Loved all the dishes we ordered, especially the appetizer salmon on fire! so flavorful and creative! Great food, service, and ambience overall. Coconut dessert was bomb as well!
Actually, this is my favorite Japanese restaurant in the US. The sashimi is beyond fresh, natto is very good, nigiri is great as well.
I’m new to sushi but my girlfriend is a sushi FANATIC. It was her birthday and I wanted to bring her somewhere new but had a romantic vibe. When you first get there, the outside doesn’t come remotely close to the actual restaurant. We got a table downstairs, right past this little pond (not sure the type) and was beyond pleased. They have huge dividers, so we could barely hear the people the next table over. Dark ambience with dim lighting made for a very alluring atmosphere. Our waiter was absolutely amazing and helped me guide me through the menu. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion or “treat yo self” kind of night.
Absolutely wonderful! The food and service are top notch and Chef Ting is an artist—we plan to eat at this spot every time we are in Boston! We love it!
Went for my anniversary and loved everything about it!
Went here for my bridal dinner with my two besties and I loved it! By far my favorite sushi restaurant in the city!!
Awesome, waiting staff was great, food was great, it was on the pricey side but if you don’t mind spending the extra money this place is where you want to go!
Delicious food, wonderful service - one of our favorite restaurants!
Oishii is an amazing sushi spot. Their selection of sashimi is incredible. They have a few interesting sushi roll dishes as well. I highly recommend for a nice night out; it can definitely be a fancy night out too.
Everything from food to drinks to service was amazing. Top honors for me were the wagyu sliders with foie gras and truffles and the chef choice 20pc sashimi. The drinks were incredible had the Tokyo mule. I highly recommend for special occasions. Very pricey but one of a kind experience.
Everything about our experience was top notch!! Would highly recommend!
We were seated at a table downstairs completely by ourselves when there were several tables available on the main level. I’d have rather been on the main level. Our food came out fast and was extremely fresh and delicious. Our server was pleasant and attentive when we saw him. We would have ordered more drinks if we were upstairs and he was able to check in on us more often. It was Not our servers fault. Just a poor choice by the host/manager to put us away from the rest of his section when it wasn’t necessary.
Underwhelming food and questionable service. Overall tried 3 appetizers and 3 rolls. Out of this 2 dishes could be classified as good others were low on flavor or fish quality. In terms of service had to complain to have our order taken after sitting around an empty restaurant for 10 minutes waiting to get attention. Not what you would expect
Overall, outstanding! Keep up with the good job! We love to come back again!
Very very good and quite expensive. Fish is fresh and soft, taste and texture of everything (deserts too) is refined and balanced. Drinks are good too.
Totally worth it for special occasions. Five stars.
Would like to go back next year!
Awesome sushi. Chef’s choice is a must. Fresh fish
Everyone should come here. Need to order: truffle edamame, salmon on fire, black cod (apps) and then Route 66 and white tiger sushi!!!
Absolutely delicious sushi!!! I ordered rock shrimp tempura, salmon on fire (must order), tartare tower, for the love of salmon roll, Tokyo style soft shell crab roll, toro sushi, eel sushi, uni Hokkaido sashimi, and Hamachi sushi. The fish is incredibly fresh and will melt in your mouth. You cannot go wrong here. My favorites were the salmon on fire, toro sushi, eel sushi, and uni sushi. Cocktails were also lovely. Perfect date night spot and service is outstanding.
Staff was very professional. I will definitely return soon.
Great place for a birthday dinner, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful time! Get the salmon on fire.
Great best sushi in Boston
My favorite sushi spot in MA!
This would be a 5 star review in all categories, but for one key detail. We arrived on time for a 9:45 reservation, and were told we had 10 minutes until the kitchen’s “last call”. It was stressful and disappointing to be rushed. Had we been given more time, we’d have spent twice as much. I’d suggest to management, not to offer the 9:45 on OpenTable if this is a regular practice. And to diners seeking a late option here, choose 9:30 or earlier. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We will return. Just, slightly earlier.
We were nostalgic for the Oishii in Chesnut Hill, which ceased operations in 2018. This place is bigger and fancier and more like Tao in Las Vegas or NYC than the original tiny, 15-seater restaurant. The white tiger maki is still like nothing else we've ever tasted. The handrolls in cucumber are delicious, we ended up ordering 2 more. The real stars of this place is the absolutely exquisite nigiri - the toro, hamachi, snow crab are all incredible. The vibe is different, but the service and food are excellent, covid be damned!
1st dine-in experience since COVID started and it definitely gave us some sense of normality for a change. The food was great, we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Some of items we ordered are king crab dumpling, spicy salmon handroll and an assortment of sushi.
Tried the maki, dumplings and seafood risotto. All out of this world tasty! And the chocolate molten cake - perfection.
Great service and food
The food is not up enough for the upscale restaurant and way over pice!!! Would never eat there again!
Oishii is simply one of the very best places for superb sashimi, amazing sushi and super creative delicious food!
Wonderful staff, too.
Overall, the appetizers and main dishes were great. The dessert was just okay. The service was excellent.
Food was excellent. Service was fenomenal
This was our first in person dining experience in Boston since coronavirus
Great presentation and novel dishes!
BEST SUHI IN BOSTON VARIETY TASTE AND SERVICE
Thank you for sustaining a great dining experience.
Fantastic dining experience presented by Chef Yen. The food, service, and atmosphere were impeccable. I was extremely impressed by how the restaurant and staff handled the social distancing and how they made the right safety precautions necessary to make our experience so memorable. Thank you!
i've been living in Boston for 4.5 years and that's how long i've been coming to Oishii. I come to Oishii regularly and I love all the food they offer. They also have good music. It is a bit pricy but it's worth it. My go-to order never changes, I tried ordering other things sometimes but never quite liked it. Here's my go-to on the menu: the squid ink pasta, uni pasta, toro truffle roll, and salmon on fire. I also always order the nigiris and the ones that I liked most were: the uni, botan ebi, foeigras truffle, and tenderloin beef. Highly recommended!
