The oysters were fresh and wonderful. My dining partner declared that the salmon salad was the best salmon he has ever had. The service was on point.

Place is amazing , history surrounds. Bar tenders were friendly and attentive , place was packed and we were hungry from sight seeing all day. They were able to set us up with apps before dinner.

Dinner was sandwiches, loved the Rubin and Cuban.

Would go back

Too busy. Rude male host at check in. Walk in guests with no reservations blocking the vestibule and preventing guests with reservations from getting to the podium. Erratic service and no sense of who your waiter is. Not good for a pricey establishment.

We went to Old Ebbitt's Grill after we toured the White House with our 11-year old sons'. It was the perfect place to go- the ambiance was as DC as could be and the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Definitely happy we made a reservation - the line at 1:30 was long! We loved our meal and experience there and would go again and highly recommend.

First time visitor to this restaurant. You MUST have reservations in advance. This place is clearly very popular and worth all the hoopla. It is very “old” feeling inside and fits well with the location. I will visit this restaurant again on our next visit. It was definitely a fun experience!

Grabbed lunch and enjoyed the blue crab pasta. It was excellent. As were the calamari and oysters. Service was good, short of great though. And the ambiance is simple, stale and true to itself... old Washington.

A must in Washington DC, oldest pub near the White House. Great place for lunch and dinner with a friend or family. The ambiance is or another place in time. Enjoy!

Service too slow, and very limited choices of food selections (rich in fat, butter and cream). It took the waitress 25 mins to take our orders; and 20 mins to bring our coffees.

We had another enjoyable evening here. My friend had the catfish and he enjoyed it. I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked. The lobster cocktail to start was really a chilled half lobster on ice (I think it was a half) and very good. Service was friendly and prompt, as usual. Late dinner Monday evening was not loud. All in all a very pleasant meal.

We were a little underwhelmed. Service was very slow and multiple people brought different things, so it was never clear who our server was. Food was good. It was packed and loud even in the middle of the afternoon (which was the only reservation slot available).

The good is always spot on! In addition the service is exquisite . I really enjoyed taking this guest of mine from out of town to old Ebbitt grill. My only caveat is that the noise level is a very loud inside of the restaurant due to the amount of people dining at that time .

We haven't been to DC in a few years. This trip, we discovered some new restaurants and really enjoyed them, but we had to go back to Old Ebbit Grill to maintain our old tradition. Not disappointed! The finest crab cake EVER and the Corn Beef Hash and Eggs was also outstanding. It's almost worth it just to look at the cool old bar, too. Great ambiance; great location. Old Ebbit will always be on our "must visit" list.
