Kristin, our server, made our first visit to Old Ebbitt Grill such an enjoyable experience. The oysters were scrumptious and we loved the decor!
Came to Old Ebbitt for a long birthday brunch and it did not disappoint. The booth seating is comfortable and private, and allowes for a more intimate brunch than some other DC restaurants. I love the dark lighting and decor. This isn't a "lively brunch" but an absolute DC classic. We had the cheese tray to start, sandwiches and french toast, and a brownie sundae for dessert. Along with great cocktails, this is always five stars for me.
The food and service were excellent. We had the Steak Frites, the Shimp and Grits, and the AMAZING French Toast.
Had a really good lunch/brunch with an old, dear friend. The experience could not have been nicer: great food, really helpful and pleasant server, in a terrific space. Really recommend The Old Ebbitt Grill!
Kurt was our waiter and he was FABULOUS!! Shrimp and grits were DELICIOUS and the Peanut Butter Pie is THE BEST!!!!
Wait staff was inattentive to our needs , it was almost as if they were tired and upset to have another party sat in their section .
Waitress was unavailable for an extended period of time
The waitress told us there were no substitutions to any entree, which was difficult as I am allergic to mushrooms and seafood. The fettuccine alfredo was (apparently) very heavily covered and immersed in mushrooms, and unable to be changed as they (again, apparently) don't cook items when ordered. It is labeled "chicken fettuccine" on the menu, not "mushroom and alfredo sauce over pasta". The cheese platter was overpriced as we got cheese 4 blocks about the size of 1" by 1". The cheese platter did not come with crackers or light bread and instead is served with dense raisin bread that overpowered each cheese. The caesar salad had little to no dressing with limp lettuce. The hummus was runny and flavorless. The pastrami sandwich was the best of the bunch.. 6/10 but tasted like it sat for a while as both bottom halves of the bread were soggy. This restaurant clearly capitalizes on it's name and history alone. The service was less than desirable and the food was subpar to say the least. Would not recommend.
Great experience! I come here a lot but my wife has never been. They did not disappoint. Our waiter was excellent! I don’t write reviews if that tells you anything
Wonderful experience!!! JJ made sure that me and my partners date night was one to remember!
Sat at bar and had to wait to be served. Never brought items I asked for (water, bread and extra sauce).
Everything was excellent! We enjoyed brunch, the relaxed atmosphere, and had a great meal. Our waitress was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Nami was a great waiter. Very pleasant and knowledgeable.
Brunch with out of town sisters after 1-1/2 years. Delicious lunch, great service from Nathan and the essence of Old Ebbitt- one of our favorite places to dine.
Our server Ronnie was amazing!!! And so was his assistant. They both were super friendly and helpful. The food was incredible as well.
I made a reservation for 6pm and was walked through the beautiful and elegant restaurant to be sat outside of the restaurant in office space. We ordered Calamari for a starter which came out cold, our soda was flat (but was remedied) and our $28 steak was waffle house quality at best. Our server was the only saving grace.
Amazing service. Mediocre food.
The food was excellent; in addition to our entrees we really enjoyed the bread service was prompt but my rushed. She waited to get hot bread fresh out of the oven for us & replenished it once we consumed the first offering.
We experience terrific service from Sol and enjoyed oysters on the half shell that were amazing. Order the grilled swordfish or the shrimp cake - you won’t regret it
It was a great dinner. But really wish an order or oyster Rockefeller was more then just 4
This was one of the few restaurants that appeared to be fully staffed which must say a lot about how they treat their employees. Always a favorite when I visit D.C.
Very nice restaurant, amazing decor. Good service and the meals are delicious.
Good to be back again!
food was good, we were seated in smaller dining room to the left which was extremely loud. server was brusk/perfunctory.
the chili was like canned the baby back ribs were horrible . drinks fair, deserts fair. waiter not good never asked how food was. he already knew. never again
As always the food was first rate the service impeccable
nice place, food was nice but not specifically innovative, entree portion actually small, service very nice, ambience nice,
We had a great evening!
Our dinners were great and the wine delicious.
Our server was nice and attentive. Definitely would go back when in DC!
This historic DC restaurant won't disappoint. The Capital-themed venue is elegant and the Oysters Rockefeller are delicious.
We always love going out for dinner here!
We had such a lovely time dining in this historical restaurant. I loved reading about the history and all the decor. We were 2 couples, one from Chicago and one from Texas and we all got steak and they were great—and we know our steak!
Our server, Erica was fabulous in every way and really made our experience a pleasure.
I felt very comfortable and welcomed in this historic space. The food was good and the service was personal and professional. I highly recommend.
Excellent food waitress was fantastic. The ambience The decor everything was perfect.
Had a small celebration with friends and the restaurant was wonderful.
This was a delightful experience! The food was excellent: I had the fried chicken and waffles, which I eat everywhere that serves it, and it as a very satisfying rendition. The wine list was good. We got a reservation for 1:30 at 1:15, and we were able to walk from the Mall right to the door and be seated as soon as we walked in. The environment is very good: we had a booth with glass partitions, the ceiling is high, and the lighting was largely ambient, so we had the experience of enclosure with vistas, while still being quiet enough to talk.
Great service! Food was excellent!!
Sunday Brunch selections imo were pricey. Service and food were great! Bathroom off of the upper bar level was filthy
Outstanding all around
Wonderful waitress made the experience more enjoyable
Thank you for the excellent service and food! The wait staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional.
