About Old Homestead - Caesars Palace Las Vegas

A bit of East Coast steakhouse tradition is reinvented at Caesars Palace with the Las Vegas outpost of New York City landmark Old Homestead. Brothers Marc and Greg Sherry, whose family has been associated with the original Old Homestead (est. 1868) for decades, let Vegas get a taste of its fine cuts and legendary history.

Complemented by sultry décor, dark woods and burgundy leather booths, Old Homestead's urban dining room and bar feels like a familiar favorite. (The glass wine cellar holding 15,000 bottles doesn't hurt, either.)

Many beloved American favorites are featured here, such as applewood smoked bacon, calamari, Kobe meatballs, warm doughnut bread pudding and New York-style classic cheesecake. Ranging from the New York Strip to Porterhouse for Two, its standout are the famous cuts of meat, selected and butchered with attention to detail that made the original so famous.

The best crab cakes I've ever had! The scallops and the salmon were great as well. The entrees had a very nice presentation. I will definitely return next time I'm in Vegas.

Steaks were okay. Bordelaise sauce was very salty. If food had a wow factor the $400.00 bill would have made it worth it. There was no wow factor to the food served.

Food and service was great! Had a less than perfect ribeye but our waiter and the general manager, Mr. Yuhara, fixed the problem more than adequately. Great job!

All of Las Vegas has become incredibly expensive. This is no exception. Plus, Caesar's now charges for self parking which we did not know. We drove from our hotel to dinner at the Old Homestead and parked in the structure. Parking cost a minimum $12 with no validations available from the Old Homestead or any restaurant inside Caesar's Palace. All things considered really need to start thinking about other venues. Las Vegas is well on its way to pricing itself out of a steady market.

Disgustingly high price, even for a Vegas steakhouse. You can get a much more premium experience and better food elsewhere.

Our meal was very good. We had the lollipop ribeye. And it was delicious. One thing we didn’t like was there was pets allowed. At this type of establishment there should be a no pet rule

We ordered the lollipop rib eye to share. It wasn’t cooked to the tempature we ordered but it wasn’t bad enough to send back (and we dined late and it was close to closing so I didn’t want to burden the kitchen). In addition to it being a little under medium-rare (the center was blue and cold), the quality was not what I’d expect for a $125 steak. It was tough and did not have great flavor. We left a lot on the plate as it was not pleasant to eat. The duck fat fries were awesome though. I wouldn’t go back. There are many other steak joints on the strip that will give you a better steak for similar money, or less.

The service is top-shelf. The ambiance is comfortable. The Kitchen Sink Salad is de-li-cious. The calimari appetizer is very generous. The asparagus appetizer is very good, crisp and nutty, but way too much for two people. The menu is about 10 to 20% overpriced. I have just one complaint. I ordered the New York Strip. Looked beautiful, great aroma, cooked to order and tasty. However, it was so full of grizzle that I could swallow very little of it. That was disappointing since they advertise as the best steaks one can buy.

The Old Homestead was recommended to us and we have never been to a top steak house before so decided to cancel our reservation at TBones and go. Mistake, the seating is cramped and we paid to much for a steak that we shared - Porterhouse for 2 was $125.00 and it had to much gristle and not enough flavor to warrant paying that much. We were very disappointed and our waiter was to busy and forgot that we were there for my husband's 65th Birthday. He did quickly bring a piece of something but never wished my husband a happy birthday. Our meal did come to $270.00 with the tip. More than we have ever paid in our lives. We wanted special memories and never made them at the Old Homestead!

We went here for our meal before Celine Dion. Perfect location to the colosseum. Service felt a but rushed. We had finished our entire meal in 1 hour. We started with delicious soups- lobster bisque and French onion. They were creamy and rich. We shared the 38oz steak, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly at medium rare. We shared the macaroni and cheese, creamed bacon spinach, and gratin potatoes. It was a lot of food and we had plenty left over. The food was delicious.

Our visit was part of a Christmas celebration in Vegas. We are from South Africa and are quite proud of our own meat and seafood back home, so our expectations were high. Both dishes were absolutely superb at old Homestead.

A couple of small gripes- a side order of asparagus did not materialize. Our table for two was side on to a high booth. The exuberance of the patrons there rocked our table and when we edged it away it continued to be a little rocky. The staff sorted it out promptly.

We decided to visit Old Homestead for the first time. Our usual “go to” is The Palm located in Caesar’s Forum Shops. My Christmas Day special several course dinner was excellent. The Caesar salad was very good and tasted strongly of anchovies, though no actual anchovies were on the salad. Prime rib was done perfectly and was very flavorful. The creme brûlée was rich and creamy. My partner had the surf and turf. He enjoyed both the steak and the accompanying lobster tail. I did notice that the lobster was advertised and priced as a Maine tail, but when served was actually a west coast / Australian tail. As the dining, flavor, and price differential are significant, I notified our server who spoke with a manager. The tail was removed from our bill. It’s always worth noting that you are actually getting what you’re paying for. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant are warm and inviting, but the noise level was surprisingly high. Though I enjoyed my meal, the overall dining experience and value for the money is superior at The Palm in the Forum Shops just beyond Old Homestead. You’ll be more content to pass Old Homestead and walk a few minutes more.

The food was tasty. However, the service wasn't quite what we expected. The waiters were very rude and had an attitud towards us, looking down on us as we asked for opinions on the menu, answering everytime in a very disrespectful way, as if we didn't deserve his attention.

The service here was stupendous however that alone does not justify the very high cost of a steak. I've had steaks justt as good back home at half the price and without the al la carte menu. If you have money to burn and want a nice leisurely meal with excellent service, okay try this place.

Service here is impeccable! You don't feel like just another table. James made us feel like family! Great conversations, which is something we enjoy when we're out. The lobster bisque was fantastic, not chalky like many places. The truffled gnocchi was out of this world. The lobster mac was almost overboard on cheese if there is such a thing. The steak was cooked to perfection, although I have had slightly better steaks for the money. That being said, the food was very good, service was better, but overall very overpriced.

Nestled in the middle of Caesars Palace, it is able to keep the noise down even though there is much action walking through the area. Great Steaks made to order and the service was superb. Never rushed but entrees received in a timely manner. Waiter and staff were attentive without being overbearing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Our waiter, Rito, made excellent dinner recommendations and provided first class service.
My wife and I shared the Lollipop Ribeye (for 2). Kids had 8 oz filet and hamburger.
Meats were cooked to order and perfection. Enjoyed the family style sides.

Ambiance was fine!! Service was great. My husband & I order the calimari for an appetizer. That was good. We ordered as the main course the boomerang (a ribeye on the bone for two) as well as the potatoe Au gratings a side... The ribeye was cooked perfect but for $125 the quality not so great. We expected it to be at least as tender as the angus ribeye we buy at home from a restaurant distributor. That was not the case....so for us it was just to pricey for the quality...we did however go to the Paris hotel the restaurant Bon Ami Gabi it was excellent and half the price..we had the baked goat cheese with marinara it was fine..they did serve it very fast we hardly got to have a sip of our wine..main course I had the filet it was cooked perfect hasd a lite sauce. My husband had the hanger steak it was cooked perfect as well and a sauce as well ...the quality of the meat was up to the price that we paid for it.
