Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord Opryland
Friday & Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
Every single thing I ate here made my taste buds so happy!!!
Stayed at Gaylord for a business trip. I Yelp'ed all the restaurants in the resort and this is the only one that has "decent" reviews out of all. By "decent" I meant "3 star rating" on Yelp.
It is expensive. But with plenty fine dinning experience, the price here is not too outrageous in my opinion. But what disappoints me the most is the food quality. You tell me this is a $$ restaurant in Nashville? That deeply disappointed me and I feel sorry for people living here. They deserve a lot better with the price they pay. The beef tarter tasted OK. But it just looks like something cooked from Denny's. Oh, and the salmon, looks exactly the same from my frying pan! Tastes OK too. Just like home made salmon.
Service was exceptional and waiters are very attentive throughout my dinner. That's the only positive thing from my dinner here.
The food was ok. The service was great. The atmosphere was great also.
Everything was excellent, but a bit pricey. If you don’t mind paying for great food and service this is your place.
Everything was great but had ordered the steak to be pink or medium, when it came out the first time it was well done. Had to send it back, the second time it was perfect.
Overpriced. We showed up 25 mins early for a 5:30pm reservation they couldn't seat us because they had other reservations .... many empty tables even when they did seat us ... had tickets for 7:00pm Grand Ole Opry ... ended up running to get to the show .. plus what a rip off as far as prices go .. and while the meat was still good ... the waiters oversold the wellness ... medium rare would have been fantastic for the pork chop. won't be returning.
My steak was excellent as were the sides of creamed kale and spinach and Mac n cheese. Would’ve given a five except the other person in my party ordered salmon and the steak was fairly thin. Service was excellent.
The ambiance and surrounding views were fantastic. The steaks and food in general is good. The price is very expensive when compared to the food quality. To be expected in a "resort steak house".
Birthday dinner was excellent
The restaurant is located inside the Gaylord Opryland Resort and is similar to Ruth's Chris in pricing and a la carte options. The setting is absolutely stunning. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and we asked for a table with a view but away from crowded dining areas. As a result, our table for two provided an excellent view of the gardens and lighting; however, two very large groups were seated behind us about 30 minutes into our visit, so our intimate setting quickly vanished.
We both ordered the filet, and our steaks arrived a little underdone, but we didn't bother to complain as they were still very good. Sauces for the steaks are $3. My husband chose the OH Steak Sauce (their version of A-1), and I ordered the Bleu Cheese Fondue. Both were average but not exceptional. Same with the side dishes, which are served family style for sharing. We chose mashed potatoes and asparagus, and both were a little bland.
Our server was very friendly and attentive at first. However, his attention was soon diverted to one of the large parties, and we ended up sitting for about 30 minutes after we finished our meal without drink refills or a bill. When an assistant server finally refilled our glasses, we asked for the check. About 10 minutes later, our waiter appeared with a huge piece of chocolate cake topped with a lit candle, which was a surprising, nice touch to our celebration. The check arrived another 10 minutes later. In normal circumstances, we probably would've been content to soak in the beautiful atmosphere, but the two large parties took away from that a bit. We also had event tickets for later in the evening, and the lengthy dining experience caused us to be about 45 minutes late,
Overall, we enjoyed the restaurant due to the atmosphere and are glad we experienced it once but will likely not return on our next visit to the resort.
Tomahawk is completely worth every penny
The ambiance is incredible the waiter was awesome and knowledgable. The food was delicious. Steaks could be cut with a fork. It couldnt have been a more perfect evening.
Celebrated our Anniversary ! Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.. Food and service were outstanding !! Our server Ebram was A+. ! Old Hickory even gave us an Anniversary card signed by the staff... Thank you !!
My wife and I went to Old Hickory for our 10th anniversary and were not disappointed in the least. From the moment we were seated until we walked out we were treated with the utmost respect. We are not very well versed on wines and pairings and our server was so accommodating, we absolutely could not have dreamed of a better dinner for our celebration.
51st Anniversary dinner. Treated royally.
Excellent steak house. A bit pricey, having to order a la carte, but everything was so delicious. Presentation was beautiful. Staff was very attentive without being annoying. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff all were congratulating us, and even had a card they had signed
Great food. Professional Staff. Great seating. Exceptional experience.
