Delicious, well priced, and overall awesome. I highly enjoyed everything about my visit
Great place for breakfast....good choices, good food, and a booth makes for a good atmospher for conversation and business-making.
Very nice food and meal experience, and have already returned. The price/quality ratio is good. Top marks.
The food is absolutepy amazing. Very pricey but worth the trip. The oysters lived up to expectations and hype.
First time visit, food was good, filet was as good as they get and reasonable pricing.
We vist this very historic venue every time we go to Washington DC .
We were accepted right on the time I had made a reservation for; excellent food; good ambiance, excellent service.
Awesome as always. Great attention to detail. Food high quality, well prepared. Friendly and attentive staff but not too present.
Best place we ate while we visited DC!
Great atmosphere, great food and outstanding service. Close and a little loud on a Saturday evening.
Great time, make reservations ahead!
We were there for a special birthday celebration that was indicated on the OpenTable reservation. When we arrived, we were taken to a table in a corner of the bar, the only open table in the restaurant. Disappointed, we sat, and planned to make the best of it. Without being asked, the maitre’d came back to our table less than 10 minutes after we had been seated, offering to move us to a table in the (quieter) main dining room. We were extremely grateful and appreciative of this gesture.
I have enjoyed many a dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill and the food and service was great. The only thing I disliked was the last two times being placed in the bar area which is noisy and ruined the ambiance. It is difficult to enjoy a great dinner when people are talking loud. It ruins the overall enjoyment of the dinner, but the food was still good. I may need to make a special notation not to place me near the bar.
This is a favorite of ours and as we are moving out of the area, we needed one last stop to provide us with our "fix" for OEG for a while - until we come back for a visit. Always great service, great food, great drink! Thank you for the years of special memories as well!
Portions were small
Great energy during the holidays
the weekend menu for lunch very limited no steak or chicken. Not what the web site shows for the menu very disappointed. my company has a scheduled private dinner for 18 there and i went Saturday just to try it. Me and my wife now choose not to attend company dinner because of pricing for the party and limits on choices of food and yes your making money the name of the game. I can meet with my co workers later with better food choices else where. THANKS
This was my favorite place I ate in DC during my trip. I received several recommendations for this restaurant and will go back every time I am in DC. It is the oldest bar in DC, and is awesome! The ambience is exciting, the food is spectacular, and the service is attentive. This is definitely a DC staple, so be sure to make reservations in advance!
Good food, good service. Bloody Maryland is great, Chesapeake breakfast was amazing and their wings were on point!
Great historical venue that remains a popular destination.
I made a reservation and still waited. While our server was awesome, the food was mediocre at best and over priced.
Make a reservation and bring your patience. Read the preceding sentence out loud. Do not assume that you are coming at an off-hour and there will be no line and no wait. OEG seems to be one of those restaurants that believes a human hubbub by the door is a sign of prosperity and delictability to the passers-by. Maybe so, but lessen (but don't expect to eliminate) your participation in it by making a reservation.
A December Saturday near the noon-hour for brunch found OEG hopping and abuzz with holiday shoppers, tourists, day-trippers and others who might have been drawn by favorable Yelp reviews. Put us in that latter category. We were not disappointed by the food or the service; both were excellent.
OEG will set you back cost-wise, which you should expect given the location (you can hit the White House with a well-thrown frisbee). But whether for a special occasion or not, we'll be back. One of us had the french toast and the other the classic "Bennie" - which means Eggs Benedict. Both prepared to perfection. Again, there are no values here, but for that, bag your lunch or stay in the suburbs.
Wonderful as always. Service was a bit slow to get check.
We made reservations for brunch. We were seated immediately. All great. However, it took 15 minutes for our server to appear for our drink order and another 10 minutes for our coffee to arrive. Our meal was very good, and our server was capable and friendly. We were not in a hurry, but 25 minutes to get a drink is too long.
We are relatively young/hip but the party being hosted in atrium area made dinner miserable. Almost left but we were starving. Food and service were excellent - wish management was a little more on it that night however - there is no way that event out-paid every table in the restaurant throughout the evening that had to endure it’s music.
Always consistently good. Love having a drink at the bar before dinner, it's fun!
Our waitress was awesome! She understood we had a show to catch and that we were on a time line. She was very prompt and helpful. One of the hostess was extremely rude but luckily the other realized how bad the one was treating us and stepped in. Typically this restaurant has wonderful staff so I'm hoping she's gone the next time I visit.
The Old Ebbitt Grill was an amazing dining experience! The food was delicious and the ambiance was wonderful! I can't wait for my next visit to try another outstanding entree from the menu! Thank you to all who served us!
Friday night before the show at National Theatre. VERY CROWDED! and very loud, but fun.
Waiter seemed overwhelmed but redeemed himself later. Took way too long to get a drink, because you can barely move. I stil love it there
We go to various Clyde's locations because they are consistent and the ambience is nice
great place briliant food... l have had better sword fish in Boston you need to work on that it was dry
This is a great restaurant to go to outside of tourist season. Lunch and brunch are fantastic!
Service was very slow, food was moderately good, kind of disappointed.
Haven’t been in years. Met a business colleague and friend for lunch. We all agreed that Old Ebbitt Grill never disappoints!
Good food for the price ; great wholesome selections...DC comfort
I loved the food, ambience was wonderful with great friends!
This was a girl trip to DC. We have dined at Old Ebbitt before. Our first server was not to friendly, felt like she was rushing us.,plus they were still serving lunch and gave us the lunch menu. We were only about 15 minutes away from 5:00. Our second server was much better and took care of us until we left. Food was fine. Wish we could have had the dinner. Will know next time to reserve at 5:00
Took my husband there for his birthday. Food was excellent as always & service was exceptional.
The atmosphere was beautiful and classic. Vintage and homey. So warm and cozy. Staff was friendly and engaging. Service was great. The portions were more than enough and delicious!
Always a stop when I'm in DC.
Always a fun place to eat while in DC. Love to take first timers there. Love the history and the beautiful bars.
