Great history! Great crab cakes!
Although the service was not on par (had to ask the hostess for water, no spoon to stir coffee, had to get up & find a knife) the ambiance is always the best. Brunch menu very good.
Great service and delicious food! Will definitely return when we show friends and family around DC next time.
Old Ebbitt Grill is the best restaurant I have been to!!! Everything from the appetizers to the desserts are fantastic. The quality ingredients that are expertly cooked is such a joy to experience. I appreciate the conscious choice to make items in house like their fresh pasta. Homemade makes the difference!! I make a point to stop there whenever I am in DC. You haven’t eaten until you eat at Old Ebbitt Grill.
Wonderful food and ambiance. Great deal for restaurant week too!
Old Ebbitt Grill has always been a favorite of ours. Whenever we eat there, we always walk away saying how delicious everything was. We usually go here for dinner, but today was the first time we went for brunch. The french toast was sweet and savory! The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was delightful. We loved it!
Ronnie was a great server! Food was amazing! Brunch including key lime pie was wonderful.
It was a Great time! We always enjoy our time at Old Ebbitt
My boyfriend and I both loved Old Ebbitt Grill! I had the blue catfish and my boyfriend had the trout! They were both very delicious dishes!! Our waitress was very kind as well!! All types of dress attire is welcomed!(:
Very attentive service, nice ambiance and the food was incredible. Made for a very nice date night.
Food was great, insanely busy. Friday night during restaurant week. Servers were slammed all night.
Amazing! Favorite restaurant in DC.
We had calamari for appetizers and they were crispy and really good. The kids loved them. My hubby abs I shared half s dozen oysters and try were fresh and a good size. We had the meatloaf, crab cakes, and chicken. Al dishes were excellent. My daughter did not care for the Swiss chard on her meatloaf as it was more bitter than spinach but the rest of the meal was excellent. The crab cakes were great and not overbreaded. Dessert was creams brûlée and peanut butter pie. The pie was a hit with everyone.
Always a stop while in DC! Best experience, best food, best service!
Went to Old Ebbitt Grill for lunch on a family vacation to DC. Food was great and flavorful. Portions were standard size, apps are recommended if your hungry. Only critique is their beer menu is on the lighter side (I.e. not many selections and primarily light beers).
Great American food with a diverse menu
Been going to the Old Ebbitt Grill for years. It is a Washington institution and Washington is lucky to have such a great restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, and next to the White House.
Service was great and the food was even better!
One of the most ancient steakhouse in Washington, very beautiful! The food is good and the service very professional
We try to make Old Ebbitt every trip to DC. It's always a great experience
I'll be back in Feb.
We each ordered something different and tried each others courses. Everything was excellent! The service was outstanding. I highly recommend Old Ebbitt Grill.
Food , service, the ambience.... no surprises the old ebbitt grill is an Icon, and they live up to it every time I go there.
It was ok. We were so excited to try it out as it was our first time but it wasn’t anything that exciting about it. It was also a bit pricey for certain items that we would normally get elsewhere.
Dinner was delicious
We had a fun, overall enjoyable evening this week at Old Ebbitt Grill. The food was delicious; well presented & prepared. I would absolutely go back just for the dessert Peanut Butter Pie. It was terrific. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. It was very crowded and quite loud to the point conversation at the table was a bit hard. But we managed. I would definitely recommend it and I would go back for sure.
Noise level at dinner is terrible -had to shout across table for two. Try lunch or breakfast.
Happened to be there for restaurant week. Had 3 course meal with beverage for $35. Can't beat that. Food very good as usual.
Superb. All 5 in our party ordered different starters, entrees and desserts. All outstanding.
We ordered 2 Hamburgers, they can with the wrong cheese & on the wrong cooked burger
Make sure you book a table! We had a reservation but still had to wait for 10+ minutes as the place was packed on Wednesday afternoon. Overall the hosts left an awkward impression - it took them some time to acknowledge our presence before we were asked to wait for "few' minutes - they were in the midst of a conversation and not really facing arriving guests.
The waiter did do a great job and the food was good too.
The food is terrific. The service is also very good. It is a bit crowded in the seating but it is worth every dime. I love this place.
We loved the entire restaurant! It was huge but you would never have known from how it is broken up into smaller rooms. Intimate with ambiance, food was great and the service was outstanding!
Love the crab cakes here! Came back the next day for another round before leaving the city!
Some of my favorites were not on the menu-but there’s always something delicious to find.
Perfect place for a supper and amazing crab cakes!
Lovely restaurant in a great area. Though I could do without being harassed for money the second you walk out the door. Everything was fine. However, the man who seated us lacked the personality befitting a greeter.
Excellent restaurant for our family; cocktails, appetizers, meals & desserts were served quickly & everything was delicious. Service was professional and perfectly timed. Loved the historical presence of the saloon while touring DC.
Get the ribs! Great service and atmosphere! Good catfish.
Always one of our "must do's" when we visit WDC! It is an old favorite!
