We know it is no fun to wear a mask while enjoying a night out, but our staff's safety is no laughing matter.
We require all guests to wear a mask while moving about the restaurant, and when speaking to Clyde's employees.
Masks have been a hot topic, with passionate views on all sides. With our team and their families' health at stake, we must err on the side of caution. We hope you will understand and look forward to the day, hopefully soon, when we can all throw our masks in the trash.

Moving to DC and wanted a memorable dining experience.
An excellent staple in DC. Coming to Ebbitt Grill is always a delight. The service is superb and the food is delicious.
Great food and service, like always.
Best crab cakes ever! And the service was excellent.
We love Old Ebbit. We visited on Mother’s Day with our adult children and toddler grandson. We requested a table change to better fit his needs. The staff was warm and accommodating. The food, as always, was wonderful!
Old Ebbitt Grill was a great experience for Mother's Day! Greatly enjoyed the food and atmosphere of the restaurant.
We attended this establishment for our Mother's Day brunch and it didn't disappoint! Our waiter was just terrific....friendly and energetic! It was a hit.
Was awesome! Always love old ebbitt grill and once again, they didn’t disappoint.
Food and service was first rate. Our experience was pleasant from the initial greeting until our warn farewell.
Food was great and so was our time talking with friends. We will be back to this restaurant soon.
Old Ebitt grill is still the old try and true place to eat in Washington DC. We have been here many times and it has held the appeal that we live.
Their chili is the best around for me. It has the true beef flavor with a tad extra Worchestshire sauce in the chili (that I love). Crab cake was loaded with crab and my Rueben was excellent.
Amazing!! Simply amazing!! Location, Food, Cocktails, Staff all amazing!! Can't wait until the next time!!
My husband graduated with a degree! Yes very friendly atmosphere in an versatile customer experience. My family loved it. We will be back. Thanks.
My favorite restaurant to take out of town guests. Food, service, and ambiance are fabulous. Just be sure to tell the host staff that you are looking for the historical ambiance. They have seating outside the main part of the restaurant. It is modern with a more formal flair.
As always, it was a pleasure to dine at the Old Ebbitt Grill, a personal favorite for years and an institution in Washington, DC.
The service was friendly and professional; the food was excellent and the experience was a pleasure.
Food was amazing & service was even better! J.Luke is great!!
Amazing crab soup and absolutely delectable strawberry short cake with a southern biscuit.
I have been to Ebbitts several times over the years.Has always been a great spot to bring guests to. Food , service and value great for the location.
my guest and I were catching up and the staff was mindful of our delays in ordering, etc. very pleasant experience...and the usual great food.
Dinner with my wife and son after picking him up at KDCA. Great raw bar happy hour 9-11 p.m. Crabcakes and chicken Alfredo were both really good . Burger- a little dry. Tasty desserts for take-home. Decent draft beer selection, but I wish they had more local beers. Impeccable service and ambiance as always.
The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing!
A very quaint restaurant. A mainstay of DC elites. The art on the wall was quintessential DC. I expected a Senator to walk in any second. The food was good. We ate too much. The restaurant is quite pricey for the area of the US.
We had the New England clam
chowder which was yummy, as was the Buffalo chicken wings, the Maryland Crab soup, and grilled steak salad. We weren’t as pleased with the Fried Chicken rice bowl, but we live in an area known for wonderful Asian food, so our expectations might be high.
The crab cakes were out of this world, and the band made pasta was delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I can’t wait to go back!
We suggest requesting an indoor booth when booking. The charm is definitely in the history of the restaurant. We watched as they led every person/group to the patio at the back of the restaurant. It's a nice ambiance if you're not expecting to dine at the Old Ebbitt Grill, but if you are, you will be disappointed. It actually became a game to see if we could predict who would come back in to request a table inside. Almost everyone who was taken out there to dine came back in and requested to be seated inside.
Other than that, the food and our server were wonderful!
A must go when you are in D.C.
Brought friends from out of town and my husband who also had never been. They all loved it!
Old Ebbitt Grill is an institution and iconic for a reason. Great food, awesome service and incredible ambiance/atmosphere.
The raw oysters were EXTREMELY good!! My family and I will eat here every time we come back to DC!
Seated in back area but still had fun. Food is way overpriced but you know that going in
Be careful...this could be your Old Ebbit Grill experience.
I've never been disappointed with this historic, yet relevant restaurant. The Chesapeake Eggs Benedict is the best in DC!
Had friends visit from California. Made reservations for main room. Was put in the farthest atrium table possible. Asked hostess if we could move and she was beyond rude. Really sad this DC staple is turning to crap.
A DC must! Delicious food, reasonably priced. Fantastic service. Great bar with a good buzz. Old school.
Alexis was our server and OMG she was the best and the food was simply phenomenal! Had a 6PM reservation and did not get out of there until 9PM. Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent food in a great environment. Will be back!
The Old Ebbitt Grill is our go to spot for any special celebrations!
The waiters are always so knowledgeable about the menu, the food and drinks are amazing and make sure to end your meal with the peanut butter pie!
It was a great luncheon for my adult kids and my elderly mother! Something on the menu for everyone! Service was perfect. They accommodated us by moving us to a different table in order to make my mom more comfortable.
This is hands down the BEST meal we have ever had. Our waiter, Johnny, was incredible and made us feel so welcome. I look forward to coming back to DC and visiting again!!!
The staff was extremely accommodating to our group. Additionally, the reservation was convenient for our family.
