Great service...very attentive...steaks were delicious..I recommend the tomato salad...however the mashed potatoes were thin and not creamy...I loved the strawberry fields cocktail....great place for a romantic dinner
They were very pleasant and attentive. I had the Delmonico and my wife had filet. We shared the chocolate souffle for dessert. Manager stopped by to check on things and to wish us a happy anniversary. A truly wonderful evening.
Impressive food great services
Would recommend based on past experience. This time our experience was questionable. We had a reservation and arrived on time. Our first table was inside and I should have requested a porch table but we were located to a porch table and everyone was gracious in accommodating us. While our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and kind I had a sense we were being rushed(my perception). Our drinks and appetizer were excellent. Our steaks arrived and both were medium rare and not rare...for me this left an impression that the steak was dry. A passing manager saw my expression and inquired if everything was ok. We explained the situation. Her name was Erin...she offered to bring another steak for us but all of our other food was there and in my disappointment I said no...to make it right she did comp. my husband his dessert and gave us a second class of wine. I do understand these things happen. We have been to the Gaylord on a number of times....birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. This visit was most disappointing because it was our anniversary. The bright side is were upgraded to a room with a balcony and had a glass of wine to enjoy.
We are local residents who have loved this restaurant for years. One of the reasons we came use due to the great service and uniqueness of it. Sadly the cheese cart that was so unique to this restaurant and honestly the reason we frequented it is no longer a choice. They have replaced it with a mediocre cheese plate. The server was great and very knowledgeable of the cheeses and menu but the magic and uniqueness is gone for us. I am sure you can still get a good steak, but who doesn’t have that anymore. We were very disappointed.
The service was spectacular and the food was awesome. We stayed at the Gaylord for a trip and went to the Old Hickory Steakhouse for a birthday dinner and enjoyed it very much. We wish we had the restaurant where we live. We would go often.
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner experience here, the food was fantastic, the service was great and attentive, and the ambiance was calm and relaxing.
The food was great, however the vegetarian options have decreased. Our first visit provided more vegetarian options. I am a vegetarian, but the rest of my family is not. Our first visit was great for all of us. This second visit was a little less pleasing, as the vegetarian options that were offered before, are no longer available.
Highly recommend this place food was delicious, outstanding service
Underwhelming at that price point. The food was not well executed and the souffle tasted more like eggs than desert. I've had better steak at the chain steakhouses. We did however enjoy the ambiance, it was like eating outside with the benefit of A/C.
Fabulous food and Extraordinary service! Dined here for my Birthday dinner while staying at Gaylord Palms and they made me feel like a VIP complete with a surprise Chocolate Soufflé with a Happy Birthday Chocolate! All of us raved about the food! I had Lobster tails which were Huge, tender and perfectly seasoned! The Crab cakes are amazing and the Filet Oscar Melted in your mouth Delicious! My husband had the Halibut special and it was Incredible! Such a memorable experience and we can’t wait to return!
They got rid of the grand mariner souffle.OMG! The main reason I booked there. Lobster bisque portion was smaller. Prefer “ toppings” on the side but this time blue cheese overpowered my steak coffee was horrible. Sad to say Shula’s recent improvements blew old hickory out of the water. Would still recommend for the setting but realistically would go elsewhere for a high end dinner.
Food and prices not worth it. Steak not cooked properly and not very flavorful. Side dishes and creme brulee good. Paid half the price at Texas De Brazil and got double the amount of food and flavor!
Enjoyed dinner with my wife for our Anniversary and everything was excellent. Food was cooked perfectly and service was superb. Highly recommend for any special occasion or dining experience.
This was our 4th or 5th time here and everything has been very consistent with the food and service.
I will go back, but prices seem to be getting high.
Dinner...terrific service great food
Amazing food!! Great service!
The food was good but too pricy, lobster bisque was terrible though
Overall a good place to go. It was a little remote but still loud, which was strange. I would go again.
We’ve been several times in the past but this time was the worst by far. Lipstick on my wife’s cocktail glass. Cold food. No baby changing facilities in their restrooms. Won’t be back anytime soon.
