View Private Dining DetailsIt was a business/celebratory dinner. Wine was good, steaks excellent and we had potatoes and spinach...perfect.
Attentive service, good ambience. Sides were excellent, with peewee potatoes being the least interesting. Steaks were great, although my ribeye came a little overdone, but was recooked quickly. My favorite restaurant in the National Harbor area
Service was awful. When brought to the attention of management, the response was indifferent and inadequate
Joe was our server and he took very good care of us. Made my husband's birthday extre special. Bryan told us August was renovation month, look forward to the new look.
Service was awful.... spent 2000 and got treated like we didn’t even matter.... nobody seemed to care about the customer ... got charged 18% for our party of 8 automatically ... so matc our waiter didn’t even try to make us happy knowing he was getting a good tip anyways.... food was decent at best.... not worth the money or my time.... was expecting way more....
We still had our seafood platter on the table when the dessert arrived. The waiter was a bit off and dinner lasted 3 hours for our small group!
It was very cold in the restaurant. Although it’s April it was very chilly outside and it felt like the AC was on!
Our waiter Andrew was very pretentious and not terribly personable. He was not rude but a bit cold and dismissive.
The food was delicious once we got it. But the wait to get our food was way too long. It was almost 45 mins from salad to entree. They kept saying it was coming and it wasn’t. Service was just ok. A number of times we had to keep asking for same things again because it had been forgotten.
Filets were very good. Service could have been better. Considering that we had a reservation and the restaurant was not very busy, I was puzzled that we had to wait over 15 minutes to be seated.
had an excellent family gathering here and it was very enjoyable.
Great Service. Great Ambiance. The food was just “ok”.
This become one of my favorite restaurants whenever where at Nation Harbor.
The service is truly five star! Andrew was most gracious and very helpful is recommending dinner and dessert choices.
Multiple things on menu were not available. Also ordered a fine whiskey to be told they are also out. Good food , but nothing spectacular and service e was average at best
Our filets were grilled to perfection! Staff was extremely courteous. Overall, it was an amazing dining experience!
Solid steakhouse after a bit of confusion about who was going to seat us. Menus got passed to three different staff. We were left standing, waiting not sure who to follow. Finally seating. Food and service was great!
We stayed at the Gaylord for our anniversary, so we tried the Old Hickory Steakhouse. They didn’t disappoint!! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the restaurant and our server (Andrew) was OUTSTANDING!!
We’re definitely going back!!
Went here with some friends before a concert at the MGM, everything was excellent. Food and service was top notch along with the ambiance. Perfect for a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends. Will be back.
Waiter was super friendly, recommended many items. Food was ok, Mac and cheese was terrible couldn’t eat it, and several peoples steaks were not cooked to specifications. Probably would not spend the money to come back
The food was undercooked, the service was very slow, and the cost of the meal was very high. I would not recommend this restaurant.
It was super loud, people were face timing and getting loud phone calls. Our steak was fatty and our mashed potatoes were cold. A disappointment for our 36th Wedding Anniversary. It is beautiful and has great staff and a beautiful fire place and nice views. Not worth the money. We were very disappointed but we did not say anything because it was our Wedding Anniversary.
60th Birthday for him
What a lovely evening - as always. Thank you Old Hickory.
Amazing. Expensive. LOL. But worth it.
This was the best restaurant that we visited during our stay for a cheer competition. It was expensive but worth every penny. Spend the extra money on a meal here instead of the other restaurants!
Service was poor. Food not cooked as requested. Steak was raw instead of medium.
Amazing experience - everything from the Hostess to our waiter to the amazing food! Perfect!
The restaurant is beautiful located in National Harbor Gaylord Hotel. My only gripe is it took almost an hour to get our food once we ordered. I mentioned it to the waiter and was told they were very busy. I think the wait time is unacceptable. It was a great restaurant other than that.
We were very disappointed with Old Hickory. My husband ordered a non-alcoholic beer that was on the menu, but they were out of it. My husband and daughter ordered the Tomahawk Steak to share, but they were out of it. We ordered the steak carpaccio for an horderve, but it "wasn't up to standard" or so the chef thought. Let me remind you that it is a steak house. The waiter avoided our table and NEVER sent a manager over to talk with us. It was our hope to have a wonderful dinner with our daughters, since it isn't often that we are all together with our work schedules. We will never go there again and we will never recommend it to our friends.
