The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Perfect for date night with my husband.
This was our first trip (over 30 miles) to this restaurant. The service and ambiance were great but the prices for the quantity of food was quite high, $40 for two cocktails, $80 for two steaks where Outback gets $46 for same cut of meat. We will give it another try on another special ocassion.
we enjoy the ambiance, their was a live entertainer that evening, the Cheese tray is out of this world - the server was very knowledgable. Not all steak houses have cheese carts and are able to tell you about the cheeses.
It was very good. Barbara is always a great waitress
The food was amazing. I will return.
Decent menu, bland steak. You can find better steak elsewhere.
We had the pork chop and bone in ribeye, both were ordered MR to MED and both were raw. And I mean RAW. The waiter was very helpful but by the time we received them back our other items (mushroom risotto, Brussel sprouts) were cold. The pork chop on the second cooking was still raw, so we just asked for them to go and left.
A great dining experience. Very helpful, accommodating waiter with good suggestions.
Our anniversary dinner was amazing as always at Old Hickory. Best lobster bisque we can find on the planet! Steaks were perfect and creamed corn with a touch of heat was so yummy! They brought us an anniversary dessert of cheesecake in a chocolate dome, fantastic meal from beginning to end. Service was impeccable
Our waiter was extremely helpful. He provided excellent suggestions on menu items. He even brought us a special desert for our anniversary.
We'll likely not return for steaks here.
This was our second visit to this restaurant, the first was a wedding anniversary, the second was a combination business trip and early valentines with my wife. Overall it was a great experience, but 2 things that could have been better.
1) the 9 ounce filet mignon had no flavor. I read many comments about the steaks not having flavor. A good steak flavor should not need lots of spices. That said, this meat literally had no flavor. This must be why it comes with grilled onions and peppers. A ribeye would never need onions or peppers to accompany it.
2) there was a couple whose cell phone would loudly chime every 5 minutes with each text message. At one point the man was Face-timing a client and speaking very loudly. A) guests should be asked to silence their phones when being seated and step away from the table if using them. B) do not seat arriving guests near a table obviously loud and discourteous.
The servers were great, most all the other food was delicious. Steak houses are pricey in general, because it is a fine dining experience. That said, when the steak flavor is absent, as was mine, it diminishes the experience.
We'll likely go elsewhere next time.
Was very disappointed. The steaks were not prepared per customer request -- 2 were sent back as too rare, 2 were overcooked.
Great food and service! Only negative was how loud it was. It was difficult to hear conversations at our table.
I’ve already recommended it to several people.
The service was outstanding as was the ambience. The food was good, but not the best I have ever had with the exception of the lobster bisque which was excellent. I ordered the "add on" of sea scallops as my entree. Like I said, they were good, but not the best I've ever had. For $19 I expected better since there were literally only 2 scallops garnished with a few pieces of spring mix. The wedge salad was not great and I only ate half of it. The blue cheese dressing was very vinegary and somewhat thin compared to other blue cheese dressings I have had in the past.
The bacon did not appear to be real bacon. It may have been, but it was ground up very fine, so I wasn't sure. It could have been like the mass produced Hormel "real" bacon bits, or it could have been bacon that had been run through a food processor. It just didn't have that real bacon taste. So, my meal consisted of the wedge salad, lobster bisque, and 2 scallops. I did not feel the need to complain about any of it, but it was a rather expensive meal for what it was. I don't mind paying for excellent food and service. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The food was marvelous and our waitress Allyn was excellent!
Went for my husband’s birthday had the cod ( recommended by our waiter ) and he had the fillet with cognac peppercorn sauce. Everything was excellent. I am suspicious about the bad reviews I keep reading, maybe a competitor or business nearby. Great experience and food.
We dined at this restaurant because we were staying at the hotel and the reviews were good. I am not sure if we just went on a bad night but our experience was awful! It was horrible! The shrimp cocktail (3 shrimp for $16), were the worst I have ever had. The bread is more like dessert and our bread plate had a hair on it. The waiter apologized and comped us some peppercorn sauce to make up for it. My husband did enjoy his steak but mine was horrible. I ordered the filet and it was cold and was more like pepper steak. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and that was the best part. This meal was not worth what we paid! I would not recommend this restaurant. Go outside the hotel to eat. Do not waste your money here!
Amazing restaurant and even better service. Our waiter was Joseph and he was great. The filet and bone in ribeye will make you want to come back.
Was very good food. However it was pricey.
We enjoyed our meal and wine! Zeke was a wonderful server and made our experience a great one.
