Old Blinking Light Ratings and Reviews
We went on Valentine’s Day and were seated right away. My friend ordered a blended margarita and I ordered a jalapeño margarita with salt. They brought back a pink looking drink over ice and my drink without salt. Apparently they don’t have a way to make blended drinks but the waiter did offer to change it. I ordered the scallops and then was told they no longer had them. I switched to the green Chile fettuccine with blackened shrimp and my friend ordered the bacon wrapped buffalo meatloaf. She loved her meal, mine was fine. All in all I think the waitstaff needs to have better communication with the kitchen and bar and update diners on what isn’t available right away. It was a pretty expensive meal for just ok food. I probably won’t be going back.
Very loud, food was blah, waiter was annoyingly bothersome. He tried to take our plates and give us our bill 3 minutes after we got our food. Then came back twice in three minutes to get our card. He was obviously off and wanted to leave but it was only 730pm so come on. Food was average at best and expensive for what you get. Won't go back.
we LOVE obl!!!! Especially love Sergio, he is so kind and friendly. Makes it feel so comfortable to have such friendly servers and staff. LOVE a waitress that we always get, but don't know her name!
Bummer is that we've come twice in a row only to be disappointed that Breckenridge beer was out, otherwise love this place!!!
ALWAYS the BEST! The service, alone, is over-the-top. The staff is knowledgeable about their product. And, they are very welcoming and friendly. The cuisine is creative. Interesting nd innovative without being overpriced. All in all a special place to enjoy.
Really glad we made a reservation, as the place was packed! All of the food was absolutely amazing, great drink selection too. My boyfriend had the blackened shrimp tacos and I had the mac 'n cheese, both outstanding. Wait staff was very friendly. The ONLY "downfall" is that it did get pretty loud inside, but that's definitely NOT deal breaker...we WILL be going back to this establishment...highly recommend!
This was a favorite date night for me and my late husband. We also would bring our son for lunch. They have a nice variety. I love the blackened shrimp tacos! The salads and brick oven pizzas are also a hit. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order. My son and I still enjoy dining there.
Old Blinking Light is a neighborhood treasure. It’s a busy place, but service was good. I had a side of roasted Brussels sprout leaves, incredible! Awesome baked beats with goats cheese, sunflower seeds and balsamic. Sometimes it’s hard to find good meals that are vegetarian!
Made a reservation via the Open Table. We were seated as soon as we walked in. When my wife asked for a booth we were told it was reserved for four. We were given a nice table by the inside fireplace. However, about 15 minutes later we glanced at the booth we requested and only two gentlemen were seated and dining! Hmmm!
We are frequent customers at the Blinking Light and very glad that this establishment has regained its liquor license. "Welcome Back".
We ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer, and two main courses. As customary, from the service to the food all were excellent. We will continue to recommend.
New to the area. Went with family in town. OBL was highly recommended by friends who’ve been there several times. The apps (queso and chips, roasted beets) were good, but not really outstanding. No drinks as liquor license not current!?! My entree was Duck Tacos, which were mediocre and not really a great value at $14. Not much flavor. Wife had the enchiladas and they too were average at best. She left most on her plate. Another at our table had the Chicken with Green Chili pasta. It was a pile of mushy over cooked fettuccine in a flavorless goo. It was disgusting. When we sent it back, we could overhear the cooks in the kitchen daring each other to taste it. One did and he said “That’s Gross, who cooked this!” Loud enough for us to hear. Our poor waitperson was very good but was almost embarrassed to ask us how our food tasted. She did not seem surprised by our response. They did deduct the pasta from our bill, but it is not really a great end to an evening stopping at a fast food place to feed the person who went hungry.
Probably not giving it a second chance, which is a bummer as we live walking distance away.
I love The Old Blinking Light and take guests there often. The cuisine is creative, with veggie and gluten-free options. The booths are big--nice and roomy! Good service, reasonable prices, great atmosphere! They do have outdoor dining, but I have not experienced that.
OBL asked what the occasion was before we showed up and I told them the only thing we preferred was a small spot for two people as private as possible. They put us at the largest table in the restaurant that seated about 12 or so. Other than that is was a good place to dine.