40th wedding anniversary
Javier was our server last night, Justin was assisting him. The two together worked almost seamlessly. Dinner itself was beautiful. We started with a cheese board then tried the lobster bisque and some crab cakes. For Entrees we had the filet, the cowboy ribeye and salmon. For sides we had both of the fries, potatoes, and Mac & Cheese. Everything came out perfectly done and was truly delicious. For dessert we tried the chocolate soufflé, the chocolate & banana brûlée, and the salted caramel cheesecake. Everything was truly exquisite. The ambience of the resort is stunning, it kind of feels like you're outside even though your inside. Truly worth the experience!
Service was OK but the food was cold when it arrived . Ordered a side and complaint that it was burned and the waiter just brushed it off . Would not have minded the price IF THE FOOD HAD BEEN WORTH IT!! It was NOT.
Very disappointed, would not recommend to others !
Waitress forgot to make my soufflés so I didn’t get it. And server was hard to find very often. Often come
And a great experience but this was a let
Sally was our server and she was terrific! Food was very good
and a nice presentation. We will definitely return.
Meh, overpriced and mediocre steaks. Service and ambience is fine, but don't expect a quality steak.
the service was excellent and the food was outstanding
Great experience and great food. We brought our baby in the stroller and they were very welcoming and accommodating. Definitely recommend.
The Service was extremely slow! Our server disappeared for a long periods of time. It took over an hour for our entrées to be served. The manager did come by and apologize and offer to treat us to dessert for our inconvenience. The meal continued to drag on and on while we waited for dessert menus then while we waited for dessert. The longer we sat there the wonderful memory of the fabulous food we had eaten began to tarnish and all we will remember now is how long it took and how tired we were of waiting. (Just for context, they were not super crowded and didn’t appear to be super busy. It would have been nice if there was some Issue causing the slowness if the server would have come and explained it to us and apologized. Although we observed other servers who seemed more attentive- as we watched tables of diners come and go. )
Great service. Food was delicious.
I ordered my fillet medium well (some pink) and it came out more than well done and dry. I should have sent it back. Way over priced for quality.
Great food and ambiance. Serving staff was outstanding.
Excellent steak and service! We had our two boys with us and our waiter was wonderful with them and made sure everything came out quickly and delicious! Thank you!
Everything was perfect. Great steaks and sides. Definitely recommend
All in all the food was not that good steak came out cold for the price was not really a good experience.
Our server was excellent. He made sure everything was perfect. I will be back again.
Well over priced. Food good but not worth the price.
My wife’s Halibut was over cooked and cold and my $66 aged Delmonico ordered rare was well done and Luke warm
I don’t like to write a bad review for a restaurant but I feel like I have to write something so that other people can decide how they want to spend their money and time.
The night started off with us being sat at a bad table in the corner of one of the inside sections. I asked for an open table in any of the open sections of the restaurant and was told they would do their best to accommodate us, but they couldn’t when we showed up. I told them I wanted a different table and saw a few open booths in another section. We were moved to another bad table and told those other open booths were not available. After eating our dinner we noticed that no one ever sat in those open tables that I requested. I asked the waiter why we couldn’t sit there and he said he didn’t know. Those tables were his tables and were available. When I spoke to the manager she apologized and told me she had no idea why we weren’t sat at those tables. She blamed it on new employees.
Our meal was not cheap. It cost over $400 for four of us, so you would think they would want to make you as comfortable as possible. If I was eating at a Diner I wouldn’t care where we sat, but this was an important business dinner and I wanted it to be special.
Now about the meal itself, it was mediocre at best. Honestly the only truly enjoyable thing I had was the cocktail and the dessert.
We ordered the cowboy ribeye which was ok, the filet which was nice and the grouper special which was so over cooked we couldn’t eat it. The sides were just ok as well. The fries were cold, the Mac and cheese was bland, and the creamed spinach was too thick.
The problem I have with this restaurant is they are acting like a fine steakhouse and charging the prices of a fine steakhouse, but they are falling way short of being one. So all that being said, if you are staying at the Gaylord Palms hotel this restaurant is a convenient choice, but certainly not worth the cost.
I wished I would have gone somewhere else.
Beyond perfection. The food and service spot on. Highly recommend.
