About Old Homestead - Caesars Palace Las Vegas
A bit of East Coast steakhouse tradition is reinvented at Caesars Palace with the Las Vegas outpost of New York City landmark Old Homestead. Brothers Marc and Greg Sherry, whose family has been associated with the original Old Homestead (est. 1868) for decades, let Vegas get a taste of its fine cuts and legendary history.
Complemented by sultry décor, dark woods and burgundy leather booths, Old Homestead's urban dining room and bar feels like a familiar favorite. (The glass wine cellar holding 15,000 bottles doesn't hurt, either.)
Many beloved American favorites are featured here, such as applewood smoked bacon, calamari, Kobe meatballs, warm doughnut bread pudding and New York-style classic cheesecake. Ranging from the New York Strip to Porterhouse for Two, its standout are the famous cuts of meat, selected and butchered with attention to detail that made the original so famous.

Old Homestead - Caesars Palace Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Exceptional experience! This was probably our 4th visit to this restaurant. They all have been excellent, but this one was even more outstanding than the others. We really liked booth number seven as it was a bit more secluded from the rest of the restaurant, but still afforded us great people watching opportunity. The food was amazing. We had the "lollipop" ribeye for two, and was quite possibly the best steak we have ever had, and we have been to many top notch places over the years. Wine was excellent, and the service provided also was exceptional. We will definitely be back
Food was good but very over priced for what was presented. Disappointed with waiter, we had brought a very special bottle of wine, he indicated they had a $50 corkage but upon looking at his wine list they didn't have that wine, said he would have corkage removed after asking his supervisor. Waiter never returned to the table until bill was presented saying he couldn't remove corkage. Presented very poorly if they have a corkage, they have a corkage, no need to play some non classy game.
We both ordered the filet, Medium. Mine came out Medium Rare and my daughter's came out Medium Well. Not sure how that happens if they both go on the grill at the same time. However, having said that, they were excellent. I also had the French Onion Soup and loved it. She had the grilled Asparagus and we both enjoyed that.
As with our previous visits the food and presentation was very good however the service we received left a lot to be desired. Our waiter talked way more then he listened resulting in getting our order incorrect. He was clearly in a hurry and was pushing the specials before our guests arrived. Wine was empty for a long time, he forgot the bread before dinner and we had to waive him down to get the check. For how pricy yet great the food is the service should have been much better.
When in Vegas I like to splurge on a meal or two. I usually try different steakhouses to see what’s out there, but I almost always order lamb. My bf loves NY strips and had high expectations for his 30 dry aged $66 steak, which was really disappointing, dry, slightly over cooked and under seasoned. Both of us work in the industry so we didn’t send it back, but we should have. I gave three stars for the food because my lamb was perfection. Service was standard, waters were filled and wine was flowing. Just super disappointed with his steak, and it is a steak house.
My husband's rib eye steak was rancid and spoiled. We were lucky he didn't get sick. when we told the waiter about it...he was very apologetic...and ensured us that he would get his alternate order out as soon as possible. 20 minutes later his meal arrived...after we were all done eating. the manager stopped by to tell us that there was a problem with the entire line of steak and she had pulled it from the menu to investigate. but she did not offer us anything to make up for the spoiled dinner. we had been looking forward to the steak house for weeks...and were so disappointed - we will never return. they even charged us for my husband's replacement meal - which he took to go since everyone else was done eating. the manager should have at least not charged us for the replacement meal....but there it was on the bill. the smell from the spoiled meat was awful. do not eat here - it is not worth it....
We’ve eaten several times at the Old Homestead in NYC and we absolutely love it but this! This was the worst experience in the history of dining. Waited forever to be acknowledged once we were seated and when we finally were the waiter stopped my wife mid-question to yell a goodbye to departing customers who he then went over to hug. Once back, he said they were regulars, which, given his treatment of us so far, we will likely never be. We ordered the large ($100+) ribeye to share along with appetizers, wine, sides - the whole 9 yards as I turn 65 in a week. The steak smelled bad, was over cooked and was otherwise totally inedible. When our waiter came by he stated that they never should have served this and whisked it away but left all of the sides to get cold while they would try to fire a new steak. Given its size, this strategy was inane and unworkable. We asked for the Maitre D’. Our waiter then came over and began telling this gentleman that he did not serve the steak and that it wasn’t his fault. That appeared more important to both of them than our situation. Given the lateness of the hour and the experience thus far we just wanted to leave. We offered to pay for what we had consumed but were told it wasn’t necessary but no other offer was made to us to come back or to otherwise let us know that we were of any value to them as customers. As a result we will no longer patronize either Old Homestead, nor will anyone we know to whom we tell of this experience.
Food was amazing. Server seemed over subscribed as our drinks sat empty from before apps to after main course. Server also seemed to be working at his own pace and not really paying attention to any of his tables. Support staff did a great job with bread, water, plate clearing etc...
The steak was fantastic. I entertain a lot of clients at a lot of different steakhouses and I would not hesitate coming back. Great service, great setting and the apps and steaks were again, fantastic. Last I though the value of what I got was in par with the cost of the meal.
Was looking for a steakhouse and Old Homestead had tables available with a 3 hour reservation. So glad the other more marketed places were full up. Had mac n cheese, asparagus and fillet..... everything was perfect. Sat next to the walkway to the casino which was good for us for people watching. Might want to sit back in the restaurant if you have a romantic date. On my list to return on another trip.
I enjoyed dinner here two nights in a row. The food was so fabulous the first night, I recommended it to friends for our second night of dining. The wait staff was very courteous and professional. The best of all is the food. My filet mingon melted in my mouth!
