We know it is no fun to wear a mask while enjoying a night out, but our staff's safety is no laughing matter.
We require all guests to wear a mask while moving about the restaurant, and when speaking to Clyde's employees.
Masks have been a hot topic, with passionate views on all sides. With our team and their families' health at stake, we must err on the side of caution. We hope you will understand and look forward to the day, hopefully soon, when we can all throw our masks in the trash.

This place always does it right. Very professional staff serving really good food. Truly a must of you are going to be in town for dinner. Prices are very fair given the quality of the food and overall dining experience.
All was great
Service was very good and the food was excellent and a good value. We were seated in a part of the restaurant we had not been in before and the atmosphere was not great, but still a very good experience.
Awesome place to go when visiting DC
Old Ebbitt Grill never disappoints. The service is attentive, but not intrusive and the food is consistently outstanding.
Our waiter Saad made our dining experience extra special.
The removal of crab cakes from the menu was a surprise and a disappointment. Eastern Market cafe still has cakes.
The receptionist was not friendly. A guest next to my table spoke loudly over the phone with turning on speaker phone. It was noisy but the staff did not take any measures to keep peaceful environment. I was disappointed.
First time here. Will be back in July as we enjoyed that much!
Our experience was fantastic, Leah was our server and she was super knowledgeable and friendly. Can’t wait to return.
This visit, like every past visit, was very enjoyable living up to our expectations. We introduced another couple to the OEG experience. They too plan to visit on every trip to DC.
We were in DC for 4 days, and visited this restaurant 4 times! Two dinners and two breakfasts-different days/times and consistently delicious with great service. The chef must be the best, because the food combinations and presentation were fantastic. I thought the prices were reasonable considering the caliber of food and service.
Old Ebbitt Grill was great for brunch. They don’t offer a lot of egg dishes, but what they do offer is very well made and tastes excellent.
The service, food and location were excellent! I highly recommend Old Ebbitt Grill.
I ordered my 4-year-old grandson a Shirley Temple and I don't think the bartender knew how to make it. It tasted awful. It also should have been in a see-through glass.
I had asked what the 'boy' version was of the Shirley Temple and waiter didn't know. Later I remembered - the "Roy Rogers."
We have been wanting to eat there for many years, and finally got there for the first time, celebrating with family we had not seen in two years. The food was really great, the dessert was out of this world magnificent, and the staff was personable and well trained. We couldn't be happier, and look forward to visiting again.
Perfect celebration dinner for our mother’s 80th birthday!
Took a friend here for his bday celebration. We both enjoyed our food and the staff. Reservations are a must as this place is very popular.
This place is amazing the food and service were fantastic. Highly recommend!
Consistently Outstanding service and food. We were early for our reservation, but we’re seated without any problem. We’re always glad to support this staple of DC restaurants!
You can't make a wrong selection fthe menu. There's something for everyone
Lovely place. Good food and nice environment. Excellent selection for both kids and adults.
Tutu is the best per usual!!! Miss the crab cakes of course, but the shrimp cakes were a nice substitute. Wonderful as always!
Really disappointing food. Chipotle serves a better meal. Appetizers were good but the main course was just awful. Definitely wouldn’t waste my time again.
We love this restaurant and visit every trip to DC. We had a small issue but the Manager went above and beyond handling it! We will continue visiting every trip! We recommend ♥️
We have eaten here before when we visit Washington DC. It is a institution in Washington and if you have never been you should try it.
The fun in eating here is the historical iconic setting. It's busy, loud and has the obvious turn and burn business model - not your place if you are looking for a quiet, leisurely meal. A reservation is a must. Food was good, service was good but not great. The meatloaf and whipped potatoes, while tasty, were still cold from the fridge - not sufficiently re-heated, but as the waiter never came back to ask how our meal was until we were finished there wasn't an opportunity to fix it. The drinks and bar service were excellent - if you want to experience the venue you might consider the bar first - then find a more suitable dining experience for the price.
Had my birthday dinner there at the suggestion of a friend and it lived up to all the hype. Amazing experience.
OEG has a fantastic bar and a great menu. We ordered the filet, salmon salad, walrus platter and hamburger. Everything was perfect. Service was excellent. We will be back!!
Perfect in every way
Our waiter was friendly and professional. The food exactly as described and executed perfectly. Their raw bar oyster selection is the best in DC. Old Ebbitt is an institution in DC and always a pleasure.
Great food and beautiful old building
Nice atmosphere and history. Great food. I hope they get their crab cakes back!
We really enjoyed the ambiance. The food was great and the service was attentive. We’ll go back!
Do not order steak at a clydes property. I should have raised a fuss and not paid for it. AND their signature crab cakes are off the menu due to price increases. So…raise the price.
Since the sale of this company, the product has suffered. A shame
Always a good meal!
First visit. Oysters Rockefeller excellent.pasta dishes very tasty. Waitress attentive, knowledgable and personable. Great atmosphere. Not pricey.
Wow! Great ambience, equally great food, and yes, phenomenal service! Will return next time we are in DC
Love the ambiance and great service. The menu seems to have taken a dive. Food seems more fried and touristy. Signature crab cakes not on the menu (due to pandemic supply chain pricing issues). My son reports the Buffalo chick sandwich was great but that’s not really something I would expect in the menu here. My fried oysters were a relatively small portion and a giant heap of fries. Just seems like overall a downgrade in quality of food but great old place and atmosphere was great.
Always a must when we come to D.C. we love old ebbitt. The unfortunate part of today’s visit was the lack of crab cakes. Evidently due to price and a shortage we were unable to get our favorite dish. But we did make it for Happy Hour so some oysters and shrimp cocktail filled in the gap.
