We know it is no fun to wear a mask while enjoying a night out, but our staff's safety is no laughing matter.
We require all guests to wear a mask while moving about the restaurant, and when speaking to Clyde's employees.
Masks have been a hot topic, with passionate views on all sides. With our team and their families' health at stake, we must err on the side of caution. We hope you will understand and look forward to the day, hopefully soon, when we can all throw our masks in the trash.

Came here for stepdads bday and the host followed our reservation notes to a tee. Staff was great, friendly, and hospitable. Food was on point as always. I love coming here because every time is a great experience. One table was loud and a little rambunctious but they left before us since they were seated at the bar. Other customers were considerate of the other diners perfectly. The interior always takes my breath away.
Excellent Saturday early evening birthday dinner for my wife. Our server, Mike, was knowledgeable and courteous, anticipating our needs. Special shout-out to whoever chooses the music, as it was like they got their hands on my wife’s playlist. This was our first visit and won’t be our last!
I've been here twice before but never had the customer experience that I received today. The service was superior. Deborah was our hostess and she was timely, personable and on point. We also had the opportunity to meet the manager Yosef who displayed the same professionalism. I also like that we had the opportunity to sit in the newly renovated area. If you have a chance to visit this place, I definitely recommend it.
Great food and wonderful service.
My hanger steak was not chewable. I sent it back. The autumn salad was very good. There were 10 in the party. They were pleased.
We arrived on time and we’re seated right away. Out waitress showed up within minutes and water and bread where brought to the table and our drink orders were taken. There were six of us and two separate checks. Our appetizer was delivered and was hot and delicious. All of our food orders came out at the same time and all were hot and delicious.
I had to request water bottles to be replenished 3 times
Waiter had to be flagged down for just about every interaction though it didn’t seem as it was busy
our server seems frustrated by her position or had an off night. The food was sub par for the ratings this restaurant had. This again may have been an off night.
Delicious meal. Wonderful service.
Excellent food. Great staff. Loved the historic feel of the place. Wish they had a little history that you could read while at dinner.
Quick service, good food, fair prices
Very nice restaurant. Wish we could of sat in the front of the restaurant.
Delicious brunch, great service; thank you for all the additional COVID-19 precautions!
Delicious! Great brunch with a fun historic atmosphere
Went for brunch - eggs bennie, the Walter, and steak and eggs were all excellent. Hummus was tasty as well, and is made in house.
Restaurant promptly called us before reservation to inform us that they had decided to close due to the rally. Very professional and appreciated the heads up. Will try to dine here next time we’re in DC.
Just ok. Will not have the need to return. Food average and service below that.
Had fried oysters as per reviews and they were excellent!
So sorry I can’t remember our waiter because he was the best ever!
Old Ebbitt Grill is a “should not miss” in DC!!
Food was excellent. Swordfish and meatloaf recommended. Service was paltry. The employee tried to put us in a corner on tiny tables that looked like they normally used for dirty dishes. Plenty of the regular booths were open. Still a stain on our experience.
We had the best experience at Old Ebbitt Grill! I got nervous at first because the restaurant is so large but our food was all cooked to perfection. My son got the bacon-wrapped meatloaf and the sides were just as amazing as the main. The bread and butter was delicious. I got a salmon salad and the salmon was cooked exactly as specified and seasoned beautifully, not too salty and the salad dressing was house-made. The s’mores sundae was a must have. Very reasonable prices and excellent food, atmosphere and service! Our waiter, Fabian was personable, efficient and so kind. We could not have asked for better!
Great atmosphere, wonderful service. Menu offers lots of choices. As always food delicious! One of our favorite spots
Great Service and the Bacon Cheeseburger Was Exceptional
Went for a birthday celebration and we’re so used to a full, lively environment, but Covid has changed that. We really enjoyed our dinner. We had a great server and the ambiance was really nice.
Service was great and I really appreciate them letting us sit in the atrium even though we were the only table out there. I didn't feel mocked for my desire to not be inside the restaurant proper and service didn't suffer at all.
Thank you for making it possible for my friend and I to enjoy one of our favorite outings even during these difficult times.
Great meal at Old Ebbitt. Oysters were spectacular. Crab cakes were very good; the fries accompanying them were even better. Service was excellent. Covid protections were abundant and visible.
Oysters are FANTASTIC!!!!! They are a must have!!!!
Food was exceptional. Service equally impressive. A memorable evening for sure!
Always a great experience! So glad to see the restaurant open again!!!
Came here for lunch while visiting DC. Our waitress was really great and friendly. The food was quick and delicious. It’s nice that both food and service are consistently good, which is why I always stop in when I’m in town.
Crab cakes are excellent, one of the best we've ever had. Service was wonderful, wait staff checked on us regularly, & kept our water glasses full.
The food is consistently good, and the service is superior. Im a regular. (Great for business breakfasts, as well.)
Enjoyed everything, the food was great and the staff was attentive and friendly as usual.
Ronnie, our server, was very attentive, friendly and good. The experience was very good as typical.
Whenever we are in DC, we always make a stop at Old Bbitt Grill! It never disappoints. Fabulous atmosphere, service and food every single time!
Loved the location and the food. Service was great.
This was our first opportunity to eat at the Old Ebbitt since DC began reopening and our first opportunity to eat in the recently renovated atrium. It's a wonderful space. The food is always outstanding.
Amazing food and customer service! We were so excited to come and dine at the restaurant after not being able to due to covid. The employees were so friendly and shout out to Ronnie C for being so hospitable!
The oysters were excellent, the service was great, and there is plenty of space inside the restaurant for social distancing. There was at least one empty booth on either side of us!
