Grilled Miso Black Cod
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. The wagyu burger with foie gras is exceptional.
We had a wonderful experience! Oishii staff and chef went beyond the service and hospitality! My friend who we came to celebrate her birthday at Oishii Boston said it was the best birthday food celebration she ever had. The food was phenomenal, and the presentation was exquisite.
We will be recommending Oishii Boston to anyone who has not tried it yet to come and test their taste buds for Japanese food. We will come back again. We had the Omakase set, and it was the best experience we had to date.
The food is absolutely divine, it was my friends first time and she can see why i talked about coming back so much!
おいしい The food was delicious! Especially the salmon tempura roll. It was so creamy and smooth. The wagyu toquitos were juicy and flavorful. We have been to Tokyo 3 times and this restaurant brought us back. Great service and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Everything was perfect, however waiting time between palates is a little bit long. Except that I can not say how the retaurant is so perfect. Never imagine I can have such a nice Omakase in the USA.
The kitchen forgot 2/5 rolls we ordered. Thai resulted in eating almost separately as the rolls came out with such a large gap between. They should really have offered to take at least one off the check. Disappointing.
Probably the worst omakase I have ever had. The lobster was served completely raw. Biggest waste of my time and money, could not be more disappointed.
Oishii remains a good option for a sushi in the city, however have found it’s not as consistently great as it once was. The menu items were hit or miss. What we liked … For the Love of Salmon, the Maguro & wild king salmon sashimi all were fresh, light & elegantly presented. The Wagyu Beef Taquitos had very nice depth & flavor and a good size portion for two to share. What we didn’t like … the Tartare Tower was extremely spicy to the point it left my mouth on fire & an inability to taste the tuna. The tuna tartare mixture contained something of a crispy nature which I found detracted the focus from the tuna. Lastly the Hamachi Tango had good potential due to the flavor combination, however the quality of the hamachi was poor & overly firm. A piece of scale was also left in one of the cuts which was simply poor preparation. The service was attentive & welcoming as always.
Perfect for a date night!
Service was lacking.
Some interesting combinations for the omakase. Some flavors overpowered the flavor of the fish, and some sauces were salty. Presentations were beautiful though and some dishes were unexpected and delightful.
The butter poached lobster was excellent. A5 Wagyu was also excellent.
Desserts were interesting. Frozen coconut milk sphere was best. Needed more yuzu shave ice but otherwise very unique and refreshing for dessert. Red bean creme brûlée and red bean ice cream were okay, but not impressive. Melon shave ice in the shape of a slice of melon was underwhelming. No flavor.
Sushi rice for nigiri was not good, dry, overly compact, and lacked flavor. Sad that the rice was not executed properly.
Awesome Japanese Wagyu and Salmon on fire. Great spaghetti but the Foie Gras sushi was too heavy
Food was good but highly overpriced.
An excellent, near perfect meal to celebrate a 45th anniversary. Quiet, romantic, respectful and helpful service. We shared the crispy pork belly appetizer-- this was plenty for sharing! We trusted "chef's choice" for the 15 item sushi and sashimi selection, and this also came well presented, delicious, and plentiful (five nigiri, ten generous sashimi selections). Finally, the Toro Truffle maki was an over-the-top celebration of Oishii creativity and umami. Best meal since before everything went on hold in March 2020.
Excellent appetizer but sashimi serving temperature was cold
I always have a great time here with family and friends. The food, service, vibes and everything is superb. Always a great time. Food is always delicious and on point at the restaurant.
I did do two take out yesterday for squid ink pasta and uni pasta it wasnt same as dining in restaurant. Felt the sauce was not blended enough.
2nd visit as good as the first. Ume martini to start. Salmon on fire, fun presentation great flavor. Crispy rice with tuna and salmon, perfectly textured. Homemade garden dumplings had us planning a future dumpling date in Japan. Crynchy salmon maki, toro truffle and caviar maki, soft shell crab….all super fresh and very well balanced in taste. The award goes to the spicy seafood udon soup! First time there we had it and couldnt believe what a treasure we found. Had it again last night, and its a truly simple and remarkable dish. The broth is umami atits best, the seafood variety is chock full of different bites of the sea. The noodles…are velvety, long and ever so conforting! If you go there and just get the soup you will die happy. Molten chocolate cake for dessert was warm and chicolatey, not too sweet. The fresh berries and ice cream were a nice accompaniment. We will be back for sure.
Was I couldn’t get table we sit at the bra
10th wedding anniversary dinner
The food is very expensive and not deserve the value
Excellent truly Japanese cuisine. Japanese Wagyu, grated Wasabi, and good tea makes for a memorable experience.
We tried this new place based on reviews and it certainly delivered! The food was amazing, our server was very knowing and helpful and the seating is safe and pretty quiet. It is a bit pricey but the value is there for the money. EXCELLENT choice - we'd go back again when we have a chance.
The Omakase is definitely a wonderful experience, maybe quite overpriced.
Amazing will go back soon
horrible experience - immediately upon sitting we were told it was last call and rushed through our meal. very disappointed. weren’t even allowed to order omakase.
Very disappointed in the service and overall experience. It all starts well until after an hour we're asked to decide whether we wish to order more food because the kitchens are about to close. So early on a Saturday night while I'm enjoying my meal?! I would have expected our waitress to anticipate the timing and ask us to decide upon desserts when ordering at first. After she comes and ask us if we'd like anything else, the service severely slowed down, our waitress disappeared for 15 min so we had to ask someone look for her, all meanwhile the kitchen was closing. We got confused on an order so we ended up with food on our table we didn't really want but by the time this was sorted out, the experience had already gone downhill so we left without having dessert. However, the quality of the food was very good.
This is the best meal I have found in Boston, Hiroki deserves a Michelin Star. The steak made my client cry in joy.
Server was slow. Had to wait for sometime to order. Although food was delicious
The food quality is getting worse compared to it before the pandemic.
Very creative in their food presentation. Sashimi was fresh and delish. I’m Definitely coming back.
Pricy, dark lighting, overall good food and great fast service
Terrific food, but not valuable.
We over ordered due to unfamiliarity with the menu (by a factor of 2) and the waiter did not even hint that we may have ordered too much food.
Still perfect 5 years later.
Not worth it, horrible sushi with very expensive price. Ingredients used are tasteless
The nigiri chef’s sampler was oddly a bit dry. Like they had precut the pieces and assembled them beforehand. Overall for this price point definitely not what I would expect. The smoked hamachi was excellent and great presentation. But the sushi was not awesome. The ambiance is dark and quiet.
Extremely disappointed. If I could give zero stars I would. The only reason this place deserves a single star would be for the quality of fish. The service on the other hand was God awful. Our server was inattentive, paid more attention to the table next to us, and took away our drink menu after the first drink (which were extremely watered down and we were told last call was 9:30 and it was well before then.) We ordered a chef's sampler of sushi and sashimi, the plate was just dropped on our table with no explanation of what we were eating. We left after only 30 minutes out of extreme disappointment. If you are spending this type of money, try O YA or No Relation for MUCH better service. Don't waste your time/money here and go somewhere where they will actually give you good service.
Second time at Oishii and a year ago food was way better. We were so disappointed with our dinner. The lobster dumplings were cold, pork dumplings tasted like it came from a box and salmon was fishy.
Tough to get a server. No explanation of what we were served when chefs choice.
Seated in the back. very remote.
Waiter extremely slow. 10-15 min. before his approach to table. Did not have Sake menu. Another 12 min to get
sake served. Being in the restaurant business I thought it was horrible. Will not comeback.
