   The best sushi ive had in the city. The owner is an absolute gem. The quality is amazing, the staff is friendly and the experience was to die for. Recommend to sit at the chef's table. We were able to do the omakase there and i was not disappointed. Ive spent well over $250 a person for Omakase before and it was not as good as what we had at Okane. The prices are reasonable and well worth it for the quality of what you get

   When the restaurant just opened, we tried sushi which was just okay & we didn't return for a long time. So, this time we tried non-sushi items: Oysters (2 pcs) with ponzu sauce & a small tobiko topping were tasty enough but very, very small for $12; Karaage was light & nicely seasoned but spicy mayo didn't go well with it; Agedashi Tofu was under-seasoned & tasted better with a tiny addition of soy sauce; and Hamachi Kama was meaty & juicy & not too salty. The sake selection is good but all bottles are over-priced by $20-$30. The server was personable & pleasant but was not always looking around broadly, i.e., it took some effort to get her attention. The interior was a mishmash with a pine wood wall on one side looking like a cabin & a large pair of contemporary paintings on another wall looking a bit cheesy & gaudy. I liked the Japanese masks on the wall. Generally speaking, the interior seemed a bit off to a native Japanese but who cares, right?. This restaurant is perfectly suitable for most people, but if you want something very authentic, you may want to seek another establishment..

   Waitress disappeared for 20 min after seating..I had to get up and speak with chef to get someone to take our order

   Waitress seemed to ignore us on multiple occasions and very difficult to get her to come to us. Had to wait 10 mins for check to be picked up despite multiple attempts to get their attention.

   I actually thought we were going to be doing the Omakase. It it all worked out. Food etc excellent

    Okane is a good spot. The Chef is knowledgeable and the food delicious. Okane is a much better value that other Omakase spots including Omakase (same owner) which is also very good but requires a second mortgage to dine like other well known sushi spots like Ju-Ni, Kusakabe, Akikos and so on. Our bill for two Chef's omakase + sake was $440 ($220/per person). My dream is that one day the folks from Kazu-Nori and Sugarfish come to SF so there's a super high quality and reasonably price option in our market. Overall, Okane delivers and I will return.
