Dinner and the ambience was perfect. We notified the restaurant in advance that we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and they were so kind to gift us with a warm welcome and glass of bubbly. Their kindness is greatly appreciated. Our server Mauricio was extremely attentive and friendly. We hope to return in the future.
Our waitress was absolutely outstanding!!!! Sorry I didn’t get her name… food was amazing!!! Recommend highly!!!
Nice experience. Very busy and fast paste but food was worth it. My waiter was very informative.
Better than expected! Loved the drinks, food, atmosphere, and the service.
In this very large restaurant we were seated with a view into the kitchen and right next to an unidentified public restroom, so we didn’t realize it was a bathroom until we were thru with our appetizers. And then it was a steady stream of “regulars” breezing past us. Oysters Rockefeller had so many shells, they were inedible. Nice salad and entrees. Probably one of the loudest restaurants we’ve ever been in. Doubtful that we will return.
One of favorite places to go. Never had a bad meal here. Extensive top shelf drinks menu & food was wonderful
The food, atmosphere and service was superb. My friend and I did dinner and a show. Old Ebbitt Grill set the bar very high. Enjoyed it to the fullest.
The wait staff was wonderful!
Great location....Parking is always an issue. GREAT servers..yummy food... Disappointed that there was not ONE VA wine on extensive wine list.
The food was good. Easy to get in to. As a vegetarian, I wish there were more brunch options, but what I had was good.
Next time we’re in DC, this is a place we’ll be back to.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in the USA. I always stop by when I’m in DC.
We LOVE old Ebbitt! The atmosphere and history is lovely, and the food! Where do I begin? My steak was perfectly cooked and charred. We had a friend with a number of allergens and the staff made accommodations that not only kept her safe but were also delicious. Our server was lovely and attentive, and the wine selection is incredible. We will be back!
Great night out. Sat in the old wood paneled dining room. My favorite. Excellent steak, fresh oysters, fresh pasta… lovely dinner
Food was delicious. The server was very attentive
Felt like a good ole tourist trap. Overpriced filet that sat in a puddle of soy sauce. Great location, our server was top notch. The food was way less than desired for the price tag.
Food was excellent and the wait person was very affable.
I was disappointed in the food just blah. Friendly staff
As usual a great experience at Old Ebbit Grill. Service was great and we always enjoy the fresh oysters!
Our server was fantastic! Super sweet and very accommodating- we were late getting there and had to leave early for
Our server, Charlize, was extremely personable and attentive. We would definitely request her when we return. The food was delicious!
Wait staff was terrific. We lingered to talk and they were okay with that. Food was great.
It’s always a fabulous time at the Old Ebbitt and yesterday was no exception!
The restaurant was incredibly loud! When I made the reservation I requested a booth in the restaurant, we had a booth in the bar so it was extremely difficult to talk and on a busy aisle. Our server came by every 3 minutes to see if we were ready to order even after we said we’d like to enjoy our first cocktail. We both ordered medium rare Steak Frites and the steak was medium well and so tough! We were both subtly trying to remove gristle and fat from our mouths as we ate, I left most of mine, without any acknowledgement from the server, she just wanted the table to turn! To add insult to injury I had a $30 tab to park for just over 2 hours!
This is our favorite place to go when friends come to town. Everything was fabulous!
Great experience in a local celebrated restaurant. Only drawback was a restricted menu for gluten free options.
Great food, service and ambience all around. Super friendly staff. Took my parents who were visiting from out of town, and they loved it!
As always, good food. Oysters were amazing. Calamari is always consistenly good.
Couldn’t have been better. Service, food, and ambiance were wonderful.
Ive been trying to make dinner reservations at OEG for a few months now. Timing never lined up to my visits into DC. Found myself there for lunch yesterday and saw why reservations were hard to come by. Food, atmosphere, staff. Everything off the charts. Cant wait to come back.
Old Ebbitt is a reliably good place for lunch or dinner at a classic Washington establishment. Our experience this past time was not stellar in terms of service. The server did not catch one of our orders and had to scramble to get it after everyone else was served. The manager on duty wasn't super-friendly or warm, had kind of an attitude. But otherwise, it was a satisfying experience.
We finished our fabulous DC vacation with lunch at Old Ebbits. It was the cherry on top of a great Thanksgiving trip! Oysters on the half shell were tasty and the crab cake is worth the cost. The handmade pasta dishes were delicious! Wonderful service. Thank you for a great meal in a memorable place!
The food at the old Ebbitt Grill was excellent. Cooked to perfection and ample portions. The service not so much. It was a busy night and I think they were a little understaffed. Nonetheless, it was an excellent meal and I will go back soon.
I booked a table in the main room, but got an table in another room where I was almost alone. Normality the service is very good at Old Ebbit, but this time it was terrible. They forgot my orders, the food was cold
Visiting just after Thanksgiving and looking for a good dinner experience; Ebbitt was a great option. We each had clam chowder, and salmon and crab cake for entrees. Both were excellent; next time we think we would try the local chowder instead of NE clam chowder but that is nitpicking. Attentive service and welcoming in a beautiful space.
I won't be coming back. The atmosphere has always been a part of my experience and I didn't appreciate being seated in what appeared to be an elevator lobby.
Had a great time as usual. Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
This place was fantastic as usual! Great food, service, location!
Amazing ambience and delicious food. We recommend meatloaf or the salmon salad. The crème brûlée is also first rate.
Great night for my parents anniversary!
