Good food and service. Wonderful atmosphere!
Our waiter Justin was outstanding. The table was one of the few where we could sit in a corner and look out at everything. It was perfect.
Hadn’t been in several years. Seems to have suffered the fate of all Once unique things. Great waiter. But everything else like a conveyor belt.
One of the hostesses, a brunette; was rude and disrespectful. When she began to raise her voice, a colleague of hers, who was blonde with curly hair, stepped in and seated us right away.
Fantastic service. Fantastic food. Server had wonderful recommendations.
Whenever something came up and we needed it, the servers were quick to respond and fulfill our requests.
We had a reservation booked a month in advance. We were seated at a card table near the end of the back bar. Due to the small space (since it clearly wasn’t a regular table), the wait staff kept bumping into my chair all night. Terrible
We had a wonderful server who was quite attentive in spite of the number of tables she had. The food was great and she worked with the kitchen to accommodate my desire for a vegetarian pasta.
Seeing family and Valentines date 2020 with 2 beautiful women in my life
Great food enjoyed the oysters, crab cakes and manhattans!!
Dined on a Thursday night that was crazy busy and they still can provide the best food and service anywhere. The pricing is reasonable and we found everything done with care and the finest ingredients. I had the oysters Rockefeller - the best I can remember. My wife asked for steamed clams and although they are not on the menu - they delivered a dozen tender ones. My filet was perfect and my wife enjoyed her scallops. Yes, we are from the old school but it is a pleasure to have excellent american fare provided in comfortable surroundings and with attentive and efficient service.
We've been to the grill many times for both lunch and dinner. Always have a great time. Very vibrant (and noisy) atmosphere, excellent service from all the staff, and good basic food. They crab cakes are among the best. My filet was perfectly cooked. And, they have an excellent wine list, both by the glass and bottle with a good price range.
Wonderful date-night dinner for my wife and I before going to the National Theatre, around the corner. Bustling, busy restaurant: very full, with tables refilled as soon a party left. Food was generally excellent and tasty. I ordered my salmon done rare and it came out at least medium, but the meal was still great. My wife had the broiled scallops and they were prepared superbly. Waiter was friendly and perhaps a little too chummy - but both his food and his wine recommendations were spot on. Great restaurant for the "eating out in DC experience," but don't go here if you're looking for a quiet, private evening. Every table was full the whole time we were there. We will go back again!
Had to accept a 4:45pm reservation when 6:30pm was requested. Was given lunch menu which had a much narrower selection, particularly of seafood which is why we went there to eat. On the plus side, we were there at the right time for happy hour for mussels, oysters and shrimp. Overall experience was good. The ambience was great the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. Would go again.
Staff were professional. Very attentive to the customers request.
Birthday celebration. We started with the Farmhouse cheese sampler! Very tasty! Then we split a market salad which was perfect size. My husband had the Atlantic pan seared Salmon for his entree. It came with lentils & sauté spinach. I had my favorite, Trout Parmesan with hollandaise sauce. Always delicious! It came with garlic red potato & green beans.
Our waiter, Ryan gave us great service. He was attentive making sure our glasses were never empty. We totally enjoyed our meal at Old Ebbitt Grill.
Excellent food and service, upbeat ambiance. Great for lunch. Good value.
We live in Florida but have family in the area so we try to make it to Ebbitt Grill as often as we can. We love happy hour and the oysters. Amazing!!
Old Ebitt Grill is consistently good. The French dip is great as is the service. I love the old-school green booths.
Outstanding Service! The food is incredible! I always enjoy OEG!
Oysters and calamari were great...crab claws and shrimp were ok. The atmosphere is fantastic.
Great place to meet and enjoy an outstanding meal.
The service was so bad. The server didn’t care about our table, but busy enough to talk about her personal issues with the colleagues
My whole family was satisfied with their meals. The oysters were good and the pork chop was amazing. The service and ambiance was second to none. My only very minor complaint was that my old fashioned tasted off.
We did make reservations for 5 for 2. We arrived a little early and were promptly seated in a small table for 2 right in the middle
of many other tables with only about 18 inches in between the tables. This was a little too close for me so I asked the hostess to be moved. She refused. I pressed her to move us but she still refused. Her unwillingness to work with us flavored the entire evening. If all tables were occupied I would have understood, but that was not the case. The couple that was seated next to us, shortly after us, requested to move...the hostess had no problem finding them a new table.
Food was very good. No complaints there! Our bill with tip was $100 ...no alcohol.
The noise level was high; difficult to carry on conversation.
I will most likely visit again but will INSIST on a table that works for me. It’s too expensive not to be satisfied with your table.
Went for the happy hour oysters! Best deal in town for exceptional oysters.
Our meal at Old Ebbitt was great! Not cheap, but the half price oysters at happy hour made the bill reasonable. The food, service and atmosphere was top notch and you can see why this place is so popular!
Happy hour Oysters are super
Old Ebbitt was very accommodating when our 5th person showed up after we assumed she was not coming. Table was cleared away timely. I understand some in my party were rude. I would like to Adrienne M. Lastly, Adrienne needs to project her voice, it was very noisy in there.
Thanks so much for the great time!!!!!
The calamari was overcooked; the oyster stew as cold and the crab cake was a big disappointment; mostly bread and very little crab; sometime major has changed.
Our server was outstanding and the manager spectacular; Food poor!!!!
Scrumptious food and excellent service!
Eggs Chesapeake and Eggs and Oysters and Oyster Happy Hour-Oh My! Love the Grant Bar. Our experience was outstanding in every aspect.
We were very happy we had reservations, the restaurant was full and hopping. The food was perfectly prepared and timed. We had the oysters to start and also had the salmon and scallops, all were heavenly.
Great Food, Great Service! It was a fun place to eat while visiting DC
We were really impressed with everything. Our meals were superb and the service was outstanding. The ambiance was special and we really enjoyed our dinner. The oyster happy hour is really a great deal!
Birthday dinner. Orca platter was awesome! Half price after 12
It’s a dark, tavern like place. The tables are too close together, the couple sitting next to us was tipsy and whenever the girl stood up to go to the bathroom she’d brush her derrière on our plate. It put me off my food. That’s how close the tables are. Whenever the person next to me asked for the waiter, the person inevitably shouted in my ear, that’s how close the tables were. The waiter was great, the food really tasty. Very reasonably priced and a short walk from other fun places.
You can always count on old ebbitt for a great meal!!
We had breakfast. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, and it was fantastic! Everyone at the table enjoyed there food.
