Very good food, great service awesome ambience!
Very disappointed that the light and water show did not occur.
The steak was great, waygu was tender and juicy, thank you
The Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord on the National Harbor was excellent! It was so good, we ate there two nights in a row. Reuben was an outstanding waiter there - he engaged us so well, especially my 8-year-old son, Charlee!
Old Hickory was a very nice dining experience. The staff were very friendly and customer service focused. The food was very good, although it could include more choices. Also, the dress code is a bit more casual than expected and for the prices. Overall, it was a nice dining experience and I would return again.
Option of a table in the bar area was great for a single diner.
Very slow service, but good food.
Service and ambiance were top-notch. We were running late, and the hostess accommodated us. The phone # list on OpenTable is for the Convention Center Resort/Hotel, so it did take some time to reach someone at the restaurant directly. They validate parking in the hotel garage for 3 hours. Butter poached Maine lobster on risotto (pictured) was amazing. They have an extensive kids’ menu, and the wine list was great. The reason for the lower overall mark was due to the (lack of) value. We expect an up charge for hotel restaurants, but the steaks and sides were underwhelming for their hefty price tag.
Servers were amazing!
Celebrated my husband’s birthday. Overall everything was great, food was very good, the staff was friendly. Our waiter could have been a little less attentive. He was always there giving limited time for private conversation.
We had a wonderful time with the wonderful Andrew serving us. It was a real and true pleasure. The food was delicious as was dessert. If you are looking for a cozy 5 star meal this is your place. They have all the bells and whistles with the amazing service to match.
The food and service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Overall the food was good. Menu is impossible to find online. For the price you would think that you would be able to view the menu before hand. The menu is very limited. Three of the for meals were good the other was a little on the salty side. Good service
Was a great meal and very nice staff.
Great food...and excellent service! I would visit again.
Steaks had too much salt! Sides were good. Desert was limited as was drink menu. Table was unbalanced and led to drink spill. Place is very noisy and crowded with suits. Price was high for level of service, lack of ambiance, and quality and selection of food and drink. Will not return. (I miss Sam & Harry’s).
It was wonderful from the start. Our hostess was great and are waiter was the best!!! Marc was personable and funny. I spilled a little wine on my daughter and he handle the situation like the pro he was! He had her laughing and immediately defused the situation. His manager Dave came over and he was just as wonderful. They cleaned up my mess and dinner proceeded without another hitch. The food was absolutely amazing. My kids who usually eat nothing but hamburgers and chicken fingers - he talked them into a hanger steak and they raved about it all the way home. My parents and I had the fish - black cod and salmon both were equally spectacular and the presentations were lovely. We topped off with insane desserts. Overall one of if not the best dining experience in a very long time. The kids are already planning our next adventure there. Thank you to the incredible staff for an amazing memory.
Always love this place. It's on the expensive side but the food, and service is well worth it. I come back at least once a year for special occasions
Great food, great service, wonderful wine and whiskey selection.
Romantic dinner with a river view during a summer storm made the meal more cozy. The appetizers Waygu cheeks and scallops were scrumptious 😋..the main course Bison Ribeye recommended by our server Vincent along with the Rhubarb Strawberry Crisp were delicious.
Food was very good. Service from Vincent was not great. Steaks were under cooked. Prices were too high.
Everything was excellent except the vegetables were barely cooked. Would recommend.
It was definitely worth the price. The waiter was extremely attentive and the staff was very accommodating to a gluten allergy scenario.
Will go again!
Well, where to start. First we arrived for our reservation on time and they needed 10 minutes. So we went to bar which was a highlight. Very nice Old Fashioned.
They came to get us for the table and it was odd because they were at about 20% capacity. So why the wait? They sat my friend and I at a table for 8? Our waiter was very pleasant provided great service. We already knew we wanted steaks so we ordered the 16oz KS Strip.
Then we asked about baked potatoes. We were told they don’t serve them and received this odd explanation about the difficulties of timing baked potatoes and steaks. Now, my friend and I have been in sales for over 30 years and have been to the best steakhouses across the county. NY, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Vegas. Never has either of us been to a steakhouse that didn’t serve a baked potato. Except Steve’s Sizzling Steaks in East Rutherford NJ. Not just your finer steakhouses, that also includes the Outback, Texas Roadhouse, etc.. In place of the baked potato, the had garlic whipped potatoes. Family style of $18. We ordered that.
When the meal came, clearly one of the steaks were 16oz and other about 3/4 of that. It was beyond us why one would bring 2 steaks that were so different in size to the same table? So obvious that one of got a $68 KS strip and the other did not. Then the potatoes came. Family style? Lol. The dish they arrive in was about 5 or 6 inches in circumference. About a $1 worth of potato. The good news is that they were too unpleasant to eat more than a taste. Pasty, sticky, and just unappealing.
