
She was very efficient ,pleasant and gracious.
Prior to our leaving, she found us and presented me with a delicious ice cream dessert to celebrate my birthday
Food from appetizer oysters to main meal was outstanding
Will most certainly recommend to friends and family!!
Once again we had a fabulous meal. The smoke salmon for a starter is still the best around. For a main course we had the pecan crusted grouper with rice and vegetables. Afterward a side salad. We would have had coffee and desert, but our waitress was not available. This was our only complaint of the evening. We had several different people wait on the table, so things went smoothly until we were finished with the salad. Still this isn't going to stop us from returning again.
The place is very nice with good local seafood options, however not everything on the menu was available. The oysters were great, though vegetables were basically raw, which was unexpected. The service was very good and personable. Wine is reasonably overpriced. So, overall good with some hiccups.
