We had a nice night at Old Ebbitt, our regular go-to on arrival day in DC. The calamari was excellent, as were the crab cakes and the Reuben sandwich. The blueberrry cobbler dessert was an excellent way to cap the meal. The service was outstanding. Touristy, but worth it.

Mockingjay cocktail! Delicious clam chowder, plenty of clams and not overly rich. Also the pastrami sandwich was made perfect with the slaw, skip the dressing but not the fries. Don’t bother with the steak salad. Beef was extremely tough and chewy and overall nothing good about it.

The taste of the food wasn’t anything special. The restraunt is over rated. For the value of the meals was expecting more flavor. Ate similar meals at different restaurants at a lower cost with better taste.

As first time visitors to the Old Ebbitt Grill we were not sure what to expect. That said, our welcome by the host and service by Johnny our waiter were both excellent. Johnny did not rush our time while we enjoyed our dinner. We would return again next time in DC. Thank you!
