We were here with friends from Belfast Ireland. Two of us had the Short ribs, one had chicken and my husband had sea island bouillabaisse. Everything was delicious. Not one of us was disappointed. And we all look forward to returning to this very charming restaurant.
We picked because of the Sunset. They now leave the blinds down til well after the sun sets. I had to go ask for them to be raised at which our server seemed annoyed. Everyone basically missed the beauty of it. Also; our server seemed weeded or something. She wasn’t overly attentive. We had 6 people for dinner but the whole experience took a out 3.5 hours. Our dinners took forever to come out & no one had ordered anything “customized”. Everything was straight from the Menu.
However: we still really enjoyed it & had a great time together. The setting is absolutely stunning...
Michelle was a wonderful server. And we also enjoyed our time with Jerry at the bar. We’ve never been disappointed with Old Fort Pub and look forward to our next vacation at Hilton Head that will definitely include another visit to Old Fort Pub.
A wonderful vacation dinner for us at the Old Fort Pub restaurant. The view was beautiful overlooking pretty Skull Creek with the soon to be setting sun sparkling the water outside our window. The service was excellent, and if anything too prompt, as we didn’t want to leave. :). The food was super delicious,—-definitely a place we’ll be returning to.
Food was terrific and service was outstanding.
We enjoyed a lovely meal with our two children on our last day of vacation. Kids were happy to have their Shirley Temple's topped off several times throughout the evening. Our waitress was very friendly and engaging with our kids. Table by the window to see the low country sunset. We always enjoy dining at Old Fort Pub. One son ordered chicken off the adult menu and proclaimed It the best he ever had. The other chose a young adult filet, and enjoyed it so much he wanted to order another. And our meals were great too. Thank you!
First off...price gouging because of Heritage week! 30.00 for small chicken breast hardly any veggies ! 55.00 for steak! Where are we? NY? Asked for sautéed spinach no seasoning I got salty oily kale! Then they said there wasn’t any spinach. So you don’t tell me before you plate? Trout was awful loaded with salt sent it back. Then was told out of trout. 19.00 for 9 oz of Chardonnay?!!! Are you kidding?! On top of what was supposed to be a good meal and wasn’t they wanted to charge us 20% gratuity for a table of 4. It was already included on the bill. Excuse us but we as customers can decide what to tip. Certainly not 20%. Thank you
Consistently great restaurant. Service, scenery, food are all excellent. If you time your dinner well you will have the benefit of seeing the sunset over Skull Creek with the foreground framed by large oak trees with Spanish moss.
This was a great way to dine in Hilton Head, great food and atmosphere, a great dining experience
What a beautiful setting! Food and service are second to none. I visit every time I am on the island.
Let me start off by saying the food and service were excellent. The open table happy hour for this place is misleading. There is no happy hour. We booked this place specifically because of their happy hour menu. Even our server was confused when we asked. I gave this place a high rating based on the service and food. It’s not a value restaurant, it’s fine dining.
Found service average but not up to 5 star standard. When did servers stop removing crumbs from tablecloth before serving dessert?
Best dining on the island! We have been going for years (special occasions and making up occasions just to go). Perfect!
It was a great evening! We always visit Old Fort Pub when we're in HH, Jennifer did an outstanding job with our group. Thanks!
The food and the atmosphere was marvelous. The salmon dish was amazing.
This was our first time to Old Fort Pub. Ambience/view were incredible although it was a little too cold to sit outside.
Service was fantastic. I ordered the mahi mahi which was good, but not great. The steak was also good, not great.
We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant, but it is a little on the pricey side.
Good for special occasions.
What an amazing venue. Best views in Hilton Head for fine dining. A must!
Very charming location. Wonderful views. Food was great and the menu provided a nice variety of selections. Our waiter was very attentive.
Wonderful birthday brunch for hubby’s B/D. We took six friends to OFP for a celebration. Food, drinks and service were spectacular. Our favorite restaurant for ambiance and sophisticated service.
Birthday was a wonderful time
We went for the tasting menu (3 courses for $29). I had to ask for that menu, then we were rushed to get our order in. My wife's soup and my salad came out almost immediately. My Caesar salad had 1 anchovy and my wife's soup was only luke warm. We barely had finished this course when the entrée came out. It was fine, but nothing outstanding. It seemed to take longer to get our dessert to go and pay the bill than the rest of the meal. It was obvious that they wanted to turn the table as quickly as possible. Not very customer friendly for a supposed upscale restaurant.
No one should serve a premium bourbon (Angel's Envy) with a ton of ice! Secondly , our waiter had to be summoned so that we could order wine with our entrees . Bread arrived hot from the oven , visually appealing but tasted like everyday white bread that happened to be cleverly shaped. My crab cake was overly seasoned with an old bay type spice mixture. Too bad because the crab and local shrimp should have been the star of this entree, enhanced by subtle seasonings. My husband thought that flavor of his flounder was lost and weighted down by an excess of seasoning too. We had great expectations for this restaurant , hoping to find "a favorite dining spot" similar to the many we enjoy in Charleston .However , we did love the view and enjoyed watching the sun go down over Skull Creek .
when we go to Hilton Head we always eat there on the last night. Try and be at a table by sunset. Beautiful. She crab soup is the best on the island. Fish is always a good selection.
Excellent food and ambiance. Not cheap but worth it for that special occasion.
We had a wonderful evening and the wait staff and food quality were both excellent. We definitely will visit at the old pub again Thank you for your exceptional service.
Brunch was a lovely occasion. Relaxing, beautiful view, old world charm..however, once again our food could have been hotter.
The best She Crab soup ! And the best view of the sunset on Hilton Head Old school cocktails and wonderful seafood as well as my pork loin. (Don’t forget the pecan pie!)
Great food and service. Good resturant for special occasions.
Bar Service was outstanding!!
I would like to see more gluten-free entree options
The water view is very nice and the service prompt without rushing. The food was good but not really consistent with a 4 star rating. The airline chicken was dry and the salads were just ok.
Always take my wife to Old Fort Pub when we are in Hilton Head. Good food and romantic setting.
A special restaurant for special occasions. Great sunsets.
Wonderful experience. View of the river at sunset was breathtaking.
One of the best, and best run, restaurants in the area. They know how to make guests feel special. The food is outstanding, and the views are amazing. I recommend trying to time your dinner around sunset for amazing water views. I've not experienced better service at any restaurant on Hilton Head.
A very nice restaurant with great service.
Little disappointed with the menu choices,
AWESOME!!! Food and service were FANTASTIC!!! we are locals...never a disappointment!!!
Had a night cap with Jerry...
It took us a while to get there, but it was well worth the wait. The food, service and ambience were everything we had heard about, and expected. We will be back!
Fantastic. You could not ask for a better evening. Great food, service and view. The Beet and Arugula salad was wonderful, the She Crab soup out of this world and all of the other food was outstanding. Our favorite restaurant on Hilton Head Island.
Old Fort Pub is off the beaten track, but be brave and go. When you walk into the dining room, it is all windows overlooking Skull Creek and if you go around sunset, you are in for a treat! Lots of parking... Woman who greeted us was very pleasant and gave us a seat by the window. There was only one other table with people so I guess 5:30 is a good time to go. Later on, it filled up. The food was excellent - well prepared and presented. When you go to a beautiful place like this with good food and scenery, you want to spend 2 hours there. We did but we controlled when we ordered. Many restaurants serve quickly so we have learned to order our drinks, wait, order an appetizer, wait and then the main course. It works. That said, it is place to go.
