Amazing crab cake and scallops! Also got the cherry blossom margarita and “yes dear” for drinks! Would recommend the restaurant and making reservations
Wonderful setting, service & meal!
Excellent server. Our reservation was right on time. Always a great experience.
My mother’s birthday.
Best crab cakes and raw oysters in town!
First time visitor to this restaurant. You MUST have reservations in advance. This place is clearly very popular and worth all the hoopla. It is very “old” feeling inside and fits well with the location. I will visit this restaurant again on our next visit. It was definitely a fun experience!
Oysters and Squid Ink Linguine are amazing! Trout and Crab cakes too. We went here twice this week.
Loved the ambiance, food was just OK
Crab cakes were very good. Service was outstanding. Our server was awesome and wait time was reasonable.
I just wanted to show off your place to my family. They loved it.
Grabbed lunch and enjoyed the blue crab pasta. It was excellent. As were the calamari and oysters. Service was good, short of great though. And the ambiance is simple, stale and true to itself... old Washington.
A must in Washington DC, oldest pub near the White House. Great place for lunch and dinner with a friend or family. The ambiance is or another place in time. Enjoy!
Service too slow, and very limited choices of food selections (rich in fat, butter and cream). It took the waitress 25 mins to take our orders; and 20 mins to bring our coffees.
We were a little underwhelmed. Service was very slow and multiple people brought different things, so it was never clear who our server was. Food was good. It was packed and loud even in the middle of the afternoon (which was the only reservation slot available).
One of the worst service that I have experienced. I had to ask several times for water, napkins, and bread.....
Always a great experience! I strongly encourage reservations. I've never had a bad meal or poor service.
Such a special place! Delicious oysters and crab cakes. Very crowded, was happy we had reservations :)
Great to take out-of-town friends (Hawaii) as well as locals.
Excellent brunch! Our out of town visitors were impressed!
Great food, fun atmosphere, excellent service! We will definitely dine with you again!!
The good is always spot on! In addition the service is exquisite . I really enjoyed taking this guest of mine from out of town to old Ebbitt grill. My only caveat is that the noise level is a very loud inside of the restaurant due to the amount of people dining at that time .
The food and service staffs were great. A bit noisy but lively. Great steak.
Outstanding all around. Service/Food and Drinks. Never Disappointed. Family friendly and little bit of everything for everyone. Must order the Orca Platter!
It was fantastic as always
our go to place for oysters and martini's
We haven't been to DC in a few years. This trip, we discovered some new restaurants and really enjoyed them, but we had to go back to Old Ebbit Grill to maintain our old tradition. Not disappointed! The finest crab cake EVER and the Corn Beef Hash and Eggs was also outstanding. It's almost worth it just to look at the cool old bar, too. Great ambiance; great location. Old Ebbit will always be on our "must visit" list.
Once a month my mother and sister get together to have brunch and we try and go to a difference place each time. Our experience her was wonderful and the food was out of this world!!
Went for brunch. Both the food and service was excellent. We will back next time we are in DC.
Amazingly fresh food!
Had a great time. Food was good and vibe is always fun! A destination restaurant that works for all ages when visiting DC.
Order the crab cakes. You can tell a lot about a restaurant that one meal. The ratio of crab to filler is the key. Old Ebbitt Grill wins.
We arrived at OEB around 4pm on the day of our reservation and the restaurant was joined, to say the least. Nothing new for me as it is every single time I go there and that's why I had a reservation as past experience told me not to try to do a walk in with visitors in town. Tourists swarm the place and its a mix of tourist, adults, grandparents and children so always busy. I alerted staff to our early arrival and was advised our table wasnt ready (our booking was for 4.30pm) so they took my cell number and said they'd call us back when it was ready. We were just about to go outside to hand out and wait when I got called right back and we were directed to a lovely table (booth) closeby. Noise level was high becuase so many people and kids but its a pleasant, happy noise so no issues there. Toilets were a disaster. There were 12 women outside the restroom doors twice when I went downstairs. I tried to find other restrooms but no luck. Didnt seem to me they have enough restrooms for the volume of diners they get. I recall there used to be restrooms out the back somewhere but couldnt get outside as the doors were closed into the ouside area at the back. Foodwise, the hot bread you get is delicious but they dont give you enough butter and when its busy, its nearly impossible to get a waiters attention so we gave up on that. My starter was delicious (hummus) and a very large portion so glad we were sharing. My sister had a bowl of chilli which was also divine. My niece shared starters but had steak for dinner which should have been medium/well but was overcooked by a long shot! I had trout parmesan - delicious but very few potatoes (i counted 4) & green beans but I love the fish so no complaints. My sister had crabcake. She found it nice but overpriced for size. I asked who would order the same again - i was the only one.
Went with friends and had a great time! The service was great. We went with friends and did not feel rushed at all! We had happy hour appetizers. The oysters were delicious. The crab cake was easily one of the best I have ever had. All of the wait staff’s recommendations were excellent. I would definitely return. Definitely a must do!
Food was delicious. Staff were nonattentive but understandably so due to business. I’d imagine this be the norm though as this is such a popular destination.
As always, consistent & delicious. Oysters and shrimp are a must!
As always the Ebbitt made our day in DC with friends special. Oysters were the freshest you can find and presented exceptionally. Everyone considered their breakfasts to be great: corned beef hash; Chesapeake crab cake; and French toast entrees had every bit consumed.
We will be coming back! The food and drinks were amazing! Our server was so attentive, pleasant, personable, and professional. The entire experience made my trip to dc.
It was everything and more one wants in a dining experience! Staff, services, menu, drinks, and food was 5 star! I will recommend to anyone visiting the city!
Great for people traveling into DC for a tourist weekend.
Great service and great food. Was very busy, but couldn’t tell, with the waitstaff being on top of things.