We choose here for our anniversary. Our reservation was 7:30, ordered drinks and appetizers (which were both tasty) and then waited and waited for our entrees. We never received our steaks. Finally at 9 we had to ask for our check because we needed to make a 10 pm show at the MGM. I still can’t believe that we never got our steaks. Even if the grill wasn’t working properly, we should have been notified well in advance so we could get something else. Wish I could review the steaks but it wasn’t for me to taste it.
Made reservation at seven. Arrived on time are were seated fairly quickly. They have a nice cheese selection for their cheese plates. However, we ordered our a meal before 7:15, my boyfriend and split a New York strip and ordered two sides) and we didn’t get our meal until 9:10-9:20. So we waited over two hours and were starving. Something must have happened in the kitchen. Took way too long for our meal and they didn’t even compensate anything off our bill and kept telling us for the past hour before 9 “it should be out shortly.” Food was fine, not worth the wait though.
2 1/2 hours to get our food. No communication from the staff. Under seasoned food when it finally came out.
Unfortunately, the meal we ordered never made it to the table. Service was slow, but - only after asking after waiting three hours - we found out that the grill was broken and they had just gotten it fixed when we had to leave. This is something that should have been communicated upfront and would have enabled us to make other plans. Instead of a fantastic anniversary meal, it turned into an expensive bar tab with a couple of drinks and some cheese.
No manager ever stopped by our table to offer an explanation. We would have expected such at the price point of this restaurant. We would have understood given the catastrophic damage our area experienced the past couple of days, but no communication left us feeling that customers were a second thought.
We cannot recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful restaurant inside and out. Ambiance was stellar. Food was what you’d expect from a steakhouse, everything was cooked perfectly. My only complaint would be that the scallop dish was a bit under seasoned for my taste. Service was great, not the best service I’d ever had but definitely suited our needs.
Food was great, restaurant is beautiful, service was strong. Management handling of a customer issue/potential fight was poor.
It was a very windy evening (gale force winds) and several people kept going out a balcony door, letting in a windstorm that knocked over glasses at the table closest to the door, disrupting the tapestries on the wall, and creating a huge disturbance. After the second patron did that, management should have put a sign on the door or blocked that egress for those without common sense. However, it happened three more times, and after the last time, the man who was sitting at the table closest to that door with his family LOST it. He confronted the last offender (who had gone out to smoke) by going over to his table and threatening him loudly, demanded that the offender pay his dinner bill, and stormed out. All of the wait staff just stood there watching this occur, without any attempts to control or de-escalate the situation. Someone (maybe the manager??) came out, but did no damage control. He also said nothing to the other patrons, either. The meal was not inexpensive, and the atmosphere was severely impacted by this event, which I think could have been avoided altogether with proper management/staff alertness after the first imbecile chose to go out that external balcony door during a windstorm that knocked out power to thousands in the region.
The man who lost his temper was wrong in how he handled the situation, but I could understand his frustration.
Had a wonderful relaxed meal. Our server was amazing. He was attentive yet not intrusive. His recommendations were spot on and his wine substitution for a bottle we ordered that they were out of was perfect. I had the hot cauliflower soup that was so light and airy and delicious. My husband and I both had fillets with to die for Bearnaise sauce. While the Brussels sprouts and the mushrooms sides that we selected were not quite to my taste, my husband enjoyed both. We finished the meal with an incredible chocolate souffle.
If possible try to get a seat by a window to see the beautiful harbor view / atrium.
A great experience with the only downside being the cost. A little pricey to make it a more regular destination.
Marc my waiter was the perfect example of experienced excellence. Attentive knowledgeable and friendly .
Made my Solo dining evening a memorable experience.
Anniversary
The best steak I’ve ever had! My wife could not stop talking about how great the food was.
We had reservations for 5 pm, we were going to see a show after dinner. The restaurant didn't open until 5pm, and we were not seated until 10-15 minutes after 5pm. If you are able to make reservations at 5pm you should at least have the restaurant open 10-15 minutes before that time. I didn't expect to have to wait to be seated at such an early dinner time. It all worked out since we made the show on time but next time I would make the reservation at 5:15pm. The food was excellent!
The place and ambiance is great, however our service was horrible. We waited for 30 minutes or more to be seated. It was understandable since it was during the CPAC convention. But after being seated, service was very slow and not attentive. We had to keep calling other waiters to get service. In terms of food, the porterhouse was ok, I should have chosen the cowboy ribeye. The fries were too salty even for me who likes salt a lot. And mushroom didn't taste right. The bottle of wine was great, but we had to wait for the bigger wine goblets for 10 minutes.
