This is the 2nd time I have eaten at this restaurant and both times have been a wonderful experience. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, the ambience is lovely and the waitstaff is the BEST!!!
Food and service was awesome. Will definitely come back
Was seated for 30 minutes before we had to flag someone to wait on us. Totally out of any salad on a Saturday night but plenty of instant mashed potatoes. The restaurant was so cold that you could of hanged meat in it and in the end the server tried to over charge us with extra drinks. What happened to this restaurant, new owners?
Food, pace and quality of service were all top notch. Very professional and well trained staff
My husband and I had dinner there this past week. We heard great things about it and decided to give it a try. The food, service, and atmosphere were top notch! Our server Diana took great care of us. We dined in the garden patio and it was beautiful and romantic. The entire meal was incredible, delicious, and so unique. The cheese platter was scrumptious! We cannot wait to go back when we head down next month.
Normally I would write a rave review for this restaurant but two things happened on Friday night. We had a group of 8. Drinks, bottles of wine, appetizers, entrees, dessert. The most expensive entree on the menu is $36/$38. Two people ordered the flounder/ lump crab special and it was delicious. When the bills came the charge was $48...quite a surprise...$10 more than the most expensive items on the menu...not sea bass but flounder. I suppose we should have asked the price but who would have guessed that! The waitress should have told us the price since it was so out of line with the menu. Plus, she “forgot” to mention that the tip was included on the bill. We are a big tipping group but there is a limit to our patience. It’s not that these two instances put us in the “poor house” but they did put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable evening...we didn’t leave smiling.
Nice atmosphere, good food, recommend their outdoor seating area
A wonderful restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. The crab soup was amazing. The bread with butter and garlic was a treat as were the main dishes. All were generously portioned and attractively presented. The mashed potatoes were smooth and silky and a total hit. Even the dessert was exceptionally good. Not a touristy place at all.
Loved the food and the ambiance outside, and the service! It was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The crème brûlée was the best we ever had!
Very good service and authentic southern feel
Excellent wahoo special. Rice was fabulous also. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great service we will definitely go back often.
All the entrees were delicious and our waiter superb!
Easter dinner. All meals were excellent and the waiter was very attentive.
The food I always incredible. The space is very small, intimate, and the service is wonderful.
Such a special place. Great food. Excellent service. Wonderful old world feeling. Will definitely return.
Wonderful restaurant!! Service was so great and super friendly, food was delicious. My husband and I had a wonderful evening!
This was our second time dining here. Overall we like this cozy restaurant in a historic building. The food was good and our waiter attentive. The restaurant was quite busy as it was Easter weekend. The busyness seemed to make service a bit slower than in the past. Overall we enjoyed our meal and dining experience.
As usual it was wonderful, service was amazing and the food delicious
Old City House was amazing. Friendly service and great food
Our favorite restaurant in the area for a wonderful dinner. Our only complaint is they should tell you the price of the specials. I was going have the crab cakes for $35. The special was snapper, a local fish, did not think about the cost, well it was $48. If I knew that up front, I would have ordered the crab cake. That is a bit much and unexpected for a local fish.
Food is excellent!! Best in St Augustine! For real. Fabulous outdoor patio with good SD space and beautiful lush greenery, fountain, and flowering trees. Service great, as well.
We went to the Old City House for my husbands birthday. It was a romantic garden dinner. The food and drinks were wonderful- we had a great time.
Great place, beautiful venue, and awesome food! Great for celebrations.
We sat in the garden, very pretty..... had the rack of lamb, quite good.
My boyfriend and I LOVE Old City House! We have been twice now and it is always better than the time before! The staff is so accomodating and friendly! Not to mention the exquisite food and a great selection of drinks! We will obviously be back again! This is our favorite restaurant in St. Augustine!
Excellent food. Great service
Old school. Comfortable. Can carry on a conversation without yelling across the table. Very good selection and excellent foods to choose from
Outstanding meal, food excellent, attractive presentation, food hot, service flawless.
Outdoor patio looked nice but it was raining so we ate inside. Could have been more socially distanced but it was ok. The escargot, beet salad and the rack of lamb were wonderful. The cioppino was very good but I would have enjoyed some linguini with it. We were too full for dessert.
Service was great. The kitchen was extremely slow. We were there for over 2 hours.
We are so happy we were able to dine at The City House restaurant. The food was fresh, delicious, and well prepared. We will return on our next trip to lovely St Augustine
My husband and I have enjoyed the Old City House for years. It consistently wonderful and delicious and is a must for us whenever we have an overnight visit in Saint Augustine.
We were looking for a restaurant with outdoor seating. So glad we chose Old City House because it offered so much more. Dining in the outdoor garden courtyard felt like we were transported to Spain.
Atmosphere on the patio was quaint and beautiful, away from the street and private. Service and menu options were wonderful. Have the food a 4 because it was great but I’ve had better. Overall superb experience and will definitely be back.
Excelent evening. The food was great, the waiter was very personable and knowledgeable, and dining outdoors in the pleasant "hidden" garden was a treat. Spacing was more than adequate in compliance with COVID guidelines and both the hostess and waiter were masked. My wife ordered the filet which was was a suprisingly large cut of beef cooked to her specifications . I ordered the fish special which was perfectly prepared and a generous size portion as well. The only "negative" was the music was too loud since I was seated next to a speaker. We look forward to returning the next time we are in St. Augustine.
