This is our favorite place to go when friends come to town. Everything was fabulous!
Great experience in a local celebrated restaurant. Only drawback was a restricted menu for gluten free options.
As always, good food. Oysters were amazing. Calamari is always consistenly good.
Great food, service and ambience all around. Super friendly staff. Took my parents who were visiting from out of town, and they loved it!
Couldn’t have been better. Service, food, and ambiance were wonderful.
Ive been trying to make dinner reservations at OEG for a few months now. Timing never lined up to my visits into DC. Found myself there for lunch yesterday and saw why reservations were hard to come by. Food, atmosphere, staff. Everything off the charts. Cant wait to come back.
Old Ebbitt is a reliably good place for lunch or dinner at a classic Washington establishment. Our experience this past time was not stellar in terms of service. The server did not catch one of our orders and had to scramble to get it after everyone else was served. The manager on duty wasn't super-friendly or warm, had kind of an attitude. But otherwise, it was a satisfying experience.
We finished our fabulous DC vacation with lunch at Old Ebbits. It was the cherry on top of a great Thanksgiving trip! Oysters on the half shell were tasty and the crab cake is worth the cost. The handmade pasta dishes were delicious! Wonderful service. Thank you for a great meal in a memorable place!
The food at the old Ebbitt Grill was excellent. Cooked to perfection and ample portions. The service not so much. It was a busy night and I think they were a little understaffed. Nonetheless, it was an excellent meal and I will go back soon.
I booked a table in the main room, but got an table in another room where I was almost alone. Normality the service is very good at Old Ebbit, but this time it was terrible. They forgot my orders, the food was cold
Visiting just after Thanksgiving and looking for a good dinner experience; Ebbitt was a great option. We each had clam chowder, and salmon and crab cake for entrees. Both were excellent; next time we think we would try the local chowder instead of NE clam chowder but that is nitpicking. Attentive service and welcoming in a beautiful space.
I won't be coming back. The atmosphere has always been a part of my experience and I didn't appreciate being seated in what appeared to be an elevator lobby.
Had a great time as usual. Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
This place was fantastic as usual! Great food, service, location!
Amazing ambience and delicious food. We recommend meatloaf or the salmon salad. The crème brûlée is also first rate.
Great night for my parents anniversary!
Excellent wait staff... Super professional... Sardines where delish and the steak was muah....definitely going back.
We loved everything about this place! Service, food, drinks, atmosphere. . . All wonderful!
Love when I get to DC and have time to dine at Old Ebbitt Grill. Ambiance, food and service never disappoint. A special place.
Food was amazing! One of my favorite DC restaurants!
Had the Walter - pastrami with coleslaw - excellent - lean meet - very tasty
Great brunch experience.
Some persons in the bar behind were way too loud and really affected sour table.
Very nice place and good! The waitress was super friendly!
5 stars! Great meal.
We had a dining reservation at 3:00pm, but arrived at 2:00 pm & were seated right away! Very happy. A huge plus:) Pluses: The ambiance in the main dining room is comfy cozy. The waitress was very attentive. The blue mussel appetizer was delicious. Cons: The steak frites was too salty.
Four of us. Two wrong steaks were delivered. Basically 100% entire wrong order for two patrons. Burger was just average for the expectation of the place. Buffalo chicken sandwich could have been Chick-fil-A. Which Chick-fil-A is better. Overall not worth the $$$. The waiter did correct the filet orders. One was dry and over-cooked. Wife was happy with hers after a 2 hour wait after being seated. The mgr did correct the order. And comp the steaks. I did tip the waitress well. Wasn’t her fault I feel.
It is a great special restaurant. Whenever my husband and I travel to DC we will go there for lunch. The service is wonderful! Food is fantastic! Love it!
Great food, and atmosphere. It's my must go to place every time I visit DC!
Try dining at the oldest tavern in the city! Classic, old pub style and food including burgers, seafood, and an excellent raw bar. It’s a great spot for families with children or grab a seat at the bar if that is your thing. Relaxed and easy, quick and reliable service with a convenient location near the White House and many other attractions in the area. This does seem to get quite busy around lunchtime, so make your reservation!
Amazing thanksgiving dinner. Excellent service
Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful.
An awesome Thanksgiving dinner that was JUST like homemade. Wonderful service, fabulous wine...THE place for any celebration. THANK YOU !
A couple of excellent (& strong) cocktails, Oysters Rockefeller, and an entree to suit everyone, followed by our, of course. Impeccable service. I'm here every time I'm in town.
What an amazing place! The atmosphere and the venue are great. You really get the feeling of the oldest-saloon in DC. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and polite. The drinks are on point and the food takes all the glory. Their oysters are fresh and delicious. A must try! The main courses were perfect too. The duck and their thanksgiving feast were extraordinary. A must, when you’re visiting (or living) DC.
Family Thanksgiving dinner
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving made special by the fact Old Ebbitt Grille could accommodate us. Mauricio our waiter was wonderful, pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious and we took full advantage of the Turkey Thanksgiving dinner!!! Great experience … Enjoyed by the Anderson’s
