Join us at Olamaie for a Valentines Day Celebration! We will be offering a Pre-Fix dinner for tonight only with some extra items off menu available for purchase for an added experience! We understand that life happens and we would love to have you dine with us. Please be aware that any cancellations within a 48 hour of period of your reservation will be subject to a $50 per person partial penalty for said reservation. Any cancellations the day of your reservations will be subject to a $100 per person partial penalty for said reservation. Payment will be due at the conclusion of dinner. Last week I had a layover in Austin and made reservations at Olamaie. I assume with OpenTable restaurants have the option to message guests if they are closed for an emergency OR to just turn their OpenTable reservations off. I also assume this can be done remotely. I Ubered from my hotel ($20) to the closed restaurant. Then Ubered to another restaurant where I was able to have dinner. It’s definitely okay to not open if you’re uncomfortable driving in the weather, or if you’re having staffing or power issues due to weather. It’s not okay to leave your reservations on/open and not notify guests.

The 20% additional charge for staff insurance etc was unexpected and they want to tip on total including the surcharge. So charge is good + 40 %. Excessive!

Olaemaie had very creative dishes that I was pleasantly surprised by. Portions were all very good size. The biscuits are to die for because it comes with this honey butter spread that’s the perfect ratio of sweet and savory. The beef tartare was also well done and every bite had a lot of umami. My only complaints for the food is the uneven seasoning/salting for the main entrees. Their duck breasts were cooked perfectly juicy, so it was unfortunate that they unevenly seasoned the dish. The first piece I tried the duck was so incredibly salty that I grimaced. I tried another piece towards the other end of the plate and that was seasoned well. The accompanying side for that duck dish was also too salty in my opinion. For our day boat fish, it was red snapper and it was cooked pretty well. There’s a sort of risotto underneath the fish that honestly stole the show. Reminded me of congee. I don’t usually complain about salt levels, but this dinner left me having to drink frequently to balance the sodium intake. Lastly, this dinner was a graduation celebration and service was straightforward. The dishes were delivered and the table would be cleaned during each transition. We, however, did not get checked up on at all through the dinner service. That’s why I just ate around the salty pieces of duck.

we were seated at the bar and we were early. Loved chatting with the bartender but I was not sure why we could not have been seated inside- there was not much crowd right as they opened. Drinks, cabbage, beef belly and cheese grits were superb. The fish was good but the lamb was lacking. Biggest issue is it is expensive AND they add the surcharge for employees. I don't mind the surcharge but i am always confused on how to tip. Is the surcharge the tip? Or in addition to the tip.

We're not quite "regulars" but we've been a bunch. I know it's happening everywhere and I didn't confirm, but it felt like prices went up on familiar menu items. On the whole, good (not great) meal, solid service, enjoyable bday dinner for my wife.

The ambiance was nice — the converted home was very cute. The appetizers were a treat. And then everything else was horrible. The entrees were disgusting; we got the shrip and rice and the duck. The rice was literally mush, pooling with oil, absolutely horrible. The duck was full of gristle and chewy; gross. And the server was cold and uninviting. Altogether our meal was a huge let down for the $300 price tag.

As usual, Olamaie has very creative dishes that are visually stunning and delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. It was our anniversary, so they started us with a complimentary glass of champagne. The expresso martini at the end was to die for.

I made a reservation at Olamie for my wife's birthday. They kept in contact via text assuring the reservation was valid. Our server, Eric, was just incredible. He made the experience memorable. The food was really well cooked. I am so impressed when a restaurant makes a great dining experience non pretentious. This place lives up to its reputation. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Biscuits r incredible. Cabbage really good. Beef belly and tartare super good! The whipped potatoes are so incredibly good. It was a lovely experience! U will not b disappointed!

I went for a much needed date nights with my husband. I don’t think I have ever been compelled to right a review but I had an exceptional experience. The food and service were amazing. The ambience was so romantic. We went at 5:15 and the restaurant was quiet and calm and felt that the servers gave us exactly the right amount of attention. Just the best!

The restaurant was very nice and the food was good overall. The only disappointment we had was that my wife sent her pork back because it was so salty. What was bothersome is that they didn’t even offer to get a different plate and said sorry and left it at that.

I googled a place to go in this Austin’s area, and Olamaie, came up. We have never heard of this restaurant. This place was amazing. The entire experience was exactly what we were looking for. From the very moment we opened the front door, the staff was friendly, the bar was perfect and the restaurant atmosphere was beautiful. The food was AMAZING! I mean, every dish, we ordered didn’t disappoint. We will definitely be going back. We love more boutique restaurants and this place was really special. Love all the charm Olamaie provides.

The food was not only elegant in appearance but absolutely delicious. Our waiter was knowledgeable, engaged and very responsive. The front end staff was welcoming and accommodating. I can't wait to go back.
