Very lively place. Recommend a reservation as it stays busy, even late at night. Service was good, food was great!

Excellent brunch at the bar for our first visit. Bartender and food were top notch. Salmon with ricotta was superb! Yogurt with granola was phenomenal. Eggs benny was standard and good. We went on A Sunday at 11am. Worth it! We will return. Make reservations.

Doesn’t seat reservations on time and makes up for it by losing your dinner order.

Service was horrific. He forgot our drink orders, took our menus away after appetizers. Food was okay.

Service was good. I saw many entrees that made me second guess my order but my dish was top class. Got the pork chop and was very happy/satisfied. The blue cheese in the olives could be much better.

One of the people in our party spilt a glass of wine from the bottle we had purchased. Our waiter was super nice and gave her a free replacement glass of wine! Really good service

Great service, even though it was very crowded. We were packed like sardines at a table for 2 - that took away from the overall experience. However, the food was very good. Nice twist on a Caesar salad, using tender kale. Succulent jumbo lump crab cakes, loaded with big lumps of sweet crab. The pasta with spicy homemade sausage was also excellent. The hand cut fries are very good, as was the bourbon bread pudding dessert. It's loud and crowded, but full of history and "clubby" character. I'd go back to try some of the fresh seafood offerings.

Had breakfast with wife. I have been going to OE for years. Never been disappointed.

We were sat right next to the server station... literally right next, so servers were constantly passing real close to our table. The food was not great. Steak burnt, fries soggy with oil and vinegar, fish just ok. Not worth the hype or price.

Not very quick, and they didn't stick to the reservantion time made. I suggest leaving lots of time to get through dinner if you're trying to get to a show on time!

If you can, make a reservation of the wait will be long; but worth it. The food is excellent and plentiful and the menu has a wide variety of dishes to suit everyone's tastes and/or limitations. The prices are right for what you get.

Left waiting for over 15 minutes to get seated with a reservation. Complete circus at hostess table.

Outstanding experience! Loved the ambience. Very close to The White House. Safe, walkable area for families and couples, even late at night. Crab & artichoke dip is to die for!

Things were a big crowded and hectic at the host’s podium, but once we were seated our server was lovely and the food was amazing. It’s definitely a nice historic spot to check out when you’re in the DC area.

It was my daughter’s graduation dinner. I spent 412.00.
My steak was tough. The ravioli was inedible.
We go there every time we are in town. Very disappointing. The bathrooms were very unclean.

Been to the OE many times now and everytime after we wonder why we go back. A bit Overpriced and limited selection and extremely noisy! If you eat out in the Atrium it is quieter but still limited and overpriced food selection! Food is half decent but everything is so salty from the Oysters to Even the butter that had a layer of salt on top of it, very strange!

The restaurant was crowded, noisy and uncomfortable. The fresh oysters were fresh and good quality. Our table for two was way too small to accommodate the food and drink brought to us.

Great food and service along with a piece of history! Even though we arrived during shift change, the manager was quick to come to our table and take our drink order and then server(TuTu) was there before drink came. We were treated very well even got a birthday strawberry cake for my wife! Make this a must stop on your DC trip. Definitely make your reservation on Open Table or expect to wait a while!

We had a reservation, but the restaurant was extremely busy. We had to flag our waitress down to order our meal. The oysters were the best part of the meal. Most everyone at our table (5) felt the food was just okay. I've had better food and service at this restaurant earlier in early April when my sister and I had an early dinner around 4:30 PM. I love the atmosphere of this place, which is why I'll keep coming back...but I think I'll stick to tried and true dishes, such as steak for future orders.

Arrived a little early for our reservation so waited at the bar. Quick service there and a minimum wait for our table. The noise level was very loud maybe because the place was packed. We had the swordfish and the scallops and both were very good. Overall experience was very good but don’t expect a quiet conversation.

Great service as always and an outstanding menu for oysters, grilled or raw or in a stew.

I try to always get here when I'm in DC.

I brought colleagues who were new to the restaurant and they were equally impressed.
