Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord Opryland
They charge for their steak sauce. The food wasn't that bad but definitely different. Very nice restaurant but the parking was $32.00. Don't wear heals if you are not comfortable with them it's a good ways to walk. Great service they even gave my husband a chocolate cake for his birthday.
We visited Old Hickory Steakhouse for our 10th anniversary..
We had a great experience from service (Andrew was our waiter) to food we were pleased..
The prices are a little high but I can assure you it’s worth every penny!!! The chef is fantastic.. Will be revisiting for future dinners..
We love eating here. The ambience is amazing, the food is delicious and the service is always top notch.
We were greeted as soon as we walk in and asked if she could help. This began an evening of great service, an outstanding meal and more. Overall an evening well enjoyed.
The service was amazing the location and views makes it for an enchanted evening. The food was stupendous highly recommend to anyone in the area and you do not necessarily need to staying at the Gaylord Opryland in TN to enjoy eating at Old Hickory.
Overall it was good but not a great value . The server was lacking for a high end steak house and the menu was very limited.
Food overall was great and the service was excellent. The noise level was a little loud that particular night due to a nearby event going on but still a good experience!
Great place to get away from the crowds at Opryland and enjoy a quiet, relaxing meal in a pretty setting. It is "pricey" but food is well prepared and service is great.
Lovely elegant setting with delicious food and over-the-top service. Loved it
Great bread selection (rosemary and baguettes) with flavorful crackers with a hint of Oregano we could t get enough of and finally a place that gave us enough butter that we weren’t begging for more as usual. Great Sevice always attentive to the drinks, plates and food. Totally enjoyed our experience with our waiter Jorge!
Great food. Service excellent. Get the dessert!
The hostess was borderline rude and very unaccommodating. We had a party of 12, that we made 3 reservations of 4, at 8, 8:15 and 8:30... She would NOT sit us all down even though there were DOZENS of empty tables, saying that they didn't want to hit the kitchen with all our orders.... Fine! Stagger taking our orders, but let us all SIT and have a DRINK.
I would of left but we were starving and there was no other place open.
They just don't have enough restaurants for the people that come here for a convention.
Great food and cheeses!!
I am from San Francisco where we have amazing restaurants and Old Hickory Steakhouse was truly amazing.
Andrew was excellent and knowledgeable about his wines. Lobster Bisque very good. The scallops we’re prepared well with a spicy sauce which we didn’t care for but some may. The fillet we ordered medium rare and was delivered a bit over. Andrew offered to have it replaced but we opted not to interrupt the flow of our dinner. Lobster tail quite tasty!
Expensive hotel fare, tasty and service was outstanding.
We felt this restaurant was overpriced for the amount of food, especially the $44 filet.
Very good quality meat but a bit bland
The sauce was bland as well
Paul was an outstanding waiter, made our visit very easy and memorable Thanks
Great service and even better food!!
This was the 3rd or 4th time to dine at this facility. We always enjoy dinning with the the people at this restaurant.
Came with my girlfriend for her birthday. Mentioned on open table reservation that it was for her birthday upon arrival they greeted her with a happy birthday and had a complementary birthday cake and candle at dinner. Old Hickory House is absolutely awesome.
We expected so much more of this dinner and service for the price. Very disappointing. The venue was beautiful. We had out of town guests. Prior to dinner, while touring the gorgeous Opryland hotel, one of the guests purchased a beer. He liked it so much he then asked for that beer at the restaurant with dinner. The waiter was quite rude and condescending and told him absolutely they didn’t carry that kind of beer, despite it having been purchased a few feet away inside the hotel. Strike 1. On the waiter’s recommendation two of the guests ordered the $130 steak to share. It was not good. It was not spectacular as marketed. None of our steaks nor filets were good. There was no flavor to the meat whatsoever. In fact, I ate only a few bites and brought mine home with me to be able to season it to make it edible. Strike 2. The salads were the best part of the meal. The waiter was not. Strike 3. He started out on a bad note by insulting a guest for a simple request. The other supporting wait staff was wonderful and courteous but unfortunately we won’t be returning.
Very pleasant and our waitperson (Wayne) was the best.
Great service. Fantastic red wine served with my steak. It was ordered rare and was served that way.
quite honestly the steak that we got was not tender at all. Salad was average and sides were good but a little on the bland side.
Good experience. Food was not cooked as ordered and they went out of their way to fix that. Good service. Good atmosphere. Very professional staff.
Food was excellent. Amir was outstanding. He really knows the menu items and his recommendations tasted exactly as he described. Will definitely return and look for Amir next time we are in Nashville.
We appreciated Wayne coming by to explain the Christmas lighting sequences to us, it made the experience come alive. The food was also very good and service exceptional.
Our sever Amir was absolutely flawless! The food was phenomenal! I would highly recommend the lobster bisque for starter along with the beautiful tomahawk accompanied with lobster Mac and cheese as a main course. Don’t forget about the wine! Amir suggested a bottle of “The Prisoner” red wine blend to pair with the steak, it was like velvet in your glass the way the nodes combine with the richness of bone marrow butter. Delicious
Made reservations for dinner with two people out of our party of 4 celebrating birthdays, and also because we were going to the Grand Ole Opry immediately after dinner. The Gaylord Resort was fun to walk around and see, and the ambience at our table was great. It was perfect to seem like sitting outside, without actually sitting outside. Patrick was an outstanding server and our food was delicious, steaks cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend if you want more of an upscale dining experience.
Our waiter Tony gave us a perfect dining experience. The steak was juicy and tender
The food and service was excellent. The crab cake appetizer was very delicious and 95% crabmeat. The filets were tender and cooked to perfection. The sides are large enough to share. Although it was expensive, it was worth the price.
My wife and I were celebrating our fiftieth wedding anniversary and everyone at the hotel and restaurant made this a memorable experience. We were seated at a wonderful table and greeted by our waiter Wayne. He knows the menu so well and made good suggestions for our appetizers and entree. He had information and bits of trivia that he shared about items on the menu which we enjoyed. The food was exceptional; had been recommended by a friend to get the Tomahawk steak but went with the beef Wellington. It was cooked to perfection and really enjoyed the haricots vert. Creme brûlée was some of the best we have ever had. Altogether a ten plus experience.
Waiter was very nice we asked for the steak medium rare Pittsburgh it was very raw inside it was not crispy in the sliders outside not a great cut
This is the best place to eat at gaylord. We eat here often! The food and service is always outstanding
The steaks were over cooked and of very poor quality. Outrageous price for a poor meal. We were in a time crunch for a show at Opry waiter assured us we would have plenty of time, we had 1 1/2 hours and barely made it out on time. Never again will we dine there.
Nothing special. A bit of an attitude by waiter. Food was average for the price.
Excellent way to experience the Gaylord and have amazing food.
A fabulous dining experience. The food was delicious. Our server Tony was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was very attentive to our every dining need. He recommended a delightful wine to accompany our dinner choice. A wonderful evening. Thank you Tony
