Recommended by family before our visit to DC and it was worth it! It was a beautiful setting, service was wonderful and food was great. So glad we were able to fit it in while sightseeing.
We arrived early and we were seated immediately for our party of 9. Food was delicious as always with healthy portions. Highly recommended as we sampled a variety of dishes and none disappointed.
Our dinner was amazing and our dessert was even more amazing! The salted caramel bread pudding and the apple crumble were delicious! We enjoyed every minute of our time and our waiter Jordan was very attentive and suggested the best meals!
Ross, our server, made my girlfriend’s birthday extra special. All his recommendations were spot on and we had the best time. Thank you to all the staff who made this evening possible for us, I would HIGHLY recommend!
The food was outstanding and our server was excellent. The menu provided many choices with both value choices and more expensive items. I had oysters and the steak frites and my wife had trout, all of which were excellent. The restaurant is huge with a great atmosphere, we had a window booth and were not rushed through dinner and pre-dinner cocktails. This lived up to its reputation!
Lonnie gave us excellent service. The meatloaf and flounder were superb.
My friend and I have been going to Old Ebbitt for over 30 years. The food has always been 5 star. I commented during our lunch yesterday that I felt like the ambience was the best I have experienced there. Our waiter was awesome. I will ask for him when I return. The food was, as always, phenomenal !!!
Such an awesome place with a great vibe & tasty food. Ask for Bob's section. He was fun, informative, and had great recommendations.
Great service and food. I’m an out of towner and every time I’m in DC I try to make it Ebbitt Grill. Never disappoints!
Here for 10 days came here twice. Great food, oysters were delish, service was wonderfull!
We enjoyed our experience with the Old Ebbitt Grill.
A classic DC place to eat. Great service and great atmosphere. We went for brunch and chose to go the lunch route. It was good not great. The oysters were awesome. The French dip was good not great. The salad was wonderful!
The best restaurant in dc, bar none. Food and service is outstanding.
Our server, Jared, was awesome. Kind, personable, thoughtful with suggestions. 10 out of 10.
Food was amazing. Those shrimp and grits - what a treat to get to have them!
awesome as always. new/updated menu equally engaging and delicious.
My fiancé and I dined at Old Ebbitt for their late night oyster happy hour. The restaurant was fairly busy for 11pm. Service was impeccable and the food was excellent. In addition to the oysters, we also had the crab dip (best in the city IMO), clam chowder and the Clyde’s burger. Will definitely be returning.
Old Ebbitt never disappoints.
The service is consistently outstanding, and the food is very good.
Better to eat in main area of the restaurant - we were placed in the hotel lobby which didn’t feel very posh so felt like we did not have the same experience as the regular restaurant diners.
Great food, great service, fun lively atmosphere
More than I expected a friend recommended it I figured it was just a bar but it was an excellent restaurant the shell fish and Burgers and Reuben were the best I highly recommend it!!
Went during lunch time and really enjoyed at atmosphere and historic ambience. The oysters and desserts were great but the main course was okay. Overall, nice place to visit for the history and looks.
This is a classic in downtown DC. The decor was unique, food was great, service was phenomenal, and the list goes on.
This spot never disappoints. Classic DC dining with a menu that has something for everyone! We started with oysters and enjoyed the filet and trout for dinner. You can’t lose!
In town for a visit and wanted to have the oysters. Great time
The atmosphere is pure DC and loved the ambience. Service was professional and attentive and the food was amazing.
It was a tragic experience. I'm not sure if it was because I had a wheelchair or because we had a child, but even with reservations made months in advance we were relegated to the "atrium" which resembled a mall food court. Waiter disappeared after taking original order. I'm so disappointed because this has always been one of my favorite spots with gorgeous art and lively ambiance. Apparently not everyone gets to have that experience.
Great experience. Great cocktails, great food. Server was an absolute professional and made great recommendations. Loved the pork chop!
Our server was so attentive and aware of our needs
Visiting DC & wanted to experience this storied restaurant. Good food & drink. Excellent service.
Very nice birthday lunch celebration. We all loved ours meals; jalapeño burger, cheeseburger and turkey sandwich. Blood Mary and wine selection was great. Cool old building with lots of history. Recommend.
Fabulous! Food, wine list, service, ambiance all exceptional. We were there 1:30p for lunch and it was lively. Highly suggest reservations. A must-visit if you are in DC. Enjoy!
It never fails to impress! Great food and wonderful service!
Consistent menu and food quality.
On a trip to DC we enjoyed lunch. It was nice to sit down and be served after taking in the memorials on the National Mall.
Great service & food. Loved it
The most amazing food! Definitely going to dine again
Old Ebbitt Grill one of our favorites in Washington DC we try and stop by whenever we’re in town and it never disappoints. Clearly a place of history and ambience with very good service and food.
Food was excellent but extremely disappointed about removing crab cake from menu since that was reason for visit. Dine at Old Ebbitt every visit to DC.
Food was good, service was okay. Drinks took forever to receive.