Reviews rated Old Hickory Steakhouse as excellent, and we found them to be spot on. Great service staff, delicious menu choices, and great outdoor atmosphere. It I lived in Nashville, we would definitely be back regularly.
Best high-class restaurant in Nashville. A bit expensive, but well worth the money. The food and service are phenomenal. Great place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.
From the moment we walked in until the moment we left my husband and I received wonderful hospitality & delicious food. Our wait staff took great care and made our experience more than just the typical restaurant transaction. The steaks were cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths like butter. The creme brûlée dessert was exquisite. Overall an amazing experience and we can’t wait to visit again.
Everything here is good, but our favorite items were the lobster bisque, sharp white cheddar cheese, mashed potatoes, roasted mushrooms.....oh my gosh they are amazing, crab cakes and filet (in that order). We had a piece of chocolate cake for dessert, it was large enough for the whole family to share and was very good. Most of the sides are served family style, which means at least 3-4 people can share which makes the $10 price a value purchase. The steaks are expensive ($43 filets, $46 NY strips) but we spent $72 on four crab cakes; they're big and tasty but that's too expensive. We got the bone marrow butter at the suggestion of the server, but we thought it was a waste. We went to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday and they gave her a free piece of cake with a candle which was nice. Reservations are highly recommended.
One funny thing I will tell on myself is that the little white things they serve alongside your steak is not a cooked onion, it's garlic. I'm used to the powder. When I return, I will get a bowl of lobster bisque with a whole plate of white cheddar cheese (if they'll let me). This hotel is amazing if you've never been and the steakhouse sits right in the middle of it. Enjoy!!!
Food was fair. Atmosphere was great and service was good. We had the $125 signature steak and it was good but not great. Mac and cheese was awesome.
Payed a lot of money for to 80z fillets and they were so salty my wife could not eat hers! We actually order rooms service afterwards because the food was not good. My bill was 135 plus a 30 dollar tip. Service was great that was the only good thing!
Fantastic meal and ambiance!
The service was excellent!
Great meal with exceptional service! Amir was great and made the experience memorable! The steak was perfectly done and the scenery added to a great dining experience!
As I have been here at least annually, old hickory just delivers quality food, service and ambience each and every time without fail!
A beautiful date night. They made my fiancé and I really welcome. Anthony our server was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. This place is a must for anyone in town!
Beautiful, tropical setting, pampered want- for-nothing service and great food. Perfect evening!
The best service and steak I’ve ever had at a steakhouse!
They went above and beyond to make my anniversary dinner amazing
Our waiter, Amir, was probably the best waiter we’ve ever had anywhere. Delightful man to add to a special evening. Enjoyed his knowledge and spirit.
We celebrated our Anniversary here. Amir was beyond excellent. He made our evening so special. He brought a rose before dinner, and an exquisite dessert afterward. Everything was perfect. Our meals were delicious, and the service was wonderful.
Food was very good but over priced. I’ve had very comparable food for much less. Atmosphere and location within Opryland Resort is what you are paying for, which is very nice and in line for special occasions.
We recently celebrated our one year anniversary at the Gaylord Opryland hotel and dined here at the Old Hickory Steakhouse. It was D-lish!! We started off with the shrimp cocktail, which I suggest doing. We both went with the filet as our entree dish. Pretty scrumptious piece of meat! I highly recommend trying the three cheese mac-and-cheese, especially if your a cheese lover like me. The meal was topped off with a little chocolate indulgence, the chocolate tower of a cake was almost too much so save some room for desert if you can or get it to go for a midnight snack (LOL). This was an amazing venue for our one year anniversary as we were treated very well by our server Paul and had a anniversary card signed by the restaurant staff waiting for us at our table which over looked the Cascades and water show. We certainly will not forget our experience here and I hope you have the same wonderful experience as we did.
Cowboy Ribeye with Bone Marrow butter was the best steak I have ever had.
The service and waiters were fantastic. Empicable very surprised
High-end dining with great food and outstanding service!
Both my date and I got sick from the escargot. Not a good experience.
Attentive staff, started with the cheese selection, great food, good wine selection.
I suggest starting with the cheese and wine pairing as a first course. It is amazing and fun. The filet, NY strip and pork chop are all so delicious. Request Amir as your server for a perfect dining experience. He is excellent and has many years of experience at Old Hickory.
