Loud enough where neighboring tables couldn’t hear my kids be kids. Delicious food for new vegans. Didn’t like a drink so server comped which was kind. 5 star!
Just too loud. It’s not as if the music was old standards and everyone stopped to sing along. It was gratuitously loud and unnoticed. Tone it down.
A beautiful old restaurant with a lot of history. The waiters were wonderful
Great food and service. Wonderful old time ambience, can almost see the ghosts of politicians past sitting at the tables. Don’t miss while in Washington.
Always our first stop, we would not miss brunch here. It’s loud but that’s part of the fun.
We were in a group of five people for a Sunday brunch before going to a show at National Theater. The brunch selection was excellent and food was delicious, particularly oyster stew, eggs Benedict with crab cakes, and a huge brioche. The restaurant was full but our table was ready almost immediately upon arrival. The dining room was quiet enough to hear conversation across the table easily.
Great! Historical, highly recommend making reservations, always packed.
Absolutely one of my favorites in DC! It has everything... ambiance, wonderful service and amazing food. Oysters are our favorite!!
I was there first early birthday brunch. I had shrimp and grits, I had to take shell off one of my shrimp which were slightly overcooked.
Our server Trey was good and on top of our table and took good care of us.
As an aside there was a 5 K run with many people coming in to eat with running gear still on. Sorry but the odor was strong. Not my best time at the Ebbitt.
Jumbo shrimp were overcooked and not very tasty. But all other food was good. Duroc pork chop, butter nut squash pasta and desserts were tasty.
Excellence all around...enjoy! We loved the food, service and ambiance.
It is our yearly Christmas tradition to go to the Old Ebbitt Grill with another couple. We have never gone any other place because everything is so perfect there. The decorations are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the wait staff has always been great. The gentleman we had this year was especially nice. I could not recommend it any higher!
Everything was great.
Wonderful! Food and drinks were excellent! Always love eating at Old Ebbitt!
Christmas concert pre-dinner
poorly run. lost reservation and hostesses were like 2 high school girls giggling away. decibel level was like standing behind running jet engine
Christmas dinner with my girls
Had reservations at Occidental after going to see the Nut Cracker at Warner theater. Perfect day.
It's a Washington Icon..........and the staff is SO NICE and accommodating. Will say the wine pours are pretty stingy, but the service outstanding, the decorations so festive and every one of the staff, over the top accommodating even when you ask for fried oysters and they are not on the menu ( although they should be) they make them.
The Old Ebbitt is just a great place.
Came for a Birthday celebration and loved gff bff experience.
Great place. The oysters were super
Always excellent! Brian, our waiter, is super! Best place for Oysters in DC.
Shared the crab and artichoke dip, scallops and clam chowder. It was all delicious and the service was great.
We love Old Ebbitt Grill, we have been going there for a number of years and it never disappoints. We especially love it at Christmas, we had a grilled salmon salad and crab cake sandwich.
Excellent service and staff. Outstanding, 5 star food presentation, quality and flavor. Excellent across the board.
Geräuschpegel mehr als laut. Für ein entspanntes Abendessen nicht zuträglich. Rechnung kam schon mit dem Dessert. Selbst für die USA nicht ok. Essen war mittelmäßig. Steak als Medium rare bestellt war Medium.
Great service, wonderful food! Oyster Happy Hour especially memorable!!
The best of DC!
Prior to the alighting of the National Christmas Tree, we had an awesome lunch at Old Ebbitt Grill. Never disappoints. We had the Navy Bean Soup, Oysters Rockefeller, Salmon Salad, and the Seared Scallops. Everything was delicious. I was glad I had reserved a table as they were quite crowded. Excellent service as well. Great place for a meal or special occasion. Great atmosphere.
Revisiting after 40 years and sharing with friends new to the area, things remain as comfortably elegant, familiar, and an event to cherish. Outstanding in all regards. Thank you.
Old Ebbitt Grill lived up to our expectations, and more. The raw oysters were the best that I've ever tasted. They were fresh and delicious. Both of our lunch salads were excellent. Our waiter didn't rush us through the meal, and he was very attentive. We will definitely go back on our next visit.
Good breakfast without being great. Nice atmosphere and great location though
Great location which means parking is very limited. Otherwise classy ambience, good service, delish food with value for money. Definitely recommended!
Note: a dinner for two will easily set you back a minimum of $100 without drinks.
Crab and artichoke dip was out of this world!
Cant wait to come back.
Food and service were both excellent - so noisy that it was challenging to have a conversation.
Great food and great service. Go there every time we are in Washington.
Great food and service as usual. Old Ebbitt is one of our "go to" places every time we're in DC
Great recommendation from friends, great piece of history and food
