Would not go back.

Seated on time. Server very rushed.
Oyster Rockefeller “meh” have had much better.
Crab cake “ that we are known for” small, 2 inches in diameter, not special.
A lot of good french fries.
Good cole slaw in a condiment container.
We’re not offered coffee or dessert. Had to turn that table over.

Atmosfera veramente americana, è uno dei ristoranti più vecchi di Washington ma l’ho trovato molto vero e anche il menù rispettava le mie aspettative

The food was mostly delicious! Some sand in the oysters and we had to ask for forks and an additional lemon wedge. The scallops were divine. Key lime pie and creme brulee on point! The potatoes with the steak were tasteless, though. Overall, a great dinner at a historic restaurant.

The primary reason for my visit is they were open early for brunch on Saturday. I desperately wanted a mimosa with my morning meal but also had an 11 am ticket for the museum. The mimosa was good and it was a generous serving size. The waiter was friendly and generally prompt. The food was good - nothing memorable but nothing to complain about. Convenience and location made this place worth the visit.

The regular tables are very small and very closed to each other. You can hardly enjoy dinner since you hear the conversation of the table next to you. I had been there before and I had asked for a booth when I reserve the table but the restaurant did not respect my wish. Also, I find it extremely annoying that we were 6 minutes late because the metro was not running well, and I received a very offensive email from Opentable telling me how impolite it was of me not to show up for a reservation. Before sending emails like that, I think that first you should wait at least 10 minutes and secondly, try to find out why the guests are not there exactly at the reservation time. There is another Clyde´s restaurant in Gallery Place and I am going to try to go there in the future. Old Ebbitt is too touristy, the food and service is good but the experience of eating there is not very positive.

Perfect place for a celebratory lunch with out of town guests! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We felt like we were the only patrons in the restaurant; the waiter catered his service to our party and threw in some complementary birthday treats. I would absolutely return for another occasion.

On a recent trip to DC We were looking for a Family-friendly restaurant with good seafood. Old Ebbitt Grill’s oyster happy hour (6 different types of oysters, all excellent), and their something-for-everyone menu was delicious and ticked all the boxes. Waitstaff was attentive and helpful with recommendations. Decor was lovely. Atmosphere busy and lively, but we never felt rushed. Portions are good size and prices are very reasonable. We will definitely return.

The Old Ebbitt Grill is a must visit. The food was fantastic. The Happy Hour specials are also fantastic. The staff is friendly and very attentive. Not only were we checked on by our server Mauricio, the cooking staff also checked to see how we were enjoying the meal. The original decor and atmosphere add to the entire experience.

I was visiting DC and I found this under the most popular restaurants and made a reservation right away (I made a reservation for lunch, I wanted to go to dinner there the previous night but it was not available). I arrived 20 min before my reservation and was seated right away. I loved the whole mood of the place as well as the decor. We got seated in and area off to the side which was quiet, the middle was more noisy. The food I ordered came out very quickly and was very delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is visiting DC.

Our experience was terrific. We had our our 10 year old grandson with us and he had a great time. Service was very good, never rushed. It was our first time there and my concern was, because it’s so busy we would be rushed to turn the table. Not the case at all. Also, scallops were great.

Our meal was half good, half not do good. The mussels appetizer we shared was delicious. My husband ordered happy hour priced oysters and steamed shrimp. The oysters were good, the shrimp overcooked. He told our server who did take the shrimp off of our final bill. I ordered their “signature” crab cake dinner. The crab cake was over breaded, the slaw was mediocre ... but the fries were very good. So kind of a disappointing mixed bag. We DID get seated just 5 minutes after our 5:30 pm reservation time - which doesn’t happen that often in this always very, very busy restaurant.

Their Happy Hour oyster deal is good deal. It can get quite busy and reservations are a must. The service is a little slow because of the volume of people that they have to serve. We enjoyed the atmosphere, decor and history of the place.

It was so wonderful! Our server, Katia, was extremely attentive and engaging. She was very knowledgeable, sharing with us the history of the restaurant. She had great suggestions for the menu based on our tastes, and most of all, allowed us to dine. She was a delight! We never felt rushed. She made our experience exceptional!

Food was really good! Cooked to perfection, not over seasoned, not over cooked. Serving size was well worth the money spent. Service was great, wait staff stayed on top of things even though it was extremely busy that night. Only issue I had was that the tables where really close. It made it difficult to sit down without bumping into the next table. We actually had to move or table just to get out. The surrounding tables had the same issue. The customers ended up helping each other move tables just so they could get in and out. I will go back though. Next time I'll just ask for a booth. Statesville
