   Good meal and good service. Had eaten at a sister restaurant (Clyde’s) and the menu was similar, but this was better. Noise level pretty high for conversation,nthough.

   We were in town for spring break with the kiddos. In researching the best dining experiences, Old Ebbitt Grill was highly recommended as a must do. I made reservations two weeks in advance through Open Table and I’m glad I did. When we arrived it was jam packed. We were warmly greeted by staff and suggested where we could wait. We were seated on the back side of the restaurant where it wasn’t as noisy and we were pleasantly pleased. Our waitress was excellent and the food was amazing! Try the Crab/Artichoke Dip! Old School Vibe and you could smell the food as soon as you enter. Highly recommend.

   Restaurant was bustling. Oysters on half shell were fantastic and even better with happy hour pricing. Steak and burgers were cooked to perfection. We all had room for dessert and peanut butter pie and bread pudding were the choices. Both great choices. Considering how busy the restaurant was, I was impressed at how seamless the service was. Overall, I would highly recommend!

    Delicious food, excellent service, but felt a tad rushed. 3 courses, 2 drinks, out in under an hour. The scallops were delicious, but I found the price a bit high for 5 scallops and 3 tiny fingerling potatoes cut in half.

    Loud, chaotic dining experience. After a fifteen minute wait at the hostess stand we were seated at a two-top immediately adjacent to the check-in stand that bad been empty since we had arrived. We proceeded to be molested by guests crowding in to the lobby waiting for an empty table. They were loud and pushy and no one tried to calm them down so that we wouldn’t be jostled while eating our meal. The waiter was professional and polite, but frankly overwhelmed by the volume of diners. The food was good but not the greatest. And three years after the start of the pandemic I am greatly peeved by restaurants like this one that continue to charge a pandemic recovery fee when they have crowds of people waiting to get in the doors.

    The "inside" was very lively. We sat, however, in the way inside, as in a lobby of an office building. Not quite the ambiance we were looking for. The food was good, not great. The service was good, not great. I was expecting old school steak house type of food and services and this wasn't quite that....

    It was our anniversary and it was outstanding!! The crab cakes, oysters, steak, bread pudding, and brownie sundae were some of the best food ever. Our waiter was awesome! Love the atmosphere. 10 out of 10… would highly recommend.

    OEG is always one of my stops when I get to DC and as always, it never disappoints. Our reservation was for later than our time needed, so upon calling, the hostess told us to come over and they can see what they could do. Upon arrival, they immediately got us to a table. That was so appreciated. Our server, Ross, was superb. His personality was verifiably genuine as it never changed from table to table and his attention to detail was spot on. Thanks again for a fantastic time! The oysters were scrumptious! On a side note….please bring back your deep fried oyster platter. See you next time for sure!

    I ordered the Old Town City Hall meal, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, home fries, pancakes and fruit since they didn’t have turkey sausage. Everything was delicious, hot food was hot and stayed hot, the coffee was strong and very good. Nohemi was a great waitress and I’d definitely go back anytime I’m in D.C.

    Go here at 9 am on Monday. Make a reservation and ask for a booth by the window. Order an omelette and eggs Benedict. You’ll be transported to another era, if dark wood, mirrors, green velvet and hunting decor. Quiet. Refined. Delicious breakfast. Two days later, we went here for lunch. We were seated against the interior wall within inches of the bus station. The place was jammed. Loud. Uncomfortable. Good food. What a difference time and day make!

    Dinned at Old Ebbitt Grill for the first time when I was in DC for Xmas 2022. Loved it so much that I had to return. The oysters were amazing. Made this return visit all about the Raw Bar. I was not disappointed. Waiter was really friendly and stressed many times that there was no rush and I should just enjoy it, which I did. Have recommended it to many friends. Make sure you make a reservation through OpenTable. Waiting time for guests without reservations during Cherry Blossom Festival was 1:30! Enjoy!

    The food was good, except my friends chicken sandwich was tough and difficult to eat. The drinks were good. We had reservations at 5:30 and that’s when we were seated. It’s close to the White House so convenient from the Mall also. Not local, so won’t eat there again this trip but might consider it again if we return.

    The restaurant has a certain reputation but as a first time visitor I found it to be just “eh”. Certainly the atmosphere is unique and we did find the service to be excellent. We made reservation through Open Table and that was very easy and convenient. We were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waitress/server Angie was wonderful, very friendly and personable. The disappointment surrounded the menu options, food quality, and presentation. Perhaps the reviews set our expectations too high? Menu/restaurant does not offer flavored cappuccinos or lattes Orange juice was served room temperature & certainly not refreshing. Brunch Menu options are limited & pretty standard if not below. I have been to other restaurants that have much more exciting and scrumptious options. They should make known that their daily breakfast options are available during brunch service as we would not have known had we not asked. Just appeared the customer had to do more questioning and investigating to discover what was truly available which is disappointing for the experience you believe you are going to have. Really nothing overly exciting to share. We were unfortunately underwhelmed. Perhaps other meals are better than brunch??

    While the restaurant itself is a very neat place, I am disappointed with the food. My first choice was the Duroc pork chop. The pork chop itself was very bland and I didn’t care for the sauce that was on it. It was also over cooked. I decided to get something different so I ordered their chicken fettuccine, one of their homemade pasta dishes. While this dish could have been great, it was incredibly salty. The chicken was very tender, lots of mushrooms, and the pasta was cooked right. But again I could only take a few bites because of the salt level. The fillet my husband had on the other hand, was excellent. All in all, I don’t see any reason to return.

    Amazing food but the service was lacking during the middle. We had empty dishes and glasses sitting on our table for quite a while but still is a must see for the oysters! They are MASSIVE! I got the tuna with capers and it was honestly one of the best food “in a can” I’ve ever had in my life.

    My first experience at Old Ebbitt’s and I cannot wait to return!While I had heard how lovely it is inside and how excellent their burgers were, I was totally in awe of the fabulous personal service we received. Our servers Leah and Todd couldn’t have been more attentive and friendly as well. Our food was excellent! And the prices very reasonable considering the popularity of this restaurant. Our burgers were fabulous as we had been told, the crab dip was the most delicious ever! And the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream was piping hot and tasted like homemade. What a fabulous meal we had here!

    So glad we booked a reservation because this places was PACKED! We waited only five minutes after checking in to be seated. The dining room is beautiful with the green velvet seats and DC artwork. The noise level was a little more than what I expected for such a place. The food was delicious though- I had the chicken club sandwich that was served on a sesame bun- so good! I would definitely go back.

    Old Ebbitt lives up to the hype and then some. Our waiter, Bob, made our dining experience even better by providing detailed explanations and suggestions given our appetites and allergies. We had the hummus appetizer and for entrees I went with the Crab Cakes, my daughter with the Steak Frites and my wife had the meatloaf entree. All were amazing! Definitely coming back next time we're near DC visiting our Marine and will be sure to ask to be served by Bob.
