Okeechobee Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Never a bad meal. Food is always excellent. Staff is phenomenal, very attentive. Perfect place for special occasions...they go above and beyond to make everyone feel like a VIP. Would highly recommend and look forward to going back again soon. 5 star food and service.
We love this place, but this time was not so good. We were very disappointed. The table next to us was dropping the F-bomb over and over which wasn't too fun. Our waitress disappeared for awhile. We've never had this kind of experience here before. It's usually above and beyond - one of our favorite places. Hoping it was just an off night, not the new norm.
The service was outstanding however my steak..the bone in ribeye..which was recommended by our waiter because he said that it had the most flavor...tasted very bland. I expected the steak to be rich in flavor...but it tasted like it had little or no seasoning on it. It did not melt in my mouth like I expected.
The food, specifically the steak, is to die for here. I got the filet mignon with marrow butter and the meat had excellent flavor. My husband got the Delmonico cut. He enjoyed his steak and the way they prepared it. We got two sides, creamed corn and button mushrooms, and both were delicious. The steakhouse unfortunately lost two stars due to their service. We each received salads with our meals and immediately after finishing our salads they brought us our main dish. We had no time to digest the salad. We were given about ten to twelve minutes to eat our main. Our server then approached us and asked us if we needed boxes. I had finished my meal and agreed, but my husband was still eating half of his meal and had a whole drink to finish. The server came to our table and bagged our food there, dropped a plate on my feet with mashed potatoes, and bagged my husband's food that he was still trying to eat. We felt rushed and were disappointed with that service at such a highly lauded restaurant. We made our reservation at 5:30pm to avoid feeling rushed during the restaurant's busy hours. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations or the expectations that should be met when you pay $100 per head. We were in and out of the restaurant in one hour. We look forward to returning to Ruth's Chris and trying III Forks.
I hate to give a bad review but I was so disappointed in my meal. The others at our lunch enjoyed their meals but not me. I had th snapper special and it was literally mush. I've never had a fish with that poor texture and it was tasteless I should have stuck with the beef. We also were never r offered bread with the meal. Anyway I will be back for steak.
The general service is very poor and the prices are over rated.
The waiter starts by "shooting" by telling us briefly restaurant's history, speaking very quickly. He seems obliged to speak that history. without any affection or interest.
At any time he asked us about what are we looking for dinning; he only brought a tray full osf different vortes of meat and already indicating what was the suggestion of sauce.
We gave up ! We stayed at the restaurant due my soon hungry!
When serving the wine , he almost finished a whole bottle with only three glasses.
It is not a place I would be back.
Parking lot to restaurant is a maze to get into restaurant.Ambiance was old, dark & dreary.Felt like we were in an assembly line trying to get us in and out. Requested a booth, told we could not have one and there were plenty available which were still available when we left. They gave us an awkward booth in which I felt I was two tables from my significant other.Made reservation a month in advance mind you.Waiter came over and asked us if we knew what we wanted for dinner. Never even ordered a drink Told him we would prefer to order a drink first..After drinks were served, within minutes he came over again and asked what we wanted for dinner. We ordered and received our salads. We requested bread, which the waiter seemed quite annoyed we asked for this. We received our meals, which were the exact same meal ordered, mine was fine, my girlfriends was overcooked. By the way, the booths that were available when we walked in were still available. Now the waiter is nowhere to be found. We asked someone else to get the waiter. Complained about the under cooked steak and the waiter got the manager. Manager was pushing the envelope for my girlfriend to have another steak cooked and she did not want this because I was almost done eating and she did not want to stay there, but he kept insisting. My girlfriend finally gave in, the next steak came out under cooked. She placed it aside and we waited for someone to come over. In the meantime, my girlfriend spotted the manager talking to one of the bus boys and low and behold, the bus boy came over and asked if he could remove the dishes from our table. (mind you, a whole steak sitting there) We said, NO! Two seconds later, another bus boy came over and asked the same thing. We asked to speak with the manager. The manager at this time came over and took the steak off the bill, but the experience was one never to forget. Would never recommend anyone to visit this restaurant.
Long time local, smaller, and more inviting steak house that continues to get better if that is possible. No vegans should visit, nor those that have hearing issues after 8:00. Ruth Chris and all other chains modeled themselves after this place and it still outshines them. I'm a long time ago resident who gets down from time to time, and live in the world of Chicago steakhouses now.
Porterhouse shared for two while not cooked to perfection tasted incredible so when the waiter offered to redo the steak we said Nooo.
Truly a great porterhouse, full of flavor and will definitely re-order same when we return.
Service was great. Manager very gracious and apologetic and comped dessert.
New batter on fried onion rings was lighter than previous recipe but super crisp and tasty.
We had a great meal at a Great steak house.
I like the fact that you get a free stripe steak on your birthday but it was terrible. Taste more like a sirloin steak and it wasn't 8 oz. I had better stripe steaks at financial seminars that were 8 oz. My wife's lobster was excellent but the lobster tails were two small for $51.00. Even though they give a free birthday steak it is just not worth it. Won't be going back. This is my personal opinion.
This place never fails to disappoint. How many restaurants have the actual steaks on plates to see and have explained to you? Since 1947 and they were busy if not packed on a Monday night out of season. Besides the EXACT cook on our steaks, the Malbec they have on the menu was just perfect (a bit expensive but perfect). That pretty much says it all.