The other plus was that we sat close by to a very drunk table of 8 that made plenty of noice. The capper was a woman at the table that has this disturbing laugh that was so loud you actually wanted to Van Gogh your own ears to make it stop.
So much for that evening. We both woke up at 4:00 am with some issues.
I had the lobster tail over mushroom risotto. Risotto lacked flavor and the lobster tail was very tough
Our server, Happy, was very attentive and pleasant. We were served quickly for our early evening reservation, and had our meal within 40 mins of arriving. Side portions are plenty for two people, and were great (mashed potatoes, brussels, and mushrooms) . We had the filet and the strip steak. The filet was great. The strip steak lacked some flavor, but was helped by the horseradish cream sauce!
Please get a single ribeye on the menu!
Excellent customer service!! I definitely plan to come back again
My wife & I had an amazing date night, food was good, atmosphere was relaxed AND we even got to witness a proposal with a violinist playing. GREAT NIGHT!!!
Our sever Steven was very good and entertaining. The two petite filets at 6ounces each , green beans, and bread were very good, but not worth $50 each steak. I ordered and Old Fashioned for $13 or $14 . It had the largest ice cube I have ever seen! Very little beverage.
This dining experience was superb. We were seated within five minutes of arrival for our reservation. The ambiance was so relaxing with the wait staff attendance appropriate for us. Happy, our waiter, assisted us in deciding our dinner order and it was an awesome choice. His explanation of the Prime Rib steak and its preparation was on the mark. We loved the meal, dessert and coffee!
Great appetizers! The Wagyu beef cheeks were incredible and the food presentation was excellent. The main waiter, Marc, was very knowledgeable, but a little pushy and overbearing in hurrying us to order and in offering unsolicited direction on what to order. The rest of our waitstaff and hostesses were impeccable! Both of our cuts of meat were prepared exactly to order. We had to ask for our steak knives after our main entree was served.. Our main waiter didn't clean our settings between courses and we were seated too closely to another table when there were ample available tables to spread out more. Food=4.5 stars, Service =3.75 stars, Ambiance=;3.5 stars, Value= 3 stars. Overall, the experience is slightly overpriced.
The restaurant was just getting back to full service after being closed for 15 months. We thought the service was exceptional and what we would expect from a restaurant at this level. Food was fairly good; sides were served family style. Not an over extensive wine list but fairly good choices. Food delivery was fast and portions were not overboard. Expect to pay $300/couple (includes glass of wine/sparkling water) for a dining experience here. The views of the water are good, but you should ask for it if you want it.
We choose this expensive restaurant because of the published outdoor garden area where guests could go after dinner for a cigar. The area was open, but clearly not prepared for guests. There was a ladder, chairs in disarray, no ashtrays, and generally not maintained for guest use. Very disappointing!!
Requested seating with a window view in my reservation but was seated at a table on the wall away from the window. After being seated I noticed that there was a table available next to the window. Ordered the Kansas City steak which was served with a side of glazed red & yellow peppers. I would have preferred the option of selecting a side of a green vegetable (i.e., broccoli, asparagus, etc.).
The food was good, but our Filets were both overdone. The mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts were the stars of the show! For a $300 meal (which only included 1 glass of wine and 1 old fashioned), I would’ve expected near perfection.
The two of us were seated at a 4 top table. They immediately took away 1½ silverware sets, 2 stemware sets, and 3 napkins. I asked Anthony for a napkin and when I did not get one I got up and stole one from an another table. We went to Old Hickory to celebrate a special occasion and to get a good ribeye steak only to find out they no longer serve a single ribeye. Only a tomahawk ribeye for two. Settled for a $68.00, 16 oz Kansas City Strip that looked like it was no more than 12 oz bought from the local grocery store. Tasted like it too. The wife had the$68.00 special Petit Filet topped with two scallops which was good as were the wedge salad and seafood soap. The rhubarb in the rhubarb/strawberry crisp was under cooked and tough. Had to ask for refills on our iced tea. We had a very memorable meal with excellent service two years ago and was looking forward to this occasion as well. It was memorable for all the wrong reasons. A restaurant of this caliper that demands a premium price for their food and service should not be receiving this kind of review.
My husband and I enjoyed our experience. The entire team was welcoming, and our waiter had a great personality. They took the extra to identify all of the guests attending the local performance. The only negative thing about our visit was that the menu posted on their website did not match their actual menu. It was completely different which was disappointing. Other than that, we enjoyed our dining experience.
Great experience. Andrew was our waiter and he was top notch! Live a waiter who knows the menu and can give you a breakdown of it all based on your desires. His wine suggestions were spot on to our taste! Told us to kick back, take our time and enjoy the experience. Food was amazing and cooked to perfection.
Seafood tower was almost inedible…. Friendly staff… but food just was not good .. steak was ok at best side dishes were good
Excellent service and the food was the best. Well worth the time and money.
