Limited menu. Spent many anniversary dinners there. Since Covid, menu has become limited.
We celebrated my husband’s 84th birthday by treating ourselves to a meal at Old Hickory. The service provided by Imir was outstanding. He was personable and ensured we had a great experience without being obtrusive. Our appetizers were French Onion Soup for my husband, and I had Lobster Bisque. The broth of my husband’s soup was very dark and rich looking; he declared it delicious. My bisque was good, although there was a shell in it. We both ordered Filet Mignon, with a baked potato for my husband and asparagus for me as our sides. The 8 ounce filets were cooked to perfection, and melt-in-your-mouth quality. The baked potato was filled with bacon and creme fraiche and was huge. My plate of asparagus was delicious. The only miss for me was the mushroom ragout I ordered to accompany my steak. The flavor of the mushrooms was overwhelming instead of complimentary. Imir surprised us with a huge slice of complimentary chocolate cake - 3 decadent tiers! - in honor of my husband’s birthday.
Girls night- Jorge provided excellent service and food was widneful
It was our 35th Anniversary and they made it very special for us. Our server Jorge was WONDERFUL and so was his assistant.
Great food great service, steak cooked a little too much but overall good place to eat and will come back
Our waiter was fantastic. Food was really good. Prices were a little high
Paul was our server and was fabulous! All the food was fantastic, especially the filet and mac and cheese.
Waiter was very snobby and made us feel like he was looking down on us. Had to ask for a napkin. Had to ask someone to take my order them they left me with the menus. Service was horrible. Food was okay but not worth the price at all. Very disappointed. For a $200 meal for two people you expect at least good service. Will never go back.
We had an amazing dinner, amazing service and will be back again. I would highly recommend coming here.
Shrimp appetizer tough and chewy.
Sauce had very little flavor and no “kick”! All had excellent filet mignonette cooked just right. Asparagus great but sparse. Mac & cheese very good and ample. Justin Cab (2 bottles) was perfect match. Shared cake & ice cream. Server excellent as was his Asst. Surroundings tough to beat. Definitely priced for the corporate credit card!! $$$$$
Amazing food and lovely staff!
An absolutely spectacular dining experience! Sam and Francis were the BEST server team! Yes - it's a little pricy, but let's be honest - every once in a while you deserve an experience like this!
You feel like you’re eating outside, and the lights set the tone as the sun goes down. Loved it!
beautiful venue and the food was fabulous. I'm glad we went early as it looks like it was a prime night for prom and engagements. We enjoyed the drinks and the food very very much!
A fun dinner with friends at a dance competition.
My wife and I went to Old Hickory for our 10 year anniversary dinner and we were pretty excited because we heard so many great things. The food was excellent but the noise level of the atmosphere and the neighboring table that was obnoxious an loud made the experience sub-par. It was near impossible for us to hear our server to order. The only thing keeping our experience as high as I have it rated was the food. Excellent food experience! Overall the quality of the food against the atmosphere was not acceptable for what you pay.
Excellent service. Food could have been better.
Outstanding customer service, friendly staff and great food!
The service - like all service at the hotel - was very fine. Our server, Jorge, was very pleasant and helpful. The ambience is wonderful due to its location within one of the hotel’s atriums. And the food was great too!
Portion are very large and can be share. Some items sre extreamly overpriced but good quality. Also if you are staying at hotel ensure you let them know. You get additional discounts we found out afterwards. Would not recommend for whole family with children. Food will go to waste.
I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE OLD HICKORY STEAKHOUSE FOR YEARS AND IT IS DELICIOUS
This was just ok. It was just us 2, did apps, salad, dinner and a few drinks. There was a hair in my plate :( when you pay $300 for dinner you don’t want to see that. Our waiter was nice but our food came out room temperature, and wasn’t really better than a chain restaurant. Waited long times for refills and over 25 minutes to get the check after completion. Not like other restaurants that are similarly priced. Disappointed and would not come back. I think he knew our experience wasn’t great because he did bring out a free dessert. Not the type to complain or make a fuss but this was subpar for the price.
It was our very first time visiting here as well as our two year anniversary. We enjoyed ourselves as well as the food it was outstanding. We will definitely be back again.
Prices are up there so be prepared. They do have a menu out front so you can see what they have ahead of time. That being said, the food was fabulous! We loved celebrating our anniversary here.
Everyone was fantastic. A special call out to Paul our waiter! Excellent
Best steak in Nashville ! Great recommendations from our server. Wonderful dining experience
Had a lovely evening with my husband for our anniversary! Gorge was amazing!
This place was the best restaurant that I have ever been to in my entire life! The food, amazing! The service, awesome! Everything was amazing!
This restaurant is amazing, it has to be one of the best places we’ve tried as a family. The food is incredible, we started with some shrimp cocktail and pork belly appetizers, then we had the Lobster Bisque soup. Then the feast begin with Sixty South Salmon Steak, Porterhouse and the Cowboy Rib Eye Steak. The lobster For desserts we had this amazing Chocolate cake. But what made this experience better was the service we got from Jorge. He is exceptional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience fine dining to another level.
The service was great! The food was just ok. I got the filet Oscar style and my husband got the surf and turf. The filets weren’t super tender. We also got Mac and cheese and it was delicious!
Phenomenal experience. Great ambiance, service and food. Well worth the price tag!
This dinner was amazing. My drink never got to even half empty. One of the best best meals I've ever eaten. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. I serve for a living as well and have no problem saying they put me to shame. An overall perfect anniversary night with my wife.
We come to dinner at old hickory once or twice a year recently last November
COVID has become a universal excuse for bad service every where and to our disappointment the Opryland hotel and old hickory steak house
Clean up your act I really would like to return and enjoy a dinner at what up to recently was an outstanding experience
Excellent food and service. Will come back.
This was my second trip to Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord Opryland. It was as wonderful as the first visit. The staff name badges include where they are from which can lead to some enlightening conversation. The food is delicious. My sister and I ordered different meals then shared. Serving size is plentiful.
I had the chicken. It was bland and it look like the chicken was skinned, salt and pepper, put in the oven. It didn’t look tasty at all. They no longer served our favorite Red wine anymore. My son had the salmon which he said was good but it been better in the past. We came here for valentines and I had the scallops which were not the quality taste as we have had in the past. If it like this one more time we will not be coming back. This is a pricey restaurant and the food quality should be top notch.
When you decide Gaylord (a Marriott) in Nashville or anywhere else, its a fine dining expensive that once in a blue moon outing (unless you are rich) that everyone love to experience. So I recommend if you are on a budget like me (retired), then save up. I save up for a quarterly outing such as this. Me and hubby had a wonderful evening. The food is off the chain. Plus I've been a Marriott rewards member for a long time so I can reap other benefits.
Excellent experience and will return.
Our server was excellent and I felt like she had been serving in fine restaurants for many years. Before we left for our Tennessee trip we had dinner at Bones in Atlanta, it is one of our favorite restaurants for fine dining. Old Hickory Steakhouse should consider paying Bones to let their chief learn how to prepare and cook prime beef. What was served to my wife should have been returned to the cook. It was very tough and I tried a piece and had a hard time getting it down. My order of a half rake of lamb was much better.
