Okeechobee Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Long time local, smaller, and more inviting steak house that continues to get better if that is possible. No vegans should visit, nor those that have hearing issues after 8:00. Ruth Chris and all other chains modeled themselves after this place and it still outshines them. I'm a long time ago resident who gets down from time to time, and live in the world of Chicago steakhouses now.
Porterhouse shared for two while not cooked to perfection tasted incredible so when the waiter offered to redo the steak we said Nooo.
Truly a great porterhouse, full of flavor and will definitely re-order same when we return.
Service was great. Manager very gracious and apologetic and comped dessert.
New batter on fried onion rings was lighter than previous recipe but super crisp and tasty.
We had a great meal at a Great steak house.
I like the fact that you get a free stripe steak on your birthday but it was terrible. Taste more like a sirloin steak and it wasn't 8 oz. I had better stripe steaks at financial seminars that were 8 oz. My wife's lobster was excellent but the lobster tails were two small for $51.00. Even though they give a free birthday steak it is just not worth it. Won't be going back. This is my personal opinion.
This place never fails to disappoint. How many restaurants have the actual steaks on plates to see and have explained to you? Since 1947 and they were busy if not packed on a Monday night out of season. Besides the EXACT cook on our steaks, the Malbec they have on the menu was just perfect (a bit expensive but perfect). That pretty much says it all.
3 dinners were fine! Mine was uneatable - filet was gray, stringy and very strange looking - like the end piece which should not have been served. It was also very overcooked. They offered to bring a new one but no one wants to eat alone - shared the others. First time I've been disappointed.
Went to celebrate belated birthday, Mine. Friend took me but I have eater here before. Portions are large, good selection of steaks and other food. The escargot was delicious and would recommend it if you like snails.. Both of had the rib eye as the other steaks were too big. Love the large baked potato and the house salad is tasty. Dessert looked good but no room for dessert
Everything was Fabulous! It was my Birthday & everything & everyone was perfect. I think our waiter's name was Bill? He was great! Very attentive & accommodating. On the Open Table website, there were No available reservations. One of the Managers (can't recall his name) at Okeechobee Steakhouse assisted me in opening up a slot so I could get the Points/Credit for my visit. Kudos once again for this Fine Great Restaurant!
Great service. Great burger. Pricey but good quality food. Waitress did not inform us that they charge $2 for crumbled bacon and $1.50 for shredded cheese to put on baked potato. We were not told there was an extra charge for anything other then butter and sour cream. Will know to say no next time.
Okeechobee Steakhouse has great steaks & the service is impeccable. If you go the day of your birthday they will even give you a free 8oz NY strip or $29.99 towards the purchase of a different meal. You MUST have your driver's license to verify the actual day of your birthday is that day.
Food was good, but should be at these prices. Escargot could have used more garlic in the sauce and should have been served with bread. Meat was excellent cut. Service was decent, no one poured our wine after the first glass. Again, the restaurant is expensive so I expected better service.
I have been coming here for the past 22 years, never had a bad meal, until this past time.I had invited four very good friends for dinner.
I had ordered NY Strip steak, I had to return the first one because the meat was TOUGH. The server very graciously accepted this and then returned with the second steak, rare , as I ordered it, but again it was tough (not the quality that I was accustomed to at The Okeechobee Steak House) My guests all seemed very pleased with their food. Apparently the quality of the New
York Strip was not up to the fine standards that you've maintained over the years. I didn't complain after the second steak because I couldn't cast a pall over such a great evening.
Please excuse the grumbling, I had never written a letter like this. The service, ambiance and attention were as usual, excellent.

Excellent food served by a friendly and efficient staff in a pleasant old steakhouse atmosphere. The quality of the food was outstanding and prepared to perfection. The servings were more than amble. You need to be very hungry to survive the meal.
