Old Burdick's at Wings West

It is very disappointing to make an open table "reservation" that includes 4 grandchildren only to be told on arrival, "I saw that come through, don't know why open table allowed were full." Needless to say I walked out and found another establishment who very kindly accepted our group and gave us GREAT service, Kuddos to Main Street Pub in Mattawan.

I reserved a table to watch my son play hockey, eat dinner and have drinks. A table was never reserved, they were short staffed- people waited an hour to have a drink order taken - the manager waited on us. And now we find out that come high school hockey season you guys are not reserving tables. That will lead us to go ahead and eat dinner somewhere else and just go straight into the rink.

Food was good, but not as elaborate as described. Menu implies more upscale (e.g., truffle cheddar fries) but those upscaled ingredients are just cheap knockoffs (I.e., cheddar powder). But still a good burger and fries. Also, kitchen was very slow. Took way too long for my burger to arrive, and another to-go order beside me took 20+ mins for a hot dog. Hopefully just an unusual anomaly since place wasn’t crowded with diners. Great beer selection and menu. Atmosphere was cool to watch live hockey while eating. Worth several visits to see if the minor issues are standard or one-offs.

Seldom saw wait person. Wasn’t that busy but maybe short help. Didn’t get first order of beers. A wait person came to our table twice with beer we didn’t order. Our bill had three beers we didn’t order. Got revised bill but still had a beer we didn’t order. Got it right third time.

We ordered 2 sharables and those were good.

Appreciate the great service during a busy night!

Great place to go for sports nuts or to watch your kids or grandkids play hockey. End a dinner and stay warm in the process.

The staff graciously and efficiently accommodated our large group. Plenty of food options even for our picky eaters.

Hockey game

Had reservations for dinner after we attened the K wings New Years Eve game. Upon entering we found the place dead. We seated ourselves. Our waitress was missing in action several times. Our drinks went dry and I witnessed another couple actually get their own menues and then he had to walk to the bar to get his drinks ordedWe went there for dinner after the New Years Eve game at K Wings.

Food and service were good. Atmosphere is great for watching a hockey game on the rink or one of the many tv screens!

Very accommodating. Had a group of 20 and they were very flexible and courteous. Had a great time!

Booked a reservation for our 1 year anniversary and asked to be seated somewhere secluded, was seated next to a large group of people so asked to be moved and waiter got a grouch attitude about it then was sat next to an even larger group of people and there was tons of other seating open. First steak ordered was almost raw, ordered it medium well, second steak had so much salt that couldn't eat it. Couldn't even hear my husband talking across from me so we just sat in silence. Expensive but food very good, and you get to watch hockey while you eat

We were there for Mother’s Day. Food was great; good portions and good choices. Service was wonderful. Server did such a good job remembering whose food was whose; kept up with drink refills and she was very friendly. We were all very happy with the food and service.

I’ve had the shrimp tacos numerous times, unfortunately this time they weren’t very good. Pretty much just lettuce and shrimp. Good place to go and chat with others over dinner when it isn’t so crammed.

It took over 20 minutes to get our first drink and well over an hour to get our food. I still have not received credit from open table for the reservation. Entire experience not acceptable.

This place is a great spot to catch a Red Wings game. My friend and I live by Chicago and Detroit, respectively, so we wanted a restaurant in Kalamazoo where we could meet (Kalamazoo is exactly halfway between us). I asked for some recommendations online and luckily someone recommended this restaurant. First off, it wasn't very far from the freeway so it was very easy to get to. We enjoyed great, friendly service. They also had a pretty diverse menu. There wasn't a bad seat for tv watching - multiple big tv's on every wall. We'll be meeting here again soon.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, not afraid to crack a few jokes about each other. Overall a great experience. Great place for lunch.

However, if you're curious about the "Butter Burger," skip it if you at all don't like bitter tasting foods, as it has a very distinct bitter aftertaste. Sweet potato fries were delicious.

this place was so bad. Arrived and was told they don't do reservations off this site. If you want to go, call to reserve. The ambiance was great but the food was so burnt and gross I would not recommend. Also it took over an hour to get food from when ordered, so if ya do go, give yourself lots of time.

They said they had no record of our reservation which we received confirmation for 7:30 and they were told that they would seat us but that they were closing in half an hour to which I answered why would they accept the reservation and showed them the confirmation. We did eat there, but had to order quickly so they could get it into the kitchen.

Everything was great! Aside from our service, the waitress was incredibly slow and only checked in on us (12 ppl) once ever 20-30 minutes.

I recently booked a reservation at Burdick’s Wings West for a late lunch/early dinner in hopes to avoid the Easter lunch crowd. So I booked my party of 7 for a 3 p.m. meal & received my confirmation email. I arrived on Sunday to find that Burdick’s WW location was closed. I was surprised that a restaurant who had taken my reservation wasn’t even open! So we had to scramble to find another restaurant that could seat 7 people during a busy holiday. I will not be booking a reservation for any of the Burdick’s locations through OpenTable in the future & doubt I will dine at any Burdick’s locations unless it is the only option. My suggestion is to call the restaurant directly because clearly they can’t keep their OpenTable information up to date

I enjoyed the casual atmosphere, good food and fair prices of this restaurant. We overlook the ice rink which was neat. It was a little loud but the server kindly turned down the sports TVs near our table so we could talk. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. I would go here again.

It was near our hotel and part of the recommended Old Burdick's group, so we didn't know what to expect. Small bar/grill overlooking a hockey rink so we could watch local hockey teams practice. About the right amount of noise from a sports bar - music and TVs going but we had no trouble talking to each other. THE TRUFFLE CHEESE FRIES WERE THE BEST FRIES I HAVE EVER TASTED!!!!! And the Dogfish Head Pale Ale (90) on tap was a find. A nice meal, moderately priced... Prompt friendly service.

Burdicks provided the best atmosphere we needed for our good bye party for our coworker. The staff was great !!

Well I was so happy with how this restaurant accommodated our group. Celebrating a. BACHOLRETTE party and needed to see a basketball game. They put us right on front of a huge TV and had our table ready.i will definitely dine at this location again! service was good, food was good and they made our night special.

We all really liked our meals...food was very good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive...she took good care of us. It's a great place for families...parents can enjoy a good meal and drinks, while the kids can have fun. It was a little noisy with kids running around, but we expected that it could be that way. Families need a good place to go, too! (Our party consisted of four adults, no children.) We would go again.

Our visit happened to be during the Michigan St v Michigan game, and needless to say it was loud! Overall, everyone was on best behaviour for having rivalry team fans in one place. We really enjoyed watching the hockey practice that took place after the game. The food was good however not everyone got what they ordered. To be fair, the check was deducted the meals we didn't get. I chose this place to take my parents to during their visit from Florida, but should have gone with the Cracker Barrel. This is probably a GREAT lunch spot and I would definately recommend it for such.
